- Ported and assembled a Stihl ms440 today. Saw is all oem except a meteor piston.
Saw runs pretty good so far, but it needs a way more opened up exhaust and some run time.
Ran it with a stock exhaust with a slightly opened up exit hole in this video. It needs more flow thats for sure.
Will retest with a modded muffler.
Thanks for watching!!
That saw turned out nice and strong 👍
Thats one of the strongest worksaws I've built. Its still going strong with its new owner!!
@@tinmanssaws oil mix 1:40 ?
Clean 440
That came out nice! Great trigger response! I would open the muffler, it don’t make enough racket, lol👍👍👍👍🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🙏🙏🙏🙏
Yep too quiet.
Beast man sounded great.
Sure do like the way you do things , diesel mechanic here , like to mess with saws trying to beef up my old 044 and 660 love the imfo
nice video saw sounds good nice work man
Hey Tinman could you please build a 440 460 hybrid? :)
Nice!
What were your #s
for what there is aluminium shield on the bottom right?
Awesome build! I notice the "finger grooves" is the top of your intake are a little wider and more rounded than Harvey does it. I'm very curious about that.
That Stihl is a good, strong runner. Love the throttle response. What's the bar and chain specs?
Need to do just that an I need to leave it alone after that
Easy on the fingers..haha. ya it happens..lol
You'd think I'd know better hehe!!
I'll maybe do the muff mod tomorrow night and let this thing breath.
Do you do work for people I have a 440 I need built
I might be a fool but I like a stihl 440 and a husky 272xp the best out all but just cause my last name is sawyer it doesnt mean I'm a expert at all
How much to build me one
The Stihl MS440 Magnum is a beast out of the box. The only thing I've done to mine is a very small muffler mod. The stock muffler port is pathetic. Ever Stalwart and keep your chain sharp.
there were several different muffler faces available, and two different bases. The strongest combo was a west coast base with a ported face. worked well, but need to fatten out the high-speed screw.
