- Essen 1977 : From a Rockpalast concert shown all over Europe ... I didn't want to split the two songs as the intro to Fat Man in the Bathtub from Skin it Back is just so good!

A rare glimpse of one of the greatest, possibly the greatest, rock and roll bands to ever exist. Great footage of Lowell playing the slide guitar. Feels like lifetimes ago, and makes me want to cry...but I won't. Waiting for Columbus remains their testament, still the album I would most want to be stranded on a desert island with. Lowell, Ritchie, Paul...loved all you guys. Bill, Sam, Kenny...you guys too. All of you were the best of rock and roll.
Man, Richie Hayward was the best drummer! He made those songs roll like a New Orleans freight train.
He could change the direction, feel and tempo of a song instantly and seamlessly.
Well, he wasn't the best drummer, but he was good for Little Feat..
I do not think that anyone could ever lay down the beat better than Richie. Watch out, the freight train is coming down the road. LISTEN UP!
My fave band. Period. LOTS of great bands throughout the decades but these guys just do it for me. Been listening to them since 75 or so. RIP Lowell, Richie and Paul.
I'm in the same boat with you brother
Richie Hayward was a fantastic drummer. Love this funky rock music!
I was very fortunate enough to see Little Feat back in 1978 in Baltimore Civic Center, when Lowell George was still alive, plus an added bonus was sitting in the second row, center stage.
They put on one heck of a concert!
Fucking awesome 😎
This is the best band ever!
This is cool reminder about how great this band was. Audiences and critics loved them but they never got the record sales they deserved. The current line up do a fine job but the band here are truly special.
Damn I wish I could have seen these guys live. So great live. Thanks for posting
I did and they were fantastic back in 1978, so good.
I've never seen a band shift from one groove or tempo with as much skill as Feat. Richie was the bomb.
@@donnaplumridge9769 I did too and they were fantastic in 1975. Here it is, 2024, and I'm still listening.
I did a few times. So good.
Har…………Har…………Har
Sheer GENIUS
Feat's don't fail me now, and they never do.
People here love this band. Me too but sadly now almost forgotten.
Never
@@AudricDenis Would be great to think quality never dies and maybe people in future will rediscover them but there’s no sign. Doubt if they get many listens from anyone under 60.
This band is a Great Band. I've followed them for 48 years. They and the Doobies are my favorites RIP Lowell, Paul and Richie
Great band with Lowell George. You can hear the Dr John New Orleans sound. I love it.
Incredible stuff
I remember reading an interview with Paul Barrrere from years ago, and he was asked about the impetus for "Skin It Back". He responded, something along the lines of "well, you know, I'm not circumsized." :D
Ha! That's awesome :)
Yes, and it’s “dangerous” to ask about Fat Man in the Bathtub, too. I had to research that phrase, I had never even encountered it, here in the Northeast. Those guys got away with so much back then, using all that street talk.
@@CasperLCat 'I feel your innuendo'
These days the political police wouldn't have allowed the most Fantastic Band ever to release an album. It's ridiculas, in my opinion.✌️❤️🌼@@CasperLCat
I was most fortunate to see them live back in the early 70's
Hey now....that is good stuff.
I miss Paul. They were always my friends!
Best band ever!
Richie Hayward! The best drummer for th best band!
Have come to the conclusion that a really good drummer with his own style is crucial to a bands success, think The Police, Led Zeppelin, Rush, Stones, etc.
Best concert I ever saw. NYE '78-9.
Nice!!! Lowell last NYE😅
Wow! Great performance.
What a unique jam this song is, amazing band
I wish I had seen them whenLowell was still alive, but did see them them soon after they regrouped! Melissa Ethrirdge, an up and coming star, opened for them! Great night! Still go to see them and they are still great!!!
