Every video I say "Thanks for the video Jimmy!" because I appreciate the insight you give us to a day in the life of a real mechanic, I learn realistic strategies for diagnosis and repair and I know that there's a lot of work behind the scenes to bring all this to UA-cam... just about every damn day! So... Thanks for the video Jimmy!
Very Late to the party today, 9 hours (counting waiting room time) to take my brother to see his neurosurgeon in a city nearly 3 hours away - very long day, but good report from the Dr, now I can settle in and watch Jimmy! Hope your day was awesome Jimmy
Jimmy it shocks me how you don’t have a lot more subscribers. Your uploads are very consistent, it’s great content and believe it or not the longer the video the better at least in my opinion. I watch every single video every day before I go to work. It’s like my morning ritual. lol keep up the great work!
I appreciate your videos Jimmy and the effort that you put into them. I enjoy your diagnostic approach. The oscilloscope seems to be the "big trend" lately. Royalty Auto uses the scope quite a bit in his diagnostic approach. Royalty Auto is also giving away a big diagnostic package so that may be why their channel is taking off. Thank you for another great video Jimmy!
Yeah I saw he was doing a giveaway. I used to advertise them and scammers came out of the wood work. I actually have a couple items to give away that can’t get the winners to contact me, lol. Maybe I’ll make a dedicated giveaway video and warn everyone not to text, only use my email. Hmmmmm
Yeah this scope trend is odd to me, was trained how to use them years ago but I rarely pull it out. It's a special-use case tool but young techs are pulling them out for practically everything now which will get you burned just like a multi-meter without a loaded circuit. Recently I had a coworker stuck on a misfire because the injector ramp was normal, according to the scope it was electrically and mechanically fine. However it had indeed mechanically failed(Pintle valve wasn't moving), I had him put my stethoscope on it and it clearly was not audibly functioning. Scope waveforms are up to interpretation and the amount of guys leaving exposed holes in wires is getting out of hand too..
Jimmy I've been here since week in the shop videos. Just so you know I absolutely love the way you do the day in the shop. Been a tech for 10 yrs and I learn alot from you. Keep it up. I understand the editing sucks.
The problem with the internet in general is most people are looking for some short of shock value and want to be in a world that is almost unreal to get out of their own reality. I’ve been watching Jimmy for over a year and half now and it’s because I enjoy his honesty and integrity and I never felt like he was playing up to the camera. So I don’t know if most people want some sort of flare to make them feel entertained but to me those videos seemed to be staged or a lot of them do. Keep up the good work Jimmy. I appreciate the time you spend making these videos and especially the time you spend away from your family in doing so.
I had an under hood light that turned on when you opened the hood. On my Jeep . But when hunting out west I parked on an incline. After hunting all morning and packing out my mule deer . Yup my battery was dead . But me being me I had Jump pack. I disconnected the light 💡 😀
The american public can be very entertaining "I want my car to be as safe as possible." Mechanic - sir you need 4 tires and 1 wheel bearing "Ok thanks on my way to pick it up." Keep on rowing Jimmy!
I love your channel Jimmy. I've been a technician for 37 years, 27 with GM. I enjoy your videos because I've been there too. You get those Impalas that just kick you until you think you can't take anymore. I had one of those just like what you're dealing with and had a driver side head gasket issue. I feel your pain, brother.
(Im a month late) but ever since I discovered your channel Ive been watching religiously. No bias at all but the content is very real and raw which is why I like the channel and the longer form of videos, I know your still getting the hang of it but FORREAL keep it going man, channel is great, content is great and the creator (you) are awesome Jimmy! Your making it work and I only hope for further growth in your channel, Slowly and Surely Im sure you'll be in the trending category soon:)
Haha, great car for about another 30k. In all seriousness Ive seen them go lots of miles too. Just that when something does go wrong they can be expensive to repair.
I really enjoy your current format Jimmy! I watch every video! Usually in the evening.... sometimes I fall asleep to them after a long day wrenchin'! LOL! But I never forget to come back and torque the like button:)
I know this videos are a week behind however, my launch scan tool has an option under special functions I believe that gives you Chrysler miss fire data. I remember my old autel couldn’t so I was excited the launch did. I figured all of them had it
Good morning Jimmy! I watch Royality too! He is pretty good, but I didn’t agree with his statement on not using a scan tool first! I almost always scan first! Why not? Also Jimmy my wife and daughter are subscribing to your channel, because I ask them to help you out Brother!! Good stuff as always!
i think it's an interferometric synthetic aperture optimized for higher altitudes (inside the radiation belts). It's a 14F01 Neitron, based on the older Kondor platform.
I ran into a 2021 Dodge Ram with bad blend door, and the dealership told customer to put a ball valve on heater core lines is what they do on the newer style Dodges ! I couldn’t believe they said such a hack resolve! I heard that other places too! And look your guy did it too! Lol
I had a 18 Cadillac XT5 hvac module dropping control of the ac compressor solenoid, GM obsoleted the module. I've had 3 modules come in with different problems from Evilbay, customer settled with the module that fixed the problem, but now the hot / cold settings are reversed 😁 Must be a caddilac thing
On that rebel check the charging system (etorque) to make sure the 12VDC part is charging the 12VDC battery. The lithium battery is behind the rear passenger seat back. All those xodes sound like a low voltage issue which can affect the operation allowing the compressor to engage. That plug in OBD power module may be interfering with the system like you stated. That catalytic converter on rhe Cadillac is too close to the AC compressor in my opinion. Should have a heat shield
I'll be darned it does seem be an early-stage head gasket failure.. It was what, 150,000'ish miles but judging by the add-ons they were hard miles.. 30 year old gasket finally had enough. Hopefully he parks it and then brings it back to you for that job Jimmy, chance for you to rack up some hours and it's not every day you get to do it on an LT1
Don't be disheartened making your videos, they are exceptionally good, and far more interesting than other channels that do single car repairs, plus I am sure a lot of people watch due to your personality.............Flattery over.....now get back to work............😆😆😆😆
Jimmy works in the real world in real time , those of us whose been there done that Know's that some days its like rowing your boat in the desert , its just the way it is when your hog tied to a repair stall.
I ran into a 2021 Dodge Ram with bad blend door, and the dealership told customer to put a ball valve on heater core lines is what they do on the newer style Dodges ! I couldn’t believe they said such a hack resolve! I heard that other places too! And look your guy did it too! lol Junk cheap made Fait! Lol
The truck that needed a wheel bearing and front tires was declined. It's on the rack, a mechanic is available, and the customer still does not want the service done. I'd get frustrated to be a shop owner.
Snap-on makes really nice tool boxes, but I’d rather not spend my money on them. Their carts are what you actually work out of, which I would buy, but that’s it. Spending big money on tool storage is, to me, unnecessary.
The older vehicles are easier to troubleshoot compared to the new vehicles that can have over 20 different modules. Another thing is the young wanna be mechanics here horror stories from O.G. mechanics about low pay for the amount of work they put in. Most of these stories are dealership related. Mom and pop shop's are that customer's can't afford to pay for the repairs. I wish there was a different system were folks could develop a highly monitored repair program that folks contribute a certain amount of money monthly that can pay the shops a fair price. Those insurance and warranty scams are horrible and don't pay the small shops tbe same as a stealership. All shops participating in the reoair program should have a certain criteria they must meet ASE certified is highly recommended.
Most modern vehicles help with diagnosis to some degree. But yes there are more systems to make everything work. Luckily if a problem arises it’s usually going to be in only one of those many systems.
I consistently watch your videos and the content always keeps getting better. Would you ever do a full video of you going over how you got into the industry? Or maybe one for new automotive techs starting out?
Afternoon Jimmy. Sorry to have been rowing with a swizzle-stick lately. Lots of the people that find other creator is because of Click-bait, Dealership fail or Sludge Engine. In yesterday's SMA Eric says Dealership fails and S3x drives people to videos. Have a good day.
How sad what junk Cadillac has become. Car has less that 30k miles and the sealed and lubricated a/c is already trashed. GM is truly a generic barely get by brand at this stage. I guess giving out millions in stock options and even more to the CEO has to be paid for somehow

Please stay the course Jimmy! I like the format, variety of vehicles, and of course your personality!
Thanks, will do! Working hard and results are coming, a little each day!

Eric O had a good small scope example yesterday for a weird turn signal problem. Didn't get the Pico out and helped quickly show an issue.
Jimmy I feel ya. I watch every video. I appreciate the work.
Thanks very much Ted!
Great channel👍
Thank you 👍

Awesome as always jimmy. It's so cool today, last night everyone at work had sweats on, down to 56. Today not even 70 degrees.
Oh wow! We had 94 today and about 12,000% humidity. lol
@JimmyMakingitwork 12000%? That must be a solid wall of water lol.

It seems to work on early Chryslers but not some of the newer ones. We’ll try again on another soon I’m sure. :)
@@JimmyMakingitworkI think I heard something about registering your scan tool with Dodge. No or low fee. Don't hold me to that.....
