I own a Cub Cadet Pro Z 700 with the OEM bagging system and I can tell you this thing is built like a TANK. Every time I walk by it, I am amazed at how well built it is and how thick all the medal is. Such a pleasure to mow with and the seat is nicer than my couch. I could not be anymore happier with my purchase!
I LOVE that the gas tanks are in the back behind the deck as it is vital for the mower to be able to see what's going on around the area where the blades are cutting just in case they come upon something that doesn't need to be sliced up. That's saves money, mowers reputation, the wrath of angry customers and insurance claims for damages.
My lady and I just bought our first riding mower and it was a Cub Cadet Ultima 54". I was suppose to be the one mowing the lawn, but she loved it so much she is now the one who likes to mow the lawn. Great design. Easy to use, and reliable. Good on gas as well. Thank you Cub Cadet.
We've had a M60 Tank for nine years with almost 2000 hours on it just mowing our yard. It was time to buy a new one and after looking at other models and brands we decided to look deeper into the ProZ and after looking, decided on sticking to the ProZ 960 because it is like the M60 but, on steroids! This mower has a great quality cut and the power to mow big fields like we have...It has a really smooth ride and the power for our bumpy ground..By far I have recommended this mower to my friends and one of my buddies went and bought his new mower after riding on mine. Two thumbs up!!!!!
Been mowing 20+ years with only exmark and Dixie .. I think it’s good to see guys like you giving companies like cub a chance to promote product. Great video. It’s gonna take time for cub to establish a serious dent into this market but it can be done as long as they push the envelope. Thx for sharing!
Great review, as a consumer, since that has a built in compressor, I would recommend them to add a hose line with a tire chuck. They can use a quick disconnect for storage. It would work double duty to air up the tires out in the field just in case of air loss or small tire punctures.
That neutral lever is a heck of a benefit. I wish my Lazer was that easy. Especially this spring when I have been stuck in mud a couple times a day some days and had to winch myself out. I’m seriously impressed with that Cub. I’ve ran Exmark, Toro and SnapperPro. This thing definitely looks like a very strong competitor.
I bought a new pro z 960 Aug 2020 after looking at your review videos probably 10 times. It's working out great 154hrs to date 2 loose bolts on the steering shocks are the only hiccups but no loss mowing time. Thanks to your review I was able to make the correct buying decision for me. I call it the bosses mower, sit high mow often.
Thank Brian, I am excited to see your review on this mower! After looking at all of the comments, it would seem that most think of Cub Cadet as a residential mower brand. They are very much a residential mower company but have excellent commercial mowers as well. I think the rep misspoke when he said they have been working on commercial mowers for the past 3 years. I believe he was referring to the Pro Z Series mowers. My family sold Cub Cadet mowers in the early 2000's and sold Commercial Zero Turns. In fact I still mow my mothers 6 acre yard with one of them, the M60 Tank. It's over 15 years old and still a beast. Cub Cadet has been in the heavy duty zero turn commercial business for a while. I would say that the Pro Z 900 series is several steps up from the Tank, and the Tank is a great mower!
Cub Cadet makes their money on residential so it looks like they just said...let's way over design our commercial product in order to get market share. Very impressive...excellent review!
I really badly want to Roast you for Admitting that you aren't a "Professional Mower," But I'll be Nice... Ok, I can't keep it in, *Nobody is a "Professional Mower." We're called Lawn Care Providers... Your pretty Silly if you think your a mower... 😂
Sounds like somebody is going to start creeping up on the competition. This looks like a solid competitor. I recently bought a new exmark and I'm not overly excited about the cut. The cut is where it's at for me.
Wow, A game changer indeed even the tires and rims resist cut grass and look brand new, Not even a lick of grass juice on them after leaving such beautiful stripes. Amazing
I own a Cub Cadet garden tractor and have had great success with it. Was looking to upgrade and change brands. But now, Cub has offered a promising pro machine , that is well thought out, heavy duty with a reputation for reliability. Just need to price it right to stay competitive. Good introduction from Cub Cadet Rep.
Ha! Couple times he said “Some companies only do X while we do 2x” Like the double bracket on the anti scalp wheels. That’s what my brand new Cub ZT2-50 has, single bracket anti scalp wheels. Granted, it’s ‘only’ a residential machine but, still, he was knocking it. Love the ZT2-50, by the way. Another thing, tonight was marveling at the beefy front wheel housing. No zerk fitting so disassembled it to see how to grease it. No grease but two good size bearings inside. However, was expecting to see about a 7 inch screw holding it together but it was a puny one incher!! Still, the bearings will support it nicely and it appears totally adequate. Still love the residential ZT2-50.
blorph1 he wasn’t reviewing a residential machine , he was making those comments about the commercial machine in this video. Why are people comparing their residential machines to this one . Two completely differently levels of build quality
Currently have the new Cub Pro walk behind in a 54”, and just traded our Cub pro Z 148 to a Pro Z 560. They are legit. Very heavy duty, cut great. I have owned or used most major brands, the new Cub Pro Line is as good as any and a little cheaper ( as long as it’s Apples to apples) at this point. Thanks for the vid!
Absolutely love cub cadet i have been running commercial cub for the past 3 years. Im so happy to see it on the channel and seeing your view on the machine. As well if you can try to talk to cub about the bagger unit. Thats the only issue i have been having is the vac just isnt as efficient as others being the older model 2014-2017ish has there secondary fans mounted on the back instead of on the deck. Doing leafs i have trouble with the leafs getting blown out from under the deck!!!!
I would love in your review to say how the cut quality compares to your exmark and a Scag or any other big name mower brands you personally like. That would be amazing!
I have a 972 cub with the sticks and it is a comfy beast. The thing is all steel except the gas tanks, but nimble and powerful. 35hp is no joke. After 150 hours all it needs is oil changes and blade changes.
Wow that looks like cub cadet is stepping up there game!! As a lawncare pro, I’d like to see it mow some tall grass, how well it stripes and maybe how well it can handle hills. That would be awesome Brian! I’ve had so many issues with my scag I’m looking at another mower. I have a Ferris and I like it but exmark is in the running. That looks well thought out! Thanks Brian for the updates and the reviews man! As a lawncare pro I’ve learned a lot from your channel.
Brian, Aaron, what a great video........These mowers rock.....I have four of them in my fleet.....The steering wheel model is the only way to go if you mow on wet or properties with slopes. My Scagg and Exmark lapbar mowers are now my backup mowers.
Went to purchase a Scagg or an Exmark two years ago. The dealership had just gotten the Cub commercial series mowers in and they were talking them up over the other two brands. I couldn't deny they looked very well made with what appeared to be heavier steel construction and they were running the Kawi engines so I pulled the plug on a $10k Z760L model. After 2 years of ownership cutting my 7 acres of normal midwest property, I can say without a doubt that this was one of the biggest mistakes I've ever made. It never cut evenly from day one, so after fighting with the dealership for several months about it, they finally replaced the deck and said it was a factory assembly issue and they did cover all parts cost, but charged me labor. When i got it back it was better, but still cut noticeably uneven. I resigned to accepting that it was just the way it was going to be. Unfortunately there has been several other issues I've had to repair just to keep it in working order. Maybe i got a lemon, but I would sell this thing in a second if it weren't for the fact I will lose my butt. Do your homework on retail values! And listen to actual owners, not manufacturers hype!
Awesome beginning review. It’s has some great features for a commercial machine. Just seeing and hearing the review made me want one. Looking forward to your honest review of this beast!
I Watched Brian mow with it in wet grass and it had plenty of power and cut nice even with it being wet. I was very surprised with how well it cut, not sure how durable it will be in long run but was surprised like I said.
I have a Cub Cadet rider with a 46 inch deck. Thinking about putting a bigger deck on it next year. I love it. I also have a 36 inch blade for pushing snow in the winter. It is used, but best investment I made!!!
This is my day I'm mowing and I go under a small tree on my mower and a low branch knocks my 400 dollar ray bans on the ground and the mower sucked it in like it was meant to be and I remembered a video you did about lawns with low branches it's also dangerous too I will listen harder next time hope your having a much better day
I have a 50"cut zero turn cub cadet 12 yrs old,the best yet that I have owned, I use this mower ALL the time plus cutting other lawns.Never had any problems with mower, 23hp kawasaki, I do my own service on mower plus I work on customers mowers.name it I have probably worked on it.l did something different to mine (not saying you should too )I made mine a six (6) BLADE mowing deck.WORKS GREAT. For the money an great or low up keep, cub cadet
I had a cubcadet way back in the beginning 12 years old and still was in good shape kohler engine. Now have a Gravely but I'm going to give this a look!!! Sweet
I'm actually pretty impressed just from the video review. We have a dealer nearby but they also deal Ferris, Kubota, Exmark, and John Deere. Huge dealer. So I've always skipped past the Cub Cadet stuff thinking it wouldn't work for commercial applications. I'll have to actually look at one next time I'm picking up blades or whatever.
Thank you for appreciating it! Sometimes we take the regularity of youtube videos for granted. These take dozens of hours to edit film and shoot. Glad to do it for those who appreciate it! 👊👊
I bought a ZT 2 50" and I like it. Cuts real well! Seat is much improved as well. I would like to see larger engines. In my opinion a 50", 54". 60" should have 25-27 HP.
@@allenlagrave802 I know what I'm saying is other makes like Bad Boy and Bobcat have models that are residential but more closely matched to commercial mowers with the larger pumps and higher speeds. To me it makes sense to have larger deck mowers with higher power levels even if they are residential!
This is quite the improvement for Cub Cadet. This looks like an everide that I picked up, it has been abused and it still going strong. Nice to see sealed bearings, those do all your work for cutting.
Man I used a residential cub before and even that was very comfortable and really nice cut. Wow that thing is HEAVY!!! If it’s a slight rainfall don’t even think about pulling it off the trailer
@@cmusic52 I'd still like to see him review it. The steering wheel vs the sticks and how it does with turf damage. I looked at one a month or so ago. It looks huge because of the dually set up and large front tires on a steering rack.
I'm on thousands of hrs and no grease on exmarks sealed bearings screw greasing . more time/aggravation/ mess = Mow Money Outda Pocket. ( I'm literally talking an 05 turf tracer hp on original spindles "F" greasing)
Hey Brian its Rocco from R &J here in ct I know your exmark all the way and I'm scag all the way but I have to admit that pro z 900 made me look twice so I can't wait to see how it cuts it should be unbelievable but the price is up there as well. I guess you will find out always enjoy your videos so please keep them coming there appreciated thanks your friend Rocco from ct tell the mrs I said hello.
Thanks for getting to this mower. I asked for a review last year when I found the channel. Looking forward to your thoughts on this as well as the steering wheel version if you get a chance.
Wow did he really just say everything about this mower! From the thickness to little tiny things on this mower. I normally like to go to the store and see what I am buying, but now I don’t have too
We looked at a 900S which is more than a steering wheel it has synchronized steering which allows it to hold a 25 percent hill without turf tear. They are also going to have a stander coming this year.
I bought the cub cadet rzt sx54 a year ago. All in all it's a good mower, just not for my mowing conditions. I mow about 6 acres of steep rocky land with fescue and other grasses. I paid about $4k for it and it does okay. Now I know the features I really need and the mower in this review is what I should have bought. The taller tires, wider stance, more HP, and beefer/weightier frame with power steering would be nirvana. Now if I can talk the wife into a $14k purchase only a year later.
Good evening. Wanted to say thank you again for your advice on Exmark Radius X line. Dealer by me gave me a 3wk demo. Fresh out of crate. He's also going to let me do a Gravely and a Cub. Like I said b4 just John Doe home/land owner looking for a quality rugged and reliable unit. Appreciate your time. Thanks.
You aught to see if they will add the chute restricter plate to that mower. Its a really neat addition, i have one on my pro z 500. I have a few issues with it though, and would like to see if you had the same. Thank you for your time and making such great videos!
Looking at that beautiful field behind you and screaming, "Why are you just standing there yakking?!?" Subscribed. Riding a 13 year old Dixie and getting ready to move on.
I actually have the residential ZT1 50, welded deck, Kawasaki engine.... honestly...I could use it for mild commercial..... thing is framed well, no plastics in the way to important areas. It's built like a tank for a residential unit. I only wish they had put grease fittings in critical areas, and bigger more serviceable transmissions.
Great reveiw i really enjoy Brian's input and I like Cubs, we just purchased a ZT1 42 because properties are 1/4 with obstacles... very happy except has a stamp deck 3 point hold, much rather have 4 point fabricated. The bagger on back makes the whole thing too long and bagger is all plastic which makes it useless to turn around and not hit something
Seems really solid. Looks like it needs wider rear tires. Don't like the split tanks. I've got 13 gallons in 1, I like that. 1 less thing to think about. I'd buy the seat for sure. Can I buy just the seat?
Gooder ride ? Is that even a word ? Ok forget I mentioned gooder lol . I just started a lawn care business and went out and bought a spartan but i think the Pro 900 would be the cats ### ! If you need a tester hit me up lol . You have made this mower sound like the next best thing to cream cheese and bagels .
Word on the street. Vibration on the deck. And it’s a once’s week cutter. How many acreage can this thing cut. It said 1 to 2 .....curious. Spring time I’m looking for a zero turn.
Problem. You haven’t answered my questions above. Maybe you should have your sales guy come visit me before I remotely think about buying one. I own there tractor . But the reviews are getting slammed.....so convince me and the rest of everyone else that’s reading this.....
Sounds like a well built/ thought out design. The neutral feature is nice. Also the float feature would come in real handy for doing rural/ newer lawns with rough grades. Stumps/ ruts etc.
Most important item and it wasn't addressed. How difficult is it to work on and do maintenance? Leaving grease fittings off the spindles raises a red flag for me.
This is great. I have 21 inche push mower that is cub cadet and I enjoy the mower. Also, I used the same mower for the 6 yards that I'm mowing. Just wondering if cub cadet make stand on mowers?
First I bought a Pro Z 160L it was a bit small for me @6'6" so I sold that unit and stepped up to a Pro Z 760L and its the best Zero turn I've ever owned! just a beautiful very capable machine with regular maintenance I'm confident it will be the last mower ill ever have to buy.
Back when they built real equipment. I admit my 2018 Cub Cadet XT1 42" 18HP does a dang good job, but not built nearly as well as those old iron garden tractors 20+ years ago. Currently only have 28.3 hours on my XT1 but so far its doing great, I do want to get a bagger for it, and I bought the 42" snow blower as well and got to use it once last winter LOL, but it did a great job.
I just purchased the new cub cadet ultima ztr and it’s a solid unit. It definitely stood out from the other residential ZTRs at the big box stores. I also like that they have started using Kawasaki motors on even their residential units The ultima is also super beefy just like that one, I think that was one of the first aspects that stood out.
I still like my 72" yanmar powered JD zero turn with grease fittings with wide tires on back helps keeps the machine up when going thru the mud and soft spots
By the way Brian excellent commentary today,,, I must say this guy had his sales pitch down pat,, I've heard many a sales pitches but he lays it on thicker and heavier as time goes on,,,lol!!
The salesman was very informative and knew his product. Great video
Always a breath of fresh air when they actually know what they’re talking about.
I met Aaron at our cub spring training a couple years ago, very cool guy to talk to and know everything there is to know on the cub pro line

As it should be. Nothing worse than a rep that can’t answer simple questions. He earns his money.
How to change a transmission belt

@@EPIC50CAL24 not on the ultima series. Highest I've seen is 24hp.
J J the ultimate series is not part of the commercial line. The commercial machines like the one in this review have the bigger engines
@@allenlagrave802 I know what I'm saying is other makes like Bad Boy and Bobcat have models that are residential but more closely matched to commercial mowers with the larger pumps and higher speeds. To me it makes sense to have larger deck mowers with higher power levels even if they are residential!
Larger the horsepower the more they charge . I have the ZT 1 with 54inch deck . 24 HP is adequate .
My 1971 Cub Cadet 126 has a float mode like that, good to see they haven't forgotten how useful it is after 50 years.
They make a nice walk behind that is in need of a review. I think you should ask them about that and the big dually steering wheel model.
that big dually steering wheel model is just a steering wheel version of this one with some options for duallys
@@cmusic52 I'd still like to see him review it. The steering wheel vs the sticks and how it does with turf damage. I looked at one a month or so ago. It looks huge because of the dually set up and large front tires on a steering rack.
There is no such thing a maintenance free bearing, Give us grease zerks and tapered roller bearings instead of sealed ball bearings.
Ok "idiot proof" bearings, because 80% of owners are idiots who won't grease bearings . contractors are not known for their care for equipment.
I'm on thousands of hrs and no grease on exmarks sealed bearings screw greasing .
more time/aggravation/ mess = Mow Money Outda Pocket.
( I'm literally talking an 05 turf tracer hp on original spindles "F" greasing)
That's a nice looking machine! Can't wait to see how it mows!
I’ve been in the industry for 15 years and of course for most of that I’ve used x marks. But I must honestly say, I am very impressed.
You bet brother
We used to have a cub cadet ride on now my dad bought a 44 inch gravelly zero turn and I must say it's fun to ride on
Everyone laughs at my Cub Tank M60 until they try it. Its a whole Cadillac, we love it.
this dude is hitting all the mowing channels
They’re doing a large campaign, can’t blame them!
Nice review and great looking mower!
This is the video I’ve been waiting on . Watching it now .
Thanks for getting to this mower. I asked for a review last year when I found the channel. Looking forward to your thoughts on this as well as the steering wheel version if you get a chance.
The hydro release is awesome looking, wish it was on 1 of my 5 grasshoppers
Just bought a 2019 Hustler SDX 54" and love it!
I have had my Gravely Pro 252 since 2005 and it's been great I will buy another Gravely if I ever wear this one out.
I like it, fantastic over view. Cant wait to see how it does!
Hi Brian, do you mind sharing the add-on to the bed of your truck,? The black enclosure for.added space it looks like
Buyers Dump Insert!
Now that is an impressive machine! Nice job to them. Looking forward to seeing the reviews!
Love the mower and the video as always! I was hopping to see it run though but that’s another video
Wow did he really just say everything about this mower! From the thickness to little tiny things on this mower. I normally like to go to the store and see what I am buying, but now I don’t have too
Looks like the best mower iv ever seen
We looked at a 900S which is more than a steering wheel it has synchronized steering which allows it to hold a 25 percent hill without turf tear. They are also going to have a stander coming this year.
Sick mower, Aaron sure knew his stuff,
Awesome! Can't wait too see your thoughts on this mower!
Thanks.
You bet Michael rock on
You aught to see if they will add the chute restricter plate to that mower. Its a really neat addition, i have one on my pro z 500. I have a few issues with it though, and would like to see if you had the same. Thank you for your time and making such great videos!
The more competition out there the better!
Amen!
Looking at that beautiful field behind you and screaming, "Why are you just standing there yakking?!?"
Subscribed. Riding a 13 year old Dixie and getting ready to move on.
Look into a Hustler Z mower.
We have a old 60" Cub zero turn. Has had a few things done to it including a drive pump but it does have over 1400hrs on it👍
Great reveiw i really enjoy Brian's input and I like Cubs, we just purchased a ZT1 42 because properties are 1/4 with obstacles... very happy except has a stamp deck 3 point hold, much rather have 4 point fabricated.
Remember that patent pending you said? Yeah we got those too!
😂😂😂😂😂
Lol he got me good
Hey nice preview but what cost they go fore ?
Gooder ride ? Is that even a word ? Ok forget I mentioned gooder lol . I just started a lawn care business and went out and bought a spartan but i think the Pro 900 would be the cats ### ! If you need a tester hit me up lol . You have made this mower sound like the next best thing to cream cheese and bagels .
Word on the street. Vibration on the deck. And it’s a once’s week cutter. How many acreage can this thing cut. It said 1 to 2 .....curious. Spring time I’m looking for a zero turn.
This mower is a beast.
Brian's Lawn Maintenance nice sale!
Great video Brian, I demoed the Cub Cadet ZT1 I didn't like it, but that mower looks and built like a tank that one looks comfy!
Dale Nienow you demoed a residential machine. These are on a whole different level
Most important item and it wasn't addressed. How difficult is it to work on and do maintenance? Leaving grease fittings off the spindles raises a red flag for me.
flick22601 super easy to work on . I do a weekly maintenance on mine . I’ve never had to go to the dealer.
This is great. I have 21 inche push mower that is cub cadet and I enjoy the mower. Also, I used the same mower for the 6 yards that I'm mowing. Just wondering if cub cadet make stand on mowers?
Still no Suspension ......No competition for Simplicity or Ferris Mowers 🤘🏻😜
I like green mowers normally but this things damn good. Sales guy is awesome too, seems to know his stuff.
Awesome looking mower I always wanted one with an air ride seat lol...............
Lmfao @ 4:01 "26inch Thyre(tire)"
Completely unrelated , but I love my 1983 cub cadet 580
