I use these videos to get some spicy teams compiled before the next time I visit my brother. He lives 2000 miles away, so I only visit him every once in a while, and surprising him with these matchups is going to absolutely make my day! Keep the wonderful ideas flowing.
@@MirageUchiha I got Nintendo Online, but my brother dislikes subscription based services, for some odd reasons. We trade Pokémon on Home here and there, since that costs nothing, but I have been thinking of at least getting him a Nintendo subscription card, so we can battle online. However, for now, it's nice to have time to build up some teams, since I will likely be flying over to where he lives, in a couple months.
I'll always remember the hilarious contrast in Araquanid's Pokedex entries in Sun/Moon. The former claims it straight up drowns smaller Pokemon in its bubble, while the latter offers Araquanid is caring and uses the bubble to protect weaker Pokemon.
If I remember correctly Ultra sun/Ultra moon was very similar, but instead of just saying it protects pokemon in the bubble it says that it "Puts things it wants to protect in its bubble, araquanids trainer must be careful as it may attempt to scoop them up into its bubble"
for a weak attack stat? Yeah it does. Just another example how how these numbers don’t actually matter because some Pokémon with the same attack stat and same stab doesn’t hit for half as hard. Not only the offensive stats but the defensive stats as well.
@@hera7884 what part of "water bubble" did you not understand. the game you see is just a front-end for all the math operations done on numbers that "don't matter".

It can also be ran with assault vest which is what I did gen 7 and it did well. That being said the moveset was liquidation leech life poison jab and mirror shot for special attackers
I remember using this fella in the Gen 7 days and always felt like Spidey boy is underrated. Water Bubble is such an incredible ability and Sticky Webs is fantastic support! Plus that Special D. bulk know what I'm saying!
Could you show us Breloom next? One of my personal favorites, Technician-loaded dice-grass tera Breloom is a monster. Double stab and technician buffs the 25 base power bullet seed to an astounding 75, and loaded dice makes it hit 4-5 times. It's practically a 300-375 base power move with that combo, which pairs perfectly with his ridiculous 130 base attack.
I've been trying to tell people about the ABSOLUTE TERROR that is offensive Araqanid with water bubble since it came out with Sun and Moon. Thank you for showcasing its underrated power 💪🏾 Also, day 3 of asking Haydunn for doubles content 👀
Much respect for Torkoal. After abusing gen2 in my childhood, I gave emerald a go and was surprised by how tough Torkoal was. Loved the difficulty increase
Yo i've been running this with Primarina in doubles Araquanid gets entrainment so you give primarina water bubble + araq gets wide guard to protect from the surf spam + counters flutter with it Also you could switch Prim with Ursh and you remove the unseen fist but surging strikes with water bubble hits like arceus on drugs plus you cant get burned
Caught a shiny one and used it in my playthrough of the dlc, unbelievable tanky and solid attack for a tank. Ran it with substitute, leech life, liquidation and infestation along with leftovers, great mon
Man I love these videos, having the full video along with the shorts is brilliant. I do wish you could post the builds for these Pokémon or a link in the description.
This video was absolutely great! It's really nice to see two players that play well against each other; in a way the stakes are higher, and clearly the intellectual level of play is higher as well. I like that, more of it!!
Tera water held item mystic water plus water bubble boosted liquidation....I had a whole team setup with movie and held items/abilities to boost them. The team was regidrago, Araquanid, Dhelmise, Sylveon, Bombirdier, and Aurorus. It was a fun gimmick team.
I have an idea that might be a bit of a stretch. But do you think in doubles or against the right attacker, you could use power split to help increase his attack stat. For example, throw out slaking and araquanid, power split slacking to distribute attack, and then araquanid can hit even harder 😊
Choice Band Araquanid has been one of my favorite Pokémon to lead with during the last few weeks. People are never prepared for the high damage Liquidation, it's so funny
If you take sets from other, I ran back in Gen VII, An AV set, 252 attack adamant, 200 spdef and 56 def. Leech Life, Mirror Coat, Poston jab and Liquidation for attacks and this below shows that AV power 252 SpA Choice Specs Tapu Koko Thunderbolt vs. 56 HP / 200 SpD Assault Vest Araquanid in Electric Terrain: 240-284 (82.4 - 97.5%) -- guaranteed 2HKO Timid Specs Koko in terrain never Ohko'd unless it was a crit, Tapu Lele with Psyshock ohkos in terrain but that's based off the 0 ev invested Defense, even Modest Psychic does 66.3% at most, 85.9 with a crit Add in the fact that Mirror is 2x damage dealt meant that Araq usually Ko'd most of its 1v1's if they used a Special attack. If you wanna invest slightly more defensively, then a careful nature and less SpDef Evs works as well, though you SEVERELY trade offensive power for special longevity
I genuinely don't get why hidden ability effects are still a thing. How hard is it to add "water type moves deal bonus damage" to the ability description.
Would love to see araqanid get a mega evo coming with ZA. It could resemble a oger spider by flipping it upside down with its water bubble and face it would resemble a false moon make dark/bug. Slow it down to 12 spd so it's better than stakkataka in trick room 160 atk 142 defs 68 hp it would be as defensive as a mega diance with the physically power of a slaking.
Swords Dance Jumpluff was a lot of fun in the lower tiers back in the day. Obviously Sleep Powder is the main perk, but Infiltrator is pretty handy as well.
Use Zebstrika next, defs one of my fave mons returning! Sap Sipper makes it so that it has more opportunities to switch in, plus it has now new toys to play with in Supercell Slam and High Horsepower.
I did the battle tree super modes to 50 rounds with araquanid, i hate spiders but i love araquanid! 😂, water bubble adds so much value to an otherwise low attack pokemon, it has decent defence! Tho i always struggled chosing how to spread the evs... always max in attack, but never could decide to either put max on defence or mix between hp and defence -_-, hp came with the upside of sp also getting more value but then defence would be low
