Rock when it still had the roll. And the funk. And the groove.
Losing George was a monumental loss
Richie Hayward. Such a great groovy drummer. Sadly under-rated. And sadly no longer with us.
His work with Robert Plant was mighty good too.
@@jeffball6656 Jimmy Page had his eye on him for John Bonham replacement.
Try Grand funk railroad. You want funk. James gang comes mind too very solid group of musicians that grew into their own.
All I want is some good clean fun.
I'm 65 now and this brings back so many great memories. I look at the younger generation and keep wondering what the hell happened to them? I just figured it out. They didn't grow up listening to this. We had so many talented artists back then. They didn't have Auto-Tune. They sang. They got on stage and did it live. We had bands like Little Feat, Rory Gallagher and others who were better live than in the studio. They just knew how to put on a show.
I remember an opening act (I won't name them out of respect) not showing up and we had about 65,000 fans waiting. Billy Gibbons walked out on stage and said one of their members was sick and they would not be there, but not to worry, because ZZTop would make up for it. They played for 2 hours. Billy said, hey y'all, nature calls. Give us a few minutes and we will be right back, so don't go anywhere. A few minutes later ZZTop was back on the stage and played another 2 hours. At the end, Billy asked if everyone felt they got their money's worth? Standing ovation! "Then we did our job! Thank you all and good night."
What a show! Who would do that nowadays?
Right on Brother!! Me too!!😊
Or they don't hang out with people that are in there 60's.
I was born in 92' and I am grateful my coworker told me about this song! The garbage I am forced to listen to on the radio can not compare to music like this here!!
Morgan Erkard }
Heck your only 41 yrs younger than myself and I'm glad you've been led down the right road . Pass it on.
I say that on a daily basis especially listening to stations who pride themselves on any kind of mix of rock. Underrated. Seen them live in New haven ct a few years back what a blessing. Best free concert I've ever seen and never ever will forget them get up there and perform set after set flawlessly for years. July 14th 2001. Been a fan since. Was only 11.
You could always switch the radio off
Damn right
This is sharp reminder of how great Little Feat were with the genius of Lowell George
Gone way too soon. Damn drugs.
I saw this live, in 1977…I can still hear every note in my head today ! Amazing group !
Pretty sure I did too, Manoa Amphitheater on the grass, 5 feet away under the Hawaiian sky. One of the best shows ever
Seen the 2022 tour in Lexington KY and it was by far the best concert I've seen in the last 30 years. Phenomenal absolutely Phenomenal. The Lexington Opera House is gorgeous and they rocked it for almost 3 hour's. Unbelievable
So glad I got an opportunity to see these guys again. They are in their 70"s and rocked it like teenager's.
I live nearby there and missed the Little Feat Bus... thanks for sharing ~
Those were the days...never to be repeated. But their music lives on.
Sooooooo many memories of this tune. So much meaning for me. The whole album is just fan-friggin-tastic! The synth sounds, jsut awesome. I used to play this one on 11.
This is the music of my childhood. I was born in 76, I clearly remember this record playing in our living room nonstop . Good memories
Back in the 1970s I was friends with the guys in Tower of Power. I remember Mimi Castillo and Doc Kupka telling me some hair raising stories about life on the road with Liittle Feat. This effort culminated in the live album Waiting for Columbus. When I first heard the album in 1978 I believe, I thought the overall sound quality to be very strong and it truly was. Little Feat were one of my favorite bands. However there was a good ammount of studio overdubs on the album. I guess they were all having a real GOOD tme on the road. In Europe no less!
Warren Dewey was the sound engineer in the editing process with Lowell and he had a few hair raising stories to tell as well. Wish I could remember details. Too late now, he passed away a few years ago.
Prophetic line, 'Don't want no speedball 'cause I might die trying'. 😢
If I had to pick ONE SONG to listen to for the rest of my life, this might be it.
The album and the song are already great ... but kudos to the monty-pythonish images. Brilliant. Kudos to Eric Kassel & Peter Hilgendorf and all the artists who collaborated on this project
You can't watch it without thinking of Monty Python.
Greatest live band of all time! Lowell George and Billy Payne were geniuses!
Such a shame so many folks never got the chance to enjoy the Feat live.
I was born in 47. These guys played for frank zappa. Saw them a lot at rose bowl on Sundays FREE
Juanita
The band has changed personnel (three main characters having left this mortal coil), but they're still kicking ass. Sam Clayton will have a solo album coming out in the spring of 2024 (with Feat as his main back up band) and the full band is in the studio working on new material. Support them. Go see them when they come to a town near you
Love the sound of 70’s synths and keys.. coming from a guitar player.
So they started the concert with this song, one of the great live performances ever.
OMG I haven't head this song in years!! it takes me right back to summer of 1981. blasting the whole album at a backyard BBQ in Lubbock Texas.
There is a new box set with all of the recordings from the 4 (?) shows. Great job on the whole project Jason Jones at Rhino. Sounds incredible
Saw this tour in 1977, Fox Theater, St. Louis, but not for these recording sessions. Became an instant fan! Opened EVERY concert with Lowell George with this song.
Cried like a baby when he passed the day after my birthday in 1979 😢
This song is essentially tapping the first keg on a summertime Friday night turned into music and given to us all. What a fun album.
Hell yeah!
What a song, what an album, what a band!
Can I just say very cool! I love this…..
There'll never be another Lowell George !
❤ I just saw them in Cincinnati June 18th 2024 awesome show. I have seen them probably 10 times or more over the years.
Hugs y'all!
I used to work nights radiology at a small hospital in Alaska. Me and the lab people would rock all night. Little feat was a part of our lives. I called a woman Juanita for a few years, never knew her actual name.😅
It may not be a popular opinion, but I think the best thing Frank Zappa ever did for music was kicking Lowell George outta the Mothers of Invention.
Well said give the governor a hurmph
Frank told Lowell that 'Willin' was,a drug song and Frank was very anti drug. Frank had crazy shows though. Flo and Eddie included.
@@jameswestmoreland9717 Lowell predicted his own death- ("Don't want no speedballs, cause' I might die tryin'"). After his performance in D.C., at the Marriott Hotel, he died from too many speedballs- (6/29/79).
Absolutely love this song. And this video some how encapsulates the band, especially Lowell George.
I'm 40 now...and when I listen to Little Feat I am right back to being 8/9 years old w my dad listening to them in the suburban
Same
same
Saw the Feat open for the Stones in Stuttgart, 1975. They blew away the Stones, and I’m a BIG Stones fan!
No band is like the "Feat" so unique and just badass 😊
A masterpiece...I wish I had seen the band. Such a great time.
Its nice to hear what real music sounds like. Unlike now days anyone can sing with auto tune. Just look at R&B.
Love Little Feat. Thank you💯💯💯
What a fantastic video tribute to one of the greatest bands of all time!
I love this song. It just puts me in a great mood! Love Little Feat.
I could listen to this every day. In fact, I probably should.
I've never heard this song in my 38 wonderful years existing on this lil space rock we call Earth, until recently....And it's this sort of beautiful energy that makes me feel alive, as we feel many talented human beings collaborate to channel a divine abstraction we call "music" to invoke a feeling that calls to our spirit to "move and groove".
As a less intense note; The "sound" of this bass is absolutely fat, smooth, and sexy. Like a perfect spoonful of peanut butter. lol. Take care, thanks for reading friend. Hope you're well.
..it is the Greatest Live album ever recorded...period.
This is my favorite live album
Yup. You are correct. This mix is outrageous! 😊
This makes me smile every time.
This is an incredible video capturing all the cover art from the albums throughout! Such a great job, kudo's to all involve with producing this!
this croatian just loooove LF…what a band ✊✊✊
Trippy video!!!! Great song and great band!!!! Thank you!
The Monty Python guys did the videos for the whole album.
Memorys😊❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Whistle test mid 70s. Love them from then.
I first heard this song on the radio in summer of '80. I went to my local music store the next day and bought the album.
Best live album ever. Was there at Lisner and it was fantastic. George was the man! Sammy C!!!!
All the little subtle nods to Feat in this video are just awesome. Chairman Mao's portrait, the overalls, the car from Feats Don't Fail Me Now, the chicken, the dancing tomato!
Whole lotta great music there to love
Great music video for my favorite song by Little Feat.
One of my all time favorite songs ever
Wonderful
This album really enhanced my euphoric state of mind whilst smoking brown opium. Really hit the spot. The fan is a super good song
Great song from a great album...❤️
Awesome band 👍
I maybe the only 30 year old listening to these jams but damn if this ain't rocknroll
I have the head phones on and a good buzz going. Man. Try it.
This is such a treat. Little Feet, Bonnie Raitt , and Emmylou Harris and Monty Python! What's not to like! Love it?
Love it!
Hell yeah it's excellence.
i bought the album when i was 21 = and a roadie working for rock bands !
Jeebus when Bill Payne hits that pause to the percussion @ 3:40 is sublime
Don't forget the Power of Tower Horns too😊❤
I had an original copy of Waiting for Columbus & a few other Little Feat albums but they went when I sold off my record collection. I collect CDs ONLY. But I remember crying like crazy when Lowell George died, because he seemed like such a easy going good guy & my Dad saying "that's what doing drugs does".
Seemed a bit harsh at the time, but of course, he was & forever will be correct.
Vampirebear13 It couldn't have been that whole large pizza W/ everything that Lowell ate, while the rest of the band shared one large cheese pizza!
@@kevinmontgomery1383 Yes Lowell died of heart failure :-( and his appetite for food, drugs & alcohol have become legend. Still a shame he died so young.
@@Vampirebear13 Don't forget women, despite having one at home.
@@kevinmontgomery1383 I don't remember any stories of Lowell George being a womanizer but I'd say that's part & parcel of being a rockstar :-/
@@Vampirebear13 I think it was more being a music producer
Got to see Lowell with the boys back on 10/1/78, at the University of New Hampshire, and it was one of the best musical nights of my life. Saw Feat about ten times after, but that first show was special. Even funny at times. Like when they started singing "Don't Bogart That Joint", and about twenty J's went flying up on to the stage. And were quickly gathered up by the crew, and saved for later. Feat was a great, great band, and this video was a fun representation of their style and musical mastery.
The guitar licks give me the chills.
Very nice! Very tasty representation of the GREATEST rock and roll tune, ever! (IMHO) Lowell and Richie and Paul would approve, I believe. Thanks!
Awesome song!! Fist time I’ve listened to them.
The reaction vids to this song crack me up. Their jaws all hit the floor
How on earth can there only be 1.8k likes? Come on people !
I'm going to see them next month in Deerfield,Ma.
Lowell George,Bill Paine... GIGANTS!!!One of the best bands!!!
GODS OF OLYMPUS!!!!
Gigants?
@@nealrose8653 Gig Ants? !!
I have been a fan since the late 70s, this may be my favorite song of their's.
Love it!
Bonnie Raitt and Little Feat. The best concert I saw. 1976.
Love the Feat… cool animation here! Gutted that I missed out seeing them at the Rainbow, I think I was wrapped up with punk in ‘77, seeing bands like the Clash, Jam & outliers like Dr Feelgood, The Pirates, Johnny Thunders etc.. only realising what I’d missed when I started buying Little Feat albums some years later!
Loving these!
Hoy Hoy!
On the list list of top 10 for me...
Reminded me ,, of my okdest brother... YEP!! He b the man inda bathtub,,❤️✌️😂👍
Definitely a delightful afternoon...
Hello 👋 Joan yeah you're right & I love it too.. how are you doing today??

Great Stuff Love all the Throwback references in the video. Top Notch.
Played in a garfage band for a couple of years. Bass. These guys make it sound so EASY to produce such a great song.... let me tell you.... it aint easy.... These guys were so good....
A great live band so much fun
great song
Really interesting video, nicely done.
Classic
The BEST!! Killer band!
one of the best live album
Outstanding
Appreciate all yours autographs on the poster love you man
I was at the Wembley gig where they had been partying the night before, but it was still a great gig. Still not a good as the Rainbow where I saw them blow the Doobie Brothers out of the water. My favourite U.S. Rock band. Love them forever.❤
Epic!
I saw them at the Fox theater 1977 in Atlanta Ga
What a band! With bass guitar as a prominent instrument, which was very uncommon back then!
Have a Heineken ,superb song.
Wow !!!
Can’t wait to see y’all in Richmond va
Keyboards great!!!
Nothing better than that
