  • In this episode of the Gracie Way, you'll join Rener on his trip to North Carolina where he taught a string of seminars at several Gracie Garages. Rener teaches you some sick details on the Reverse Triangle Choke, shows you how to body surf in a wave pool, and then he shares a closely guarded secret about himself. People always ask the Gracie Brothers, "what do you guys do for fun?" and at the end of this episode, they show you.

It's so humbling to see you go out of your way just to teach some gracie garage students! I love it man! You are most definitely the grandson of Helio! So great to see his vision a reality with you and your family as the forefront.

@Nola213 He says "pegando jacaré", literally "alligator catching". It is a well-known Brazilian slang for body surfing a wave. He even speaks in a very noticeable - to Brazilians, I mean - carioca (Rio de Janeiro native) accent.

Great stuff. My Father also taught me how to "ride waves" just like that when I was little, at Jones Beach on Long Island. He was the master, riding breakers through 10 yards of broken shells that made up the shallows there. I can still remember his stomach would be all cut up by days end. Now it's called "body surfing" or whatever.
What is that exact Brazilian translation of it mean I wonder. Like to English @ 7:47 ??
I think I heard Jacare at the end? isn't that a gator reference?

Reason #1 why I prefer watching any Pacquiao vs. Marquez fight over MMA 08:22 However, I do agree 100% about those artificial pillows at hotel rooms. The Gracie's have developed a strong efficiency to their craft though and I realize that a lot of people enjoy the MMA. So they are doing something right.
