Congratulations for your 2nd Pikes Peak win Seth, 3min less in the Ascent, you are so amaizing, looking forward to the vlog tomorrow, enjoy the Andy's with your familly :) Notes: your ascent time 2021 (2:06:44) is close to the legend Joe Gray ascent record on 2016 (2:05:28) and faster than of Kilian Jornet time in 2019 (2:09:12), hoping you will reach Matt Carpenter record (2:01:06), cheering from Montréal.
PIKES PEAK!!! LETS GOOOO!!!!! Go get em Seth!!! No matter where you finish whether it be 1st or not, you are a champion in my book! Vlogs , family, training, racing? A champion indeed.
@@ndi5670 not sure. I believe he did the ascent. I got lucky and turned the stream on right as they were mentioning Seth being in the lead making his way towards the finish. So happy for Seth and fam.
@@gregprevite8548 thank you. You better believe it! He has definitely had a training session this year with selling the old house, buying a new one and moving, along with maintaining his channel. WOW! A well deserved win.

Seth, your are truly an inspiration. When I get in that pain cave I often think, what would Seth do. And you know what? I just start smiling. Thanks for doing what you do. I saw your race live and you were so in control that it was a running lesson. Just epic.
This weekend's long run was scheduled to be 17-18 miles on Saturday the day before this hurricane got to the northeast and it was hotter and more humid than i anticipated and I most certainly under fueled. I did manage to grind and grit myself to 17 miles at a much slowed pace from my usual and then proceeded to lay on the beach where I finished until my mom could come pick me up because i was so fatigued. I watched this just before watching you finish this morning. Congratulations Seth!
Congratulations on the Back to Back wins of the Pikes Peak Marathon!!! 3 seconds slower than last year! Incredible Job!! Andies time!!!!!! GREAT JOB SETH!!!!
Crushed it on the ascent! PPM website currently shows 2 hr 6 min 44 seconds. Looks like the best PPM or PPA ascent time since 2016 when Joseph Gray finished the PPA in 2 hr 5 min 28 seconds.
Have a strong run Seth. This morning I ran strong and ran half marathon distance. My longest run of the year after tearing my meniscus at the start of the year. With a waiting list of over a year for an operation I instead had physio and did lots of rehab and leg strength work. The hard work is paying off as the knee is holding up well as I increase distance. Hoping to run another marathon before the end of the year. DGR strong 💪
Bread buttered again!! So cool to see your family at the finish line (Livestream). My family was wildly cheering from our NC living room! (And asking politely for Jam Jam to move a little to the right 😁). Great work Seth, Trust. Andy's. Rest. And now, get that house settled into!!!
First of all: GO GET EM SETH!! Then My "long run" this week was 13 miles (Sat)... was planning on getting some trail action. On Friday found out about a local half marathon on some walking paths in the woods, so we showed up on race day and registered 😁 Still ran it at "long day pace" and had fun along the way. Actually ended up just a bit faster than planned, and was able to test out a pair of my shoes at a longer distance/ slower pace, so definitely learned a lot there. Glad I did it! 🙌🏼 and like everyone has said in the COTD this weekend: SO very grateful for all the volunteers, especially since in our case it was very humid and lots of mosquitos 😬 the volunteers were awesome! lots of "thank you for being here" was said! 🙏
not quiet a race goal, just back home in Ireland from doing the TMB in 6 days with a great friend (it was fantastico) my hope was to meet Seth, or maybe Courtney Dauwater, in Chamonix or even in passing in the Airport! But alas my flight was today. On the upside ive 10 days of DGR vlogs to catch up on and have avoided any spoilers on Pikes Peak
Seth first time runner of the ascent and my goal was to do it in a sub 6 hour. Thanks for the motivation and enjoyment of your videos! Good luck today as I know you crushed it!
Congrats Seth! Well deserved! I counted on getting updates from the DGR community here on the race and they did not disappoint! So amazing! Andy’s for the W! 🍦🥇
First of all, wow congrats on PPM win #2!! Second, thank you for the idea of the vest!! I live on the gulf coast and can't get much vert but the vest I bought a month ago really seems to be helping with my strength. My race is on 9/11 in CO and hopefully the training with the vest will help!
Good luck today Seth! racing the 100, 200 and competing in the Shot Put. Never have done any of these events before. I haven’t raced in 8 years. Honestly a bit nervous how it will go but will do my best.
Incredible race Seth! Early congrats from me. Super motivating! I ran a 2 mile time trial for cross country yesterday(I’ve been sick all week so it was a struggle). Thought of you running this race the whole time lol. It’s always a good push to know that there are others grinding the same way that you are. Thanks for the videos Seth!
Adding my huge congratulations for the repeat Big W! Your community is so proud of you! QD: couldn’t watch your race because I had to do my first 18 mile LR in my Boston training cycle: the race 7 wks from tomorrow 🥳 My hope is to have a blast and finish in one piece! Martha
Good luck Seth! Cheering for you all the way from Germany. Long time subscriber, first time commenter (I watch UA-cam on my TV so I rarely comment on anything) - hope to give you that extra bit of support today!
QD: I did a 28,5K and 300m+ trail around a lake nearby in Friday, yesterday easy hiking and 13,3K trail today. Tomorrow last long Trail before two back to back races the weekends ahead, a 50K and 100K ultra. Second 100K this year. Good luck on your mountain Seth and GREETINGS FROM SALZBURG/AUSTRIA!!!
QD: My hope for the Pikes Peak Marathon: I realized today that I have always assumed that I was afraid of the pain associated with running this type of race. But truly, I am not afraid of the pain. I have always been afraid that when the pain comes, I will back down and play it safe. Maybe that means taking the pace down a notch, or stopping too long at an aid station, or stopping to adjust my shoes when all I need to do is push and push the pace and GET IT DONE.
QD : I am training for my first marathon this November. Ran 16 miles for the first time on Saturday, felt great as I didn't go out too fast as usual. Maybe this is what gaining a bit of maturity feels like :D.
I ran 16 miles the other day too. When I finished, I asked myself if I could run another 10 miles, the answer was no lmao. I guess I was running un-aided and it started getting pretty hot, but still a long ways to go before I feel confident running a strong marathon. Good luck on your journey too.
I'm training for my first half marathon ~ Oct. 3 in Sacramento, CA. I ran 10 miles for the first time yesterday and had enough in me to sprint the last half mile!!! I'm a 69 year old female. It's never too late......
@@Janet_Price Agree! I started running at 58, did my first marathon in late 2019 at 68 and BQ'd, going to Boston in 7 wks 👊🏻 Crush that first HM! In some ways it’s easier on us older gals. Check out age grading calculators, which will make you feel extra good about your accomplishments.
9:16 you also have a serious Advantage I'm basically having Pikes Peak in your backyard. Not just the ability to run on a trail to get the fitness, but you also know the trail very well. So you have a tactical advantage, possibly even strategic, as well as your incredible gift of speed.
Good luck, but there's is no need to compare with others one. Everyone has a different anatomy, different vo2Max. This race is so intensive, just focus on bettering you're personal best. Keep the focus on yourself
Seth, I adapt that same mentally when I’m in a pool/billiards tournament, I don’t want to know my opponent ahead of time nor do I keep track of what stage I’m at, I just keep playing and taking it one game at a time, one match at a time, I’ve ended up in the finals many times and that’s when I find out cause I’m just focused on the mission and doing my best.
QOD: First night race of my life, the Windfall Full Moon Trail Race in Alpine, CA (about 30 minutes east of San Diego) on Saturday night was epic. My hope was to enjoy the 15K trail adventure. One thing about racing at night (only with a headlamp that lights up your path in front of you, and on a mountain 3,000 feet above sea-level) is you have no clue what's awaiting you up ahead. Steep uphills and steep downhills on a narrow technical course can catch you off-guard, but that's the thrill of racing at night. As opposed to running morning trail races; not having to endure the mental stress of seeing those hills (especially the steep uphills) up ahead, allowed me to enjoy every step of the race.
Good Luck Seth! QoD: not racing today but when I do race especially challenging ones i.e. first 1/2, first Ultra, my incentive is to face my fears, my insecurities about myself because I know when I do I come out "mentally" stronger on the other side.
Seth's ascent time was 5+ minutes faster than Joe Gray's winning ascent time yesterday, just awesome.
