I actually liked the ending because they just went with it. No else had done anything quite like that and I admire that. Russell had harbored a lot of guilt after not intervening with hell house and not doing anything when Mitchell and his group went to the hotel. I think that’s what the film was trying to convey that his mission was to lure Tully out with playing stupid and bringing more victims. In the end it was bait to finally close the gate. The fact that Russell was being selfless I think is really what the message was at the end of the film.
I think Danny Bellini did an excellent job at the end conveying how much guilt he was going to carry for causing them all to die. When Sarah leads him off by the hand it was like her telling him I know you wish we could change this but at least we will be together and not alone.
Also did anyone pick up on the fact that Russell was specific to the year range of the wine when the waiter asked him when he passed in the Wynn Merlot? I think it’s possibly a reference to the wine left in the hotel that he replaced.

Amazing how great of an artpiece could be created with a (what I imagine) tighter budget than many bigger studios. And yeah, watching this 3rd part I couldn't stop thinking of the expression/meme "I never expected leopards would be eating MY face when I voted for the Leopards Eating People's Faces party".
Ok, so I haven't been able to find a single person who could answer this... exactly WHAT was it that Russell took out of the safe at the end that presumably helped him defeat Tully? I know it was something he got from the priest, and I thought maybe it was holy water or something at first, but that seems just a little too mundane for an Avenging Angel of God to use to fight against ultimate evil. It feels like the film doesn't clearly show whatever the object is on purpose so as to keep it vague and mysterious, but if anyone does have a definitive answer I'd be very interested to hear it.

No idea if this was intentional but the fact that Tully would sooner kill the blasphemer who said "God damn it" than the one pretending to be the Devil for a play says a lot about a demon's ego.

Hell House does way too much of the interview stuff. The story jumps back and forth and back and forth. Also not good that the scariest moment in this movie is a moment from one of the earlier movies (the one where the clown’s head moves)
If they took out all the sexist stuff this movie would be awesome. Seriously every 5 minutes there's some sexist comment coming out of the actors. Every other bit of this movie was awesome.

These movies are surprisingly decent for their budget and cast. Well written story and genuine terror throughout the trilogy.

Love these movies it feels like one of those sets of discs that you'd buy with real cases of paranormal stuff
Though it's been a year, the trilogy never gets old. The actors are incredibly talented and the storyline is captivating.

The movies are fictional, but the Abaddon Hotel where the movies are filmed at is a real place & is apparently haunted as well.
The paranormal files did an investigation into the hotel itself, very good. Colin browen has one of the best channels around, enjoy.
