I got the BRZ Limited trim last year. It's pretty comfy and it's funny that I often get comments about how I get in and out of it as I'm 6' and the BRZ sits so low to the ground. Honestly I wanted the GR86 in red instead, but Toyota was not doing orders at any dealership in my area so I went to Subaru and they were like "Yeah, sure awesome". They seem to enjoy whenever I bring the car in as, as far as I'm aware, I have the only '22+ BRZ in northwest Louisiana or at least the only one that bought through them (the only Subaru dealership here). Honestly my only complaint with the car is that with the active exhaust sound speaker unplugged I can barely hear my exhaust at all if I'm anywhere near other vehicles. I've attempted to remedy this by getting the MRT Street Race axle back exhaust, but then I learned I have none of the tools needed to install it even with how basic they are...
The 86 and BRZ are MOSTLY the same, but there are notable differences. The BRZ uses aluminum knuckles that are much lighter weight. The BRZ also incorporates new sway bar mounting points and sizes while the 86 kept the same old stuff from last gen. BRZ has a more grip\handling focused while the 86 is more "drifty". The BRZ is actually less harah and more compliant on the road as well. Realistically the BRZ is the better car. It costs less as well.

If you're trying to get 'big power' you should start with a different car, imo.. Thanks! As a little fun car, civic is excluded, it is porky, not as cut as before, so miata mx5, gr86, Gr Cotolla and veloster N( unfortunately discontinued)
My issue with the gr86 is it’s competition no one talks about, the turbo 4 cylinder Camaro. The Camaro makes 275hp and 290torque. A lot more than the gr86 and the Camaro has an INCREDIBLE chassis this gen. If the Camaro was called anything else, people would go on about how it’s the best sports car bargain in the last 20 years. They are also very similarly priced, the Camaro even being cheaper in some ways. On a track, the Camaro would obliterate the gr 86. That’s what’s stopping me from the GR86
I tried my hardest to get an 86 at MSRP in Phoenix, gave up after 6 months. I ended up ordering a barebones 6 speed turbo Camaro and adore it. If you put any other name on the car it would be a whole different ballgame. Nobody pays attention to them… works for me, I get to slide 3200 lbs around in a world class chassis with turbo noises and get to row my own gears without a markup; as a previous FRS owner, I would say it’s a great alternative.
I really like the profile of this car, saw an ad or something and it jumped out at me. Reminds me of a sleeker Nissan GT-R. I just wish the name was a noun or something instead of letters and numbers. I'd say weapon, but I may just be drawing a connection to the Die Another Day Aston, whichever V that was.

Selling my 14 brz and plan to get one of the newer models next year
The first time I have seen the gr86 I thought it looked more like a supra then the mk5, appart from its size
What freeway were you driving on? Very nice car.
The handling; wish the interior quality was a little better though
Arent you supposed to wait to reach 1000 miles for the break in period before pushing the engine hard past 4k rpm?
The gear indicator in track mode is delay.
I’d pick the Si over this for practical reasons. Wish the Si came in a hatch back. Sigh
But.. FWD... It's not fun to do spins in
I picked SI over the GR86 due to the snowy weather in Canada. Also, SI has higher potentials for tuning.
@@revelxtion6326 I’m not doing spins in my cars regardless so it works for me lol
@@0MosDefinitely0sounds like you need a wrx not a si.
Question, does it have the "Honda" issue where you have to shift slow due to the crazy rev hang and delay valve in the CMC?
In that case, chevy should make a different car on the same platform so it would sell more and people wouldn't stray away from it for a V8 option.
@@mashedt8rs290 I agree with you, I wish they would have done this.
Glad you got one. "the 4 cylinder and LS models will not be offered for model year 2024 Camaro" - Chevy@@Sn0rlax8656
The only good thing about American cars is bigger engines but quality sucks in the long run.
I want this car so bad the waiting list is 12 months in Australia 😢
Torn between GR86 premium and Miata RF Grand Touring - lease pricing is within $10 of each other 😢
RF and the top down experience is awesome.
I mean you really can't go wrong with either. The data isn't as important as which one puts the bigger grin on your face
Do you have a second vehicle? If so, go Miata.. If not, go GR86. Simple
GR86/BRZ because lightweight, roomier, RWD platform. It's the only car of it's kind that you can buy new in that price point
Great POV drive review of the 2023 Toyota GR86. I would take the GR86 over its competitors and value.
If YOU had to pick Miles, you taking the 86 or the Kona N?
13:24 can this “maneuver” be done with the automatic? lol
Can you disconnect whatever cable /wire that’s making the rev sound coming through the speakers
Turn signals look LED to me, lol...
Great video though! :)
Unfortunately Where I live duo to Taxes , the new models costs the equivalent to 65,000 USD , Yes twice as much.
So I went for a 2020 previous Gen BRZ , Fantastic car , got it last Thursday .
Addictive to drive , you just look for excuses and reasons to go in it , great cars.
I did managed to tests drive the new one , Maybe in a few years I'll get a good second hand one :)
What country is that?
Norway?
@@Safewoood close , Denmark :)
Best UA-cam video opening scene
this will be an amazing $20,000 used car in 2-3 years with 25-30k miles.
Great video, very beautiful. I'm a big fan of you+👍🔔
Thank you for watching!
A proper review.
I'll take a GR86 with some eurobeat please
Hey, what's your height ? Wondering as I'm 6'3 if I would fit alright in the car. Thanks
Do you use a GoPro with head mount?
I hope to afford a fun car some day
