My dumbbell solution has been 1 inch plates and a collection of bars to serve as handles and a bunch of clamps. Most of this from a bunch of wheeling and dealing I did before covid. I'd buy a batch of stuff, sell of what I didn't want or need and usually hang on to the 1" plates of 10lbs or less, eventually kept a bunch of 25s for my cable system too. I just assemble a couple different weights and I can modify them as I need to. I even cut down a rusty 1" barbell to use for heavy DB Croc style rows. Olympic handles are kinda expensive, especially if you want long ones to load up the weight, and using anything bigger than 25lb plates becomes a problem for most movements. Loading up on 10lb oly plates is probably a bit more expensive than 1" plates. Until recently 1" stuff could be had cheap since everyone thinks oly is the shit, im not sure I would go that route today because all weights are stupid expensive, even the cheesy plastic weights! Another cheap route is a 10 foot iron pipe for probably 30 bucks, cut 3 feet of and you have a 7 foot thick barbell and a 3 foot long thick dumbbell handle.

@@GlucksGym The normal Amazon ones that you show. I have six different sets of them. After the plate came off I did a test with them, holding various weights in a static, vertical position. Four sets would hold a 10-pounder without issue, but for two sets the plate would slide all the way down the sleeve in about 15-20 seconds (one of those was the one that came off while curling). I also repeated the test with a 25-pound plate, and not one of them would hold it in position... they all slid down in only a few seconds. The Rogue HG 2.0 Axle Collars, however, can hold a 45-pound plate on them for several minutes without it moving (I stopped timing after 3 minutes). My calipers show that the sleeves on my Titan DBs are 1.944 inches (~49.4mm) while the sleeves on both my Wright Equipment Power Bar and Synergee Rhino Bar are 1.964 inches (~49.9mm). Ultimate budget gym item? Rogue Boneyard bars. If you're patient you can take advantage of whatever weird algorithm they have and get one of the best bars money can buy for literally half what you'd pay retail. E.G. you can get a Rogue 2.0 bar bare steel/raw boneyard for cheaper than the Bells of Steel shipped ($165 before shipping). Not sure why everyone is always claiming the Bells of Steel bar is the best value. I'd only choose it as part of their package, where you do end up saving enough money overall that it's worth it over a Boneyard bar. Boneyard prices haven't gone up since the pandemic started when retail has gone up like 20% or more. For an oly bar at a knockout price check out the X Training Equipment XOB. $179. I bought mine before the pandemic so it was cheaper but it's still the best deal out there for a 190k tensile bar.
Awesome video Adrian, great bang for the buck with these options! Any thoughts on doing an over the top, money is no object and once you get that Massenomics Lift Shorts level of YT cash what the best option for every piece would be iyo at that time?
I do have plans for that. The hard thing about money isn't an object is there's so many damn options so I have to decide how to limit myself so I'm not making a 3 hours video but it's definitely on my list.
Gluck and fans, I'm picking up a home gym, either Weider XRS 50 or the Marcy nearest in price. What 2nd piece of equipment, or ancillary gym equipment, should I buy to get the most additional features at a good price?

Glad to hear it and thank you!
$10 home gym budget next!
Lol home depot galvanized pipe mounted on a wall.
@@DavidDoingLife home depot bucket filled with water attached to a stick… who needs a barbell!
You're nuts Baylee
Used ring. Just one.
@@josephhoover5737 and how will he store them?
Could you make a video on how to make a home for under $1000 dollars. It would be helpful thanks.
I'm not sure if that's a joke or a typo 😂
you said she is the least coordinated person lol great review. love those benches . cant wait for your next give away . always grreeat videos.
For an oly bar at a knockout price check out the X Training Equipment XOB. $179. I bought mine before the pandemic so it was cheaper but it's still the best deal out there for a 190k tensile bar.
Rings FTW!
Wooooo
I LOVE THIS VIDEO! god its been so long
It really has been. I need to get back on these! Thanks!
Very informative!
Thank you!
You did it now Gluck. That titan bar is about to be 210 on sale for 185😂
Hahaha I don't have that kind of power
Gluck and fans, I'm picking up a home gym, either Weider XRS 50 or the Marcy nearest in price. What 2nd piece of equipment, or ancillary gym equipment, should I buy to get the most additional features at a good price?
I have a gym cage rack that is 2x3 American made. Where or how can I look to find attachments for it. The company is long gone. It was Parabody Steel. Rack Really good though and really safe. Hate to toss it.
Love it! 💯
Thanks Ricky! I meant to send you the link to the tour. I promise I'll send it over!
For cheap and convenient there’s always Dick’s Fitness Gear set for $300 with a bar
At about 7:55 you say we should order 45 x 2, 25 x 2, 10 x 4, 5 x 2, and 2.5 x 2, which totals 195 lbs. I think that combination will lets you lift every multiple of 5 lbs up to 195, with equal weights on each side of the bar. Did I get the right?
Yeah that sounds right. Then you just add 45s as you can afford and need more
What is the difference between the Titan Regular Bar and Economy Bar? Titan sells a lot of their stuff through Walmart as well and I picked up the regular bar for $80 a few weeks back. I like it so far.
Not a whole lot tbh it's just a little bit of an upgrade but if you can find either on sale they're great deals
@@GlucksGym I do like deals. And while the FB-5000 isn't on a deal you did say "just buy it anyway" in the video so I went and did that.
@@threefeetoffun Hahahah I was joking! But seriously I have like 15 benches and a rogue monster bench and it's awesome but the FB 5000 is all the bench I'd ever really need
@@GlucksGym Hey a $209 bench will go great with my $299 Fitness Realty rack. Which I very much like btw. With the lat attachment it's pretty good.
@@threefeetoffun yeah it delivers well at that price point!
Buy used. Prices now virus lock downs over are pennies on dollar vs buying new.
This year 2022 I bought
$40- tuff stuff plate loaded peck deck
$100- titan fitness cable tower
$100 - parabody vertical leg press
$100- plate loaded seated leg curl extension machine
$100- powertec pull up assist machine
$200- powertec compact hack squat leg sled
$800- powertec leverage gym with leg curl, bicep curl, tricep dip, pec fly, leg press attachments, 400lbs weights
Free- powertec dual hyper extension bench
Free- stair master climber
Free- sunny fitness spin bike
Free- 90s schwinn airdyne fan bike
Great video!
Thanks! Hope it was helpful
What plates do you reccomend for loadable dumbells? As most olympic plates are massive on them
It will be interesting tracking inflation over the years via UA-cam thumbnails :D
I tried showing some of the changes in this one. It was hard to compare perfectly as prices move so much in the extreme budget range but interesting none the less.
Does the T2 series rolling j-hooks from Titan work with the Reality Fitness Rack ?
Or do you just get T2 series Hooks ?
You forgot about adding a ring storage option. Jk 😂....sorry i cant help it
I did no such thing! 😂
Dude your a good reviewer, you don't have to just do fitness equipment. You should branch out.
Thanks, I appreciate that. Unfortunately this is all I have time for atm and the almighty algorithm is a cruel mistress.
What do you think about the Texas Bars? They even cerakote them different colors
We've got 3 of them. They're not my favorite. The knurling can be inconsistent between batches and my last one (the 29mm) had a ton of metal shavings on it out of the tube.
Just keep adding benches to the shot
Juuust leaving a comment to boost the algorithm
Every little bit helps!
I liked how you snuck in the Monster Bench with the Thompson Fat Pad both verbally and visually. Any specific reason you bought that bench? Or are you just trying to get your flat bench collection to catch up with your adjustable bench collection?
Did it make it into a clip? I figure I'll review it and doa comparison but it was an entirely uneccessary purchase.
@@GlucksGym it sure did! And don’t blame you. I upgraded from a Griffin flat bench (semi FB-5000 clone) to the Monster bench and have no regrets other than just not getting the Monster bench in the first place. Would’ve saved the money I lost selling the Griffin Bench.
@@jamestonbellajo no real reason to upgrade from the FB 5000. This is nicer but it should be for the money. Can't say I'd recommend it to everyone like I do the 5000.
Nice video. Now show us the dream gym equipment we can never afford 😂
That's on the list tbh but no idea when I'll get to it.
How consistent are Cap weights? How close to the stated weights are the actual weights of Cap plates?
I can't speak for a huge quantity but I had about 300lbs and mine were all pretty close but that was a few years ago.
Don't worry, you probably saved a lot of money, with that haircut from Wynie.
Do you even need a flat bench? Any reason to not just use adjustable one in flat configuration?
If you only have space for 1 then get a good adjustable
Hilkfit power rack
Would you recommend the CAP Barbell Power Rack? Or just go with a titan or rep?
If you can swing Titan's it's the best budget rack and goes on sale a lot.
Crochet and fall asleep at 8 pm. LOL!
It's true though!
@@GlucksGym You posted the pic to prove it! 😅

Curious why no one seems to consider the Titan midway bar for a budget option. It seems to be a good upgrade to the economy bar without much bump in price?
I don't seem to even see people mention the Economy bar much but I think at $150 you're getting close to $200 point and the options open up.
@@GlucksGym it’s 127 right now on sale from 135 where I usually see it. It’s got a rated tensile strength and double the economy weight capacity. Seems a good buy for $35ish over the economy bar.
Rings... 50% there.
Perfect idea!
Thank you!
Which is better the FB-5000 Narrow or Wide Pad?
Depends on your preference. The normal pad is 12" and the wide pad is 14" and that's pretty much the difference.
Why don't people use weight belts anymore?
I hate to ask but how do you store your weight?
And rings?
You just put the rings on the weights, it's easy!
Oh she'll do it ... soooo about that 3rd and 4th rack?
In due time 😂
wesome!
Thank you 😁
Seriously though...how do you store the rings!? 🤔
In a drawstring bag.
don't be ridiculous! ring storage is a serious thing
