I just got the Meatbox for my 5 strings bass. It doesn’t work on most positions on 4th and 5th string, tho. Hulk works better on lower notes (strings)?
hey SLACK, before your comment, I've never heard of the Magpie Bit Pirate before - maybe I'll have the chance to try it some day :) thanks for the input!
Hey@@totalSLACK I tried the Bit Pirate 2 weeks ago... insane pedal, but It does not have a hi cut, so it sounds very aggressive... I had to send it back :(
good question... I think the Meatbox is a bit more gentile and soft... the hulk has some more edge in the tone... I installed 'em both on my board because of these nuances :)
I own all three, though mine is the Density Hulk(4 knobs). In my rig, MEATBOX hits the subs hard and best left alone in a live setting. Hulk follows close behind as it being a clone and all. OC2 suited for synth like sub and the best of the 3 to record with.

yes, it it super limited works best around 10th till 15th fret on E/A/D strings...
Where does the Magpie Bit Pirate fall in the comparison?

@@olilutz it seems like it has the same kinda control as the DOD, but with the triple bypass surgery and maybe even a more BITten sound!
@@totalSLACK sounds awesome... ok, I need one 😅

Hey Stario, I totally agree with you! :)
By “left alone”, do you mean not use it live? Is it too much?
I think @stario meant to not use it with other effects combined, right Stario?
I meant to say, is best for a live setting for speaker blasting
@@stario 👍
Where do you put the compressor? Before or after Octave?
Hey Arthur, I put it before the compressor to stabilize the signal that goes into the octaver! :)
@@olilutz awesome thank you!
@@olilutz Hmm. I have to try that. I usually go octave first.
@@RallyWays yeah, check it out and let me know if you liked it :)
