Tohunga is a shaman who has the power to curse deals in magic, dead spirits, necromancy etc not much different to the deeper aspic of hidden catholism NOT Christian CATHOLIC religion both are different!, back in tahiti they the native would sacrifice their own males and first born to idol wooden statue gods for favours called a Marae!, the supression act was made because maori were dying of ilness from malnorismet and the heabs werent working and people both Maori and Pakeha were taking advatage of Maori throuh herbel medicine, it ironic you say pakeha were dirty yet pakeha look ans act cleaner and smell better then the majority of maori, they look after the children better then Maori do to, NOT ALL JUST A MAJORITY if you can be honest not bias.
