Who else was hella stoked when they first evolved Trapinch back in gen 3, and saw it was a dragon type? Then you get the coolest looking dude in Flygon. Man, it was a highlight of my ruby/saphire days

Same the moment I saw drake with it I had to have it and then came salamence and my jaw dropped on the floor. That race to get both was intense.
the best part was Vibrava evolves again so it doesn't stay as an awkward evolution like Scovillain/Ledian/Marowak/Sunflora and it learns F L Y 🤩
I'm still mad they didn't give Flygon a mega evolution tbh It really deserved it over garchomp.

I can appreciate the honestly to why with a artist block happening but that’s when you pass it to the next guy to make, Sableye and Glailie shouldn’t of been priorities over Flygon
Apparently the designer Ken Sugimori had some massive artist's block when it came to Flygon in particular

Would really like to see you use Noivern. It's my favorite dragon type, and seeing it in the 2nd game gave me an hankering for the Batty Koda lookalike. It's super underused, mainly because it has pretty crap abilities for singles, but it looks too cool to just leave out in the rain.
Never seen a Lum Berry cure 2 status conditions, what a time to be alive.
Also, like if you think Flygon should be either Bug or Flying type over Ground

Just the other day I was wondering if Lum Berry would ever be able to heal two statuses in a competitive match (confusion + another ofc) when I used one from the bag in an in-game match, and today I got my answer.

Tera forming is objectively the best mechanic this company has come up with. I hope they keep this.
I always thought the mechanic looked ugly. Which is why I liked Megas more. But competitively speaking, it's the best mechanic ever.
@@filipecoimbra222 They could make the actual look of Tera Forms more subdued, with an Element Symbol floating above each Terastalized Pokémon, and that would probably look a little better than wearing strange crystal hats.

How on earth are you able to put such different teams together so quickly? I’m not even sure how EV/IV training even works anymore, but I learned how to do it during the gen 6 era and all I know is it took forever to get your Pokémon ready to rock and roll.
There’s no real effective way to EV train this Gen. The best way get a competetive mon this Gen is also very simple: grind money. Get a bunch of money and buy the EV boosting supplements. Assuming you don’t already have any, it takes 500,000 per Pokemon to max it out (plus a couple feathers).
@@MiffyMagnum this, but you don’t need feathers for the last few points, just some weak mons that give out the points you need.

Flygon's been one of my favourites since it's introduction.
I remember finding a shiny Trapinch in Ruby, absolutely loved it's colour scheme as a Vibrava, but then found shiny Flygon was a bit "meh".

hey Haydunn, great vid, i just love flygon so much. I made a build with fire punch/outrage/earthquake/first impression, put a Tera Fire and a assault vest, this thing can put some crazy damage in my sun team. The Tera makes his x4 weakness into a resistance, imune to ground moves with the levitate and makes fire punch hit hard in the sun + stab. First impression is pretty clutch also with the priority and quite unexpected into flygon. Anyaway, just love the google flying lizard!

Flygon is a very fun pokemon. Not my favourite, not in my team, but a cool fella anyway, and I am happy for its existence

If only it isn't stuck with Levitate in all of its ability slots. Arena Trap, Sandstream and Tinted Lens seem like nice abilities. Preferably with Sandstream and Sand Spit buffed so the Pokemon that have them benefit from the SDEF boost (like how Sand Rush/Cloak are always immune to the damage even if the type don't match).

I like to go special flygon with terra bug throat spray. (Boom burst, bug buzz, earth power, not sure what 4th should be. Flamethrower for now. Was debating scorching sand for earth power as well. Suggestions?

Or a new ability like "Desert Strider" that combines Levitate and Overcoat.
Flygon with Dragon Dance, immune to Ground and most paralyzing moves. Not bad, but Salamence is still my favourite dragon.
