The first gen 2017 and up with the revised headlights and tail lights looks more mature than the new model. I live in a predominant conservative area of America and my first gen gets lots of compliments. The second gen has too many conflicting lines and the rear with the duck tail looks very boy racer. The front fenders with the odd bulges that does not flow into the door is anything but clean. All in all the second gen does have a better transmission, and more usable torque curve.The interior front dash also looks nicer overall than the first gen, but in terms of cleaner lines and more mature looking, the first gen, at least in conservative part of America where i live, is less boy racer than the second gen.
Have to disagree, first gen looks anything but mature. Striking? Unique? absolutely. But beautiful? Not a chance. Easily screams boy racer instantly. 2nd gen looks like a baby jaguar. Then again, you did say you live in a highly conservative area where I'm sure screaming V8s muscle cars are considered high class and elegant.

Yes, but you'll get slightly reduced power and higher chance of knock at stock. Or you can tune the engine with Ecutek for RON 95 and you don't have to worry anymore.
I agree it's fun. I agree with your review. But the fact still is, in Malaysia I can buy 2nd hand 330i or 328i or Z4 s28i for 100k and dapao this car in straight line and most corners. This car only has a chance in momentum tracks with technical corners one after another. Basically, people should keep in mind that this car is super duper fun, as long as you don't mind old auntie in 330i or even Audi SUV overtake you. This car need modding. More power. More tires more aero.
You forget that the car is very light and very responsive. With 232hp it is also very quick and absolutely beats a 328i and easily keeps up with a 330i. Ask me how I know 😅. Granted it’s top speed is limited at 225km but who do you know tops their speed limits in an urban setting?
