    Great video Matt, you are probably the only person who produces such high quality informative videos for hs/uni students looking to enter finance. I’ll be a freshman at stern in the fall and you have really helped shape my view of IB. Keep up the great work.

    Thanks for showing us a WFH day, Matt ❤ Honestly, don’t worry about these days being mundane, everyone’s work days are but we enjoy watching them and thanks for explaining what you’re working on.

    I really loved this video. It shows an authentic way of working and living in NYC as a consultant. In the end, nothing is always perfect and I really liked that you showed us, that even a consultant with a top cv doesn‘t have his desk always tidied up. I would also like to see a self-reflection/deeper video about wlb and whether it‘s possible to be in a healthy relationship while working in IB or consulting.

    Hey Matt. Love the video! Will you share your Spotify playlist? Mine’s getting stale, and it's time to switch it up. Thanks in advance, and thanks for sharing a glimpse into your world!

    Amazing content Matt ! I must ask, do you feel content creation can be detrimental to one's career in consulting/banking? The potential social/reputational/hr/legal risks are holding me back here. I know many in MBB do it but do you feel it filters some of the content/ideas you would share?

    • @matthuang21
      @matthuang21  6 місяців тому +3

      I think the real question is “can content creation be detrimental to one’s LIFE?” because many of the social/reputational/career related risks also apply to your life in general. The answer is yes, but only if you don’t exercise good judgement. Do I filter some of the content/ideas I share? Certaintly. A good rule of thumb is if you wouldn’t want something in a video to be on the front page of the Wall St Journal, then you should think carefully before posting it.
      That said, I try my best to create content that is an honest reflection of my views/experiences, and I’m a strong proponent of living life on your own terms (exercising good judgement about what you do and say) and not under fear of what others will think. Life’s too short not to take risks, and creating content is one of the biggest asymmetric risk:reward activities you can do - imo there’s minimal downside and unlimited upside potential.
      I didn’t mean for this to be such a long-winded reply, but as you can prob tell I feel pretty passionate about making these videos. Thanks for the thought-provoking question!

      @@matthuang21 thank you for the thoughtful response! I hear you, it’s about being mindful in one’s approach and taking the leap where the cost of inaction is higher than anything else.

    Hey Matt, I know you probably covered this already but I want to know if I can get into management consulting as with a BBA in management? Does everyone have to be acct/ finance experts?

    • @matthuang21
      @matthuang21  6 місяців тому +1

      Hey Phil! A BBA (assuming you mean bachelor of business admin) is perfectly sufficient for consulting. You don’t even need to major in a business related field to get in, I’ve worked with people who were English majors in college or did a PhD in Biochemistry.

    Man.. is this a typical working day for consultants (Incl. yourself)? I am happy you’re able to go to gym, grocery and film, but I don’t think it’s possible to do any of that in a typical day, am I right?

    • @matthuang21
      @matthuang21  6 місяців тому

      Yes, this was a pretty chill day so I was able to film more content. None of my "Day in the Life" videos are of a bad day because when it's truly a bad day, you're too busy to think about UA-cam.
      That said, it's quite doable to hit the gym in the morning before work if you went to sleep before midnight the night before - If you wake up at 7am you have roughly 2 hours to get up, workout, and head into the office by 9am. I used to do this when I was in investment banking and continue to do so in consulting.
      I also didn't get any groceries in this video - it was just grabbing a quick sandwich from a deli across the street which takes ~10-15 minutes total.
