gotta admit i like the original grunt of those nascar motors i believe these batmobiles came with?
I can still remember the disappointment i felt when i first heard this car racing at Donington. Having been a massive fan of the rolling thunder rumble of the gtr1 and roadster S, this just sounded like everything else on the grid (plus it was nowhere near as competitive).
In the states they originally ran a Rouch 6.0 V8 and later a 4.0 Zytek.
the Panoz LMP07 did run with a Zytek 4.0L V8(maybe ZG408? 2ZG408? no idea about the name of that engine at the time) but the Roush one must have been the Esperante Roadster S with the Windsor 6.0L aka Elan 6L8 tuned by Roush. the Esperante Roadster S had a completely different look than the LMP07, looking more like the original Panoz Esperante GTR-1/GTP

Gotta say the closed top Panoz sound better.. it's a deeper V8 rumble.
A trombone or tuba, this Honda powered is more of a trumpet.
My dad had a very fitting description of the sound.... like a bunch of metal trash containers thrown down a underground garage
