- New Orleans Police Department has arrested the father of three children who died in a house fire in the Plum Orchard neighborhood of New Orleans East overnight.
29-year-old Joseph Washington is accused of setting the home on fire. He was booked on three counts of second-degree murder, three counts of cruelty to a juvenile and one count of aggravated arson.

If this doesn’t warrant the death penalty what does ?
Nothing warrants the death penalty because the death penalty has to be abolished. The US government under no circumstances should be allowed to execute its own citizens who are already in custody.
cases dating back to 2015 of DV actually did an attempted dry run of burning the house with kids and wife inside . choked wife with baby in hand and threatened the kids life . yet he is out of jail, and child protection services thinks he she be able to be around his children. Accessory to murder should be sentenced for judge and child services. should have never gotten this far they had 8 years to prevent this.

@@dorotheaspeight5998the mother left them with him because she had to work. She had a restraining order on him and still left her kids. My heart hurt for her, but God this could’ve been prevented

A mother had to work! She trusted the father to watch THEIR KIDS while she work! Understand THAT!!!
Mama was sick too. She knew how he treated her and left those babes with him anyway. She had low standards and should have made better choices to protect her family. He clearly showed he was a monster before this, and she didn't care.

Domestic violence is not taken seriously by law enforcement in New Orleans. That definitely needs to change.

I followed this story and the mother is 100% at fault for not protecting those children. With a rap sheet that long and his past history, your poor decisions cost 3 lives. Now that baby daddy is in jail, please do not have any more children going forward.

He had been arrested for domestic abuse twice in 2016. This means since then, she had two more children by him, WHY? The mother is guilty of bringing babies into a vile environment. Poor excuse for humans on both sides!

According to the grandmother, he offered to watch the kids while mom went to work. Then he called her to say he was doing this while she was at work. Mom turned around and called dispatch.

If I gotta go to work I am not leaving my kids with a man that has threatened to kill them multiple times and has been arrested for domestic violence more than once. The mother should be charged as well. She knew exactly what this man was and yet she left those kids with him anyway. There is no excuse for that.

This was a prevented situation due to fact the mom know from the first time he chocked her and threw her and said who should i kill first you or the kids that was the point she should have got a order of protection and sent her kids to family he didt have closeness with cause it seem to me he was already abusive before they had kids and she ignored them red flags cause you cant not say he didnt plan it cause he had to be mad at fact she callef police first time and divorced to him that ment whatever in his mind he didnt want the kids and she was working she should have tried leave kids else where but he probably would not let her take em cause he knew once she left for work he would kill em thats pure evil i believe if she was home to he stile would have did it with her in the house with kids .

@@genniejYeah, he was a great guy. He threatened to kill her and the children multiple times. He had been arrested for domestic violence multiple times. She had a protective order against him. Yeah, he sounds like a great person to watch the kids while she is at work. She knew he was a piece of garbage capable of violence and she still left her children with him. There is no excuse for that.
