Hello! Yes, if I don´t remeber incorrectly, all of Kassai´s bows drawweight are measured at 30". There are alot of factors involved in making a bow shoot fast. A bow with a lot of relflex will be faster than a bow with less reflex. I got my arrows from a store here in Sweden, but the manufacturer is GoldTip. However, I´m having thoughts on getting some heavier arrows from Carbon Express, the "Heritage" type. I buy the shafts and feather seperately, from the same store, and assemble them by...
Thank you! Yes, I would gladly draw longer, but my arrows are to short for my proper drawlength. I´d like to buy an bow wich can handle drawlengths at about 34" some day, and some proper arrows for it. Until that day comes, I shall contunue this training. Thank you very much for the advices!
@misper34 Thank you! Yeah, there´s room for improvements. ;) Perhaps you have any suggestions of how I can improve my technique? Hahah, yeah, I like these so called "horsebows" better than any other bows.
@Warbeast911 Thank you very much! Yeah, the "blind nocking-part" makes it all look a little bit more impressive than if one were to nock the attows while looking att it. ;) It takes some time to learn though. But hey, that´s how it is with most of these little things involved in traditional archery! :)
It depends entirely on how much you´re used to at drawing when shooting. If you haven´t been shooting with this style before, I suggest that you get a lighter poundage bow, say 30#. That way you´ll have a bow that you can really start practising these shooting techniques with. Once you´ve learned these properly, you can buy a heavier bow for hunting.
Nice video! I love shooting with the thumb release, though I don't practice as much as I should. I make so many different bows that I just rely on three fingers to break them in. That's a good looking bow. How is the Kassai? I've shot Grozer and Toth, never tried Kassai.
nice video.. i think you can try to extend your draw length next time. when u extend your draw length(draw behind your ear) you can make your shoulders wide open and use back muscle to hold the draw for like 2 secs before release . in Chinese archery we call that ,"relax your chest muscle ,tense your back muscle"
Hi there I´ve gotten used to shooting bare thumbed by now, so I think that I´ll continue doing so...unless I make a simple thumbring out of a piece of leather or similar. From what i know, the limbs are equal in strength akthough one of them might be a bit longer than the other one is, but not much.
...my self, at home. I find it impossible to shoot arrows with plastic vanes from a bow like this one, the only option for me is to get som proper feathers on those arrowshafts! ;) Yeah, this bow sure has alot of kick/power to it! If held incorrectly, the handshock is quite brutal. Thank you for your kind words, they´re appreciated! :)
@BackyardBowyer Thank you! :) Heh, yeah, it´s not easy to learn, it takes a while...My thumb still hurts from this shooting ^^ Thanks, I agreed! It´s quite hard to shoot with it, though. The bow itself differs alot in weight compare to Grozers bows, I thinkt that they use different fibreglass types. It´s very loud and has quite alot of handshock, if you´re not holding it in a certain way.
I got it from a company in Finland which sells these kinds of bows made by Grózer and Kassai. This is a Kassai Wolf II bow. The draw I´m using here is the so called "thumb-draw" and it´s quite tricky to learn, takes alot of practise, but once you know how to use it, it´s far superior to the three-finger draw, especially on shorter bows like thes one I´m using here :)
@Warbeast911 Good to hear! :) Yeah, it´s not really that hard, once you can concentrate on all those small things that needs to be done at the same time.
nearly forget , nice release . the dropping elbow after release part actually are pretty similar with the idea of the ming style archery(武经射学正宗-高颖)form. again try to apply this release with a longer draw, you will have different experience
Hello, I don't mean to nitpick, but I noticed that you braced (strung) your bow upside down (the weaker limb is supposed to be on the top) your form is almost spot on with a little practice (and like another poster stated) longer arrows, and perhaps a thumb ring (if you haven't gotten used to shooting bare thumbed yet) you'll improve a lot
@markitisthen Hahah, yeah, it´s a bit painful, especially since the bow is on 50# at full draw. But hey, what doesn´t kill you, make you strong. ;-) Thank you! There´s room for improvements, though. :)
@gladgurkan91 only diasadvantage, i use a thumb glove, for tournament reasons mostly, and its gets in the way on the vlind notcking part some time, with thumbring, its pretty easy
Two questions ^_^ : Where do you get a quality bow like this? And how do you make the transition from holding the arrow like you would in a long bow to the mongolian composite bow?
That´s some interesting info, thanks for sharing it! I´ve always thought that this bow has alot of handshock to it.
Thank you very much. iIm trying to decide whether to get one or not and its very useful to have someones opinion

Nice mongolian style shooting. :)

At a company wich is located in Finland, but the bow itself is made by Kassai Lajos, you can order his bows from a number of places on the web.

I´d say that is one of the better fibreglass bows that are out there. There are those who are much worse.

Hi there, the string is 53,3 inches long and the braceheight is 7,5 inches.
Yes, these Mariner bows seems to be very good! :) And, one of them has a maximum draw of 35", if I remember correctly!
Yep, this bow can be shot both right and left-handed. It has no built-in arrowrest on either side, it´s your hand wich makes the arrowrest.
@CombatArchery Thanks, yes, finally a new one! :) It´s been a while since the last one.
@Warbeast911 Good to hear! :) Yeah, it´s not really that hard, once you can concentrate on all those small things that needs to be done at the same time.

sweet form, i was told, i should nock blindly, would look pro
now i understand why :_-)

You´re welcome!
@gladgurkan91 only diasadvantage,

@CombatArchery Yeah, so do I !
@Warbeast911 Indeed! ;)
I´m sorry, but I do not quite understand your question?
@CombatArchery When you do, can you please upload a video of it? :)
i meant mariner bow
Two questions ^_^ : Where do you get a quality bow like this? And how do you make the transition from holding the arrow like you would in a long bow to the mongolian composite bow?
@gladgurkan91 minute to learn, lifetime to master :-)
@gladgurkan91 did it today, pretty easy, ande feels fine
look into korean bows or sevenstartrading(manchu bows)
this a fiberglass bow right?
is the wolf 2 bow you use very good?
What kind of quiver is that?
Just a simple home-made one, basically a tube of leather with a loop on one end.
Where did you get this bow from?
