if you never had the rotator on , how high up can he be cutting safely < i have alot of tree's to cut of the sides of roads and need to be reaching up the banks ? , would it help to have an extension or change the angle / location of the pick-up point of the excavator ?. Cheers

@@jimharris472 Hi Jim! I'd say that will really depend on the combination of the trees in question with their likely lift point radius and the excavator being used (its maximum load and the tipping point) along with the roads surface being worked on and whether you'd have extra support of the blade available or not.
What base machine are you utilizing?
The Mini-Excavator used in the video was Kubota KX057-4 which has the base weight of 5.5 metric tonnes and actually has good documentation to show the lifting capacity in all different angles and radius by the manufacturer. In this video you could see Tenho utilizing roughly the full height and lift point radius of the excavators boom to go for the branched tops of the pines and birch, however the lifting point is then relatively closer when going for the larger base cuts.
The attachment combination in use had roughly the base weight of 400 kg (TMK 200 with Big Cylinder, the Rototilt in question & brackets). Our Solid Extension Beam for the TMK 200 would provide roughly an extra meter of reach and have the base weight of 45 kg, so achieving more stable cuts and reach with it could be the ideal thing in your situation. It is also easily detachable when not needed due to our modular design.

Can it cut hard wood like maple?

Hi Bert26a!
Yeah it will also cut maple, but the harder the wood the less the maximum diameter will be. I would say that you can cut around 150-180mm (6-7 inches) of maple with when the pressure is set correctly. HD cylinder will help to get the maximum size cut, but it will sacrifice some of the speed.
