    I'm 47 and still cry over his death. No other celebrity passing affected me as deeply as Chester's. I can't even begin to tell about the bad spot I was in when I was in my 30's...Hybrid Theory got me through some tough, tough times. The lyrics spoke to me. As stupid as that may sound.

    • @HelloBeautifulPurrson
      @HelloBeautifulPurrson 3 роки тому +7

      It doesn't sound stupid. Not at all. I'm 44. His voice carried me through some rough times as well. Might've lost myself somewhere along the way if it weren't for their music and Chester's lyrics and voice.
      When he, NoLifeShaq, said "the world was hurting when he died" it brought the pain up again. If I don't get ahold of it I'll end up bawling my eyeballs out. Of all the artists who've passed, Chester's is by far the most painful. You're not alone and your emotions are not stupid. (((Hugs)))

But since you think I'm doing this for sympathy I guess I can't change your opinion 🤷
      Second thing I wanna add is that linking park has showed us that sometimes when you are on your lowest you could write music and express yourself, Chester was asking for help on his music but he was also trying to help his fans who where going through the same thing.

    Been a metal fan for 33 yrs. Seen many many deaths over the yrs including, but no limited to: Cliff Burton (Metallica), Kurt Cobain (Nirvana), Paul Gray (Slipknot), Layne Staley (Alice In Chains), Dimebag (Pantera), Vinnie Paul (Pantera), Chris Cornell (Soundgarden), Jeff Hanneman (Slayer), Lemmy (Motorhead), Eddie Clark (Motorhead), Ben Graves (Murderdolls), Keith Flint (The Prodigy) and of course Chester.
    These are the sad passings i can think of at the moment. Of course, theres many more who passed before i got in to metal music but the above are some of the deaths that hit me at the time. Some more than others. I have also lost all my family except my mum, who has dementia, so you could say i have lost her really. Shes in care and 'end of life'. Today, 7/20, is 2 years that Chester passed. The song is about parents putting pressure on their children to be "more like them". Hence they become "numb" from every step that they take is another mistake. "You were just like me with someone disappointed in you"
    And if you didn't know about Chester voice you need to listen to the songs where he screams. Given up especially, eerie subject matter now tho

Your problems won't go away, but you don't need to either. I'm here brother, or sister. No judgement or advice. Chester wanted to spread love and understanding. I want to do the same in his memory. Anybody else who has read this but won't send a message, you are loved. Stay strong. You have value beyond anything you may ever understand. You are loved. This goes for everybody.

We got drunk, cried, and played Rock Band to all the available LP songs. They were an amazing band and even being a fan of 10+ years, we didn’t really understand all the pain he was truly going through. I also wanted you to know that I’m subscribed to a lot of “reaction” channels, but yours is my favorite, simply for the fact that you rewind and go back over anything you might have missed and you also seem to have a better understanding of many reactors I’ve watched. He studied social pedagogy to help young people to find their way in life, but the rest of his family - especially his mother - didn´t belive in what he was doing, which led to an ongoing dispute between him and his family.....................He died of a heart attack October 1st, 2019..........i miss him a lot.

    I think this song can apply to every teen out there. What this song is saying that we wanna follow our dreams of what we want - regardless of what our parents want for us growing up and not wanting to let us go.
    I remember hearing this song for the very first time the year "Numb" came out and it really hit home. I'm the only girl and when I got a scholarship to Full Sail University, my mom didn't want to let me go and hearing this brought those memories back.

    There's two types of people... People who listen to music , and there's people who feel the music.

    Hey SHAQ, in this song Chester is speaking/singing to his father. I myself was diagnosed with ADHD(severe) and Bi Polar disorder type 1( moderately severe) Chester was Bi-Polar and this is one of the 8 songs that relate to these disorders so closely that any one of us diagnosed with Bi-Polar could have given context to but only Chester and Linkin Park could verbalize the true feeling. This song connects with more people than anyone would care to admit to.
