Actually now in 2022 the NKT 275 are fetching $1000.....(you had mentioned in 2018 them going for $400.....Those days are long gone my friend I have a white dotted NKT275 Sunface AND a super rare original Sunlion with white dotted NKT275 in the Sunface part AND also in the Beano boost side.....I would not have a clue what one of those would go for because I've never seen another one to compare it to.......But it really wouldn't matter anyway because I am a player not a collector....So i just like the sound and using them......never-minding what they are worth

Great playing, great information! A little late to the party, but can I ask about the white noise level on your RCA? Does it hiss when the fuzz knob is past 3 o'clock? Thank you!
Unfortunately fuzz and noise is sort of a hand in hand affair. It does have a bit of hiss to it when cranked up. That said, the new Boss fz-1w might be a better fit if you're after something with less noise.
The Pedal is more expensive than the Katana amp lol
Actually even at the time that was untrue unless you were buying one of the sought-after transistor variants of the Sunface used (NKT Red Dots are pushing $500-$1k). While, it is true you can get the price of the Sunface around $300-$350 new with options, I think, new, I paid like $250? When I tell people this, they always react like I'm lying--Analogman doesn't really overcharge at all.
I have since received a KOT--and that was basically two overdrives in one box for $285-$375 depending on what addons you want--and those are now pushing $700-$1000. The most expensive pedal I've purchased was the Ethos Overdrive with options. That cost me around $675, and it's worth less than that used (have sold it and bought it back too?!)
Katana head new was like $375 I recall.
Also worth mentioning we didn't use the Katana head for any of the audio. All of the audio came off the Mark V 25, Mesa Boogie cabinet, and e609.

You probably wouldn't be looking for a Fuzz Face circuit based pedal in general then. Generally speaking, fuzz faces have a pretty loose low-end.

Yes. I'm aware of it. But that's more of a fuzzy drive than a fuzz pedal in-and-of-itself. It's nothing like a fuzz face really as it's a hybrid, and not aiming to recreate the sounds that a Fuzz Face is famous for. I'm a big fan of fuzzy drives too, and I think it's a great sounding box. For more of that style you might want to seek out the Cusack screamer or the Keeley Fuzzhead/Son of fuzzhead. Those pedals are similar in what they are trying to accomplish.
The Sunface is more geared towards the splatty/about-to-blow-up-your-amp sounds, and that it does really well, though with judicious use of the Gain knob you can definitely get it into a boost suitable for driving crunchy amps, it's not going to sound anything like the Analog Mk IV or the other pedals I mentioned above.
@@PracticalGuitarist Yeah I get that but I don't care for the splatty Velcro tones so I went with the low gain Aman model So will see but I'm more into clean up and fuzz overdrive tones All good glad you found your tone After several I still haven't found mine so might not even be a fuzz guy Still trying and will be my first Analog Man fuzz so is pricey but the cheaper stuff hasn't worked for me Great demo's man
@@paulcowart3174 I don't use it the same way anymore. I find that the fuzz control sounds best around 2:30 as opposed to full up. It's one of the fuzz fuzz faces I can use with humbuckers and still make it sound good.
I have tweaked the internal trimmers as well since my guitars tend to have hotter pickups.
