If there's anything I'm happy about in this DLC, it's us getting to actually see Tyr, and not Odin's bastardized version of him. Especially with him talking to Kratos as an equal, both being Gods of War. An incredible decision
Yeah, but it's not the same. Here we were able to interact with him and see some of his abilities and knowledge as the former God of War. We saw him at the end of last game's campaign, but it was an optional encounter that many people missed and where we weren't able to fully appreciate his character (other than finding him doing yoga)
@@xcor3103 Fair I suppose. I look at it as two sides of a coin. Peace and unity is as important to Tyr's character as being a world-trotting warrior. Personally I think encountering him around the realms was just as meaningful, in its own way.
@@MedSurg420 I meant that we get to see more of him than just those encounters around the realms in the postgame. Both are extremely important, but Tyr takes a much more active role in the story here, as opposed to being a missable character in the base game
Tyr's weird sword from a "far-off-land" appears to be a macuahuitl, an Aztec weapon that was essentially a club/sword with obsidian blades embedded along the edges. They were metal AF and deserve more widespread recognition.
I think it's gonna send Kratos around Europe like they tried to do with JoJo So depending on where the Aztec culture was most prevalent he MIGHT be going there But I think he's going to Ireland next if anyone picks the IP up again Where do YOU think he's gonna go
Ah, I guessed it was either aztec or mayan. I'd fucking love for them to go to some native american mythology. I feel like those don't get enough love, even though they're SO fucking cool!

I think the idea of free dlc being roguelikes is pretty genius. The genre relying on redoing stuff makes it easy to create a long narrative with minimal assets.
@@GeekyDolphin46short? Maybe if you stop playing on easy mode then it will take you longer. I played on Show Me Mastery and it took me a whole week to fully complete it. Playing for like 4-7 h a day. When all the enemies have more health and hit harder to the point where it’s a one shot once you reach the upper realms… it does take considerably longer as you have to grind more and more. And the story elements were fine. Don’t forget it was a FREE dlc; you didn’t need to download and play it. For a free additional side content update, it was a good length.
Odin made Tyr such a pushover when he was impersonating him. But this man's a monster. Complete mastery over weaponry from multiple pantheons. I can see now why he's the Norse God of War.
Seeing Tyr with the macuahuitl had me so hyped. If the games continue (maybe with the idea of Kratos having to go around as the new god of war preventing various pantheons’ end of the world events) I’d love to see him in the Aztec pantheon with that weapon and interacting with/seeing Quetzalcoatl, I think I’d lose my mind from the hype. Same with Egypt and him fighting Apophis
@@ChaosKing210Only requirement is said lands have gods of war so they can at least keep the title of the games consistent, whether or not Kratos is the main character or not.
Him vibing with Huitzilopochtli would be amazing, I bet he has a whole lotta trauma too, being literally born into a war between himself and all his brethren would definitely mess one up.
just for those who might not know, the notebook is written by Kratos for Atreus, therefore the way he refers to the reader like he is addressing them personally
One thing I hope everyone will notice is how Kratos walks out of Valhalla's gates. His axe on his shoulder. It is a call back to the shrine Faye drew over that Kratos found at the ending of the main story. He is revered and redeemed. He is the God of Hope.
I think that's what we call duality. Kratos is the god of war mainly, but that's such a broad concept, it can mean anything associated with war, both negative, and good. Just goes to show his role isn't just black and white, despite what Ares may have been
@ericlamb4501 I truly believe Kratos' story is meant as a sign that he is retiring as God of War. I believe Kratos' story will involve him retiring as God of War, and becoming exclusively a God of Peace/Hope.
I absolutely love this take on Valhalla, it's accurate to mythology in that it's an endless training ground for fallen warriors to master themselves (normally training for Ragnarök) But I love the idea that along with the physical training it focuses on mastery of the self and the final battlefield being the mind. It's just a beautiful way of incorporating therapy into God of War that's perfect for Kratos, it's almost a concentrated solution of the journey Kratos has been on since 2018.
I love Kratos’ development in Ragnarok. The fact he is interested and even giving advice and compliments to Mimir is so nice and such a turn around for what he was back in the old games and they did it so well too
Seán has mentioned previously that just because he doesn’t comment on every single little detail, that doesn’t mean he didn’t notice it. Just wanted to throw that out there.
I love that Tyr uses different weapons from other cultures. The first one was a macuahuitl from old Aztecs, and the second one was two Khopesh's from Egypt, and the last one, of course, is a Katana from Japan. It was super cool to me to see that
Aren't those the 3 lands we saw in the teasers, when people thought we'd be tracking Tyr down in the next 3 games? Nice callback to where Tyr travelled to
Well he did say he traveled a lot. I can imagine Tyr is actually a very well rounded god of war and being in general, just how Kratos now has a Norse axe, his old Greek blades, and the hybrid spear taking on the aspects of both cultures in how it looks and how it was made, as well as him learning through Valhalla that he needs to accept both people he is, the violent monster in his past he wants to leave behind and the father he's become
I love how Tyr selected his weapons based on different pantheons 1.The Greek Hoplite Spear and Shield 2.The Aztec Macahuitl 3.The Egyptian Khopesh 4.The Japanese O-dachi and it mirrors Kratos' weapons with symbolism 1.Draupnir and Faye's Shield (his present identity) 2.Blade of Olympus (his godhood) 3.The Chaos Blades (His past as God of War) 4. The Leviathan Axe ( his Future as God of Hope)
Ok, the first tidbit was just a nice set of fun facts, but comparing with the symbolism is a bit of a stretch. The Aztec big club is somehow similar to the blade of Olympus and symbolically representative of godhood? What are you on about?
@@SomeGuy-mt4hq I think the similarity with the Macuahuitl is because of the sheer size of the fuppin' thing, and it's the last weapon similarity to make between - The dual blades (BoC and khopeshes) - The ice-powered weapon (the Nodachi) - And the Spear and Shield (Spear and Shield) As for the Blade of Olympus, that one was used by Kratos in 2 (as a trick by Zeus) to absorb his godly powers as the God of War. It was wielded properly by Zeus, too, one of the biggest points of grievance for Kratos amongst all Greek gods. It's a pretty significant weapon for him due to the events in GOW 2 and 3. So i don't think the OP meant that the macuahuitl is directly representative of a similar journey for Týr-- the closest thing to sacrifice he's doing with it is running his blade along the teeth. Just that the macuahuitl is the most direct analogue for the Blade of Olympus within Kratos' arsenal.
I hope I'm not the only one who noticed that the way kratos is holding the axe after walking out of valhalla is for sure the mural that Angerboda painted. giant visions continuity is great.
@@lockekappa500 it’s done with Angrboda’s art style and pigments, Faye only used the golden paint and destroyed the original mural made of stone. Presumably Angrboda had that vision after kratos started going down the path of not wanting to kill thor.
@@zakstormcrow5912 Didn't Angrboda JUST find these though? Or has she been hiding them for so long. Seems odd that Angrboda would either A) Find these awhile ago and keep them from both Kratos and Atreus or B) JUST found them and had time to paint over his in a short period. So I dunno.
@@lockekappa500 I would argue that it’s a thing if she had the vision before Ragnarök but knew that if they saw it that it could change the outcome (because kratos always defies prophecy) so she kept it secret until he was already on the path to free the real Tyr and go to Valhalla since after Ragnarök that is fully unavoidable Edit: also she didn’t say she just found it she just said she had something to show them
@@zakstormcrow5912 Yeah, I actually forgot what she said, but regardless both options seem off considering the outcome. Like I said, if she hadn't told them, why would she keep Atreus' mothers panel away from him all this time? And how could Angrboda have found it in Midgard if she'd never left Ironwood until just now?
Helios’ roast about Kratos having ash on his skin after burning himself is pretty f’d up. He didn’t meant Kratos’ own burnt skin, he meant the ashes of his wife and daughter. Like damn, Helios in this dlc makes Heimdal seem like a nice guy
The entire series was Kratos learning to accept who his son was and who he was going to be. But we never saw Kratos accept who he was and what he is going to do. And this extra story here brought a tear to my eye. Our boy has finally grown into the god he was meant to be. :')
helios saying “no one wants to hear that from you” is dope because kratos doesn’t want to be a monster, much less a god’s monster. god this writing is so good
I took it as meta commentary on people who say "the new Kratos is boring/soft, he should be more like the old games." Helios, being the manifestation of Kratos' worst beliefs about himself, is reinforcing that idea that Kratos cannot change and people don't want to hear Kratos being apologetic, for example. They kinda do this at the end too with the "You are more than that" line being a bit of commentary on people who say "OG Kratos had no character depth"; they refute both viewpoints quite well, I think.
Can we talk about how cute it is that Kratos is mad at Mimir for saying he wouldn't be enough for Sigrun and rejecting her because of it? He's so supportive of the relationship his mad at the fact Mimir ruined it 😂😂
As for not being able to give her what she needs... to be perhaps needlessly crude about it, he's got lips and a tongue, and he's _notoriously_ good with them.
that little stumble he does at 2:29:27 as he sat down, that made me tear up, here we see a man, a man who lost everything, a man who lost himself, but even then, climbed up the mountain again, not any other mountain, but the same mountain that put him down to its feet, as he sat he might have thought "do i deserve this?" which just makes me feel so damn proud of how far he had come, this character is very well written. one of a kind.
And apparently God (the Abrahamaic one.) also exists in the GOW franchise, and in one of the games there was an Easter egg which showed some painting or drawing of the three wise men. That could mean Jesus is also in this, just imagine Kratos meeting Jesus lol
I like how Tyr said "It looks like you have better voices in your head." Nice little reference to him and Atreus promising to listen for each others voices when they're unsure. This game is so good. I'm sad they weren't allowed to make two games, it would've been so much nicer and given us more time with the characters. The game felt quite cramped story wise. Maybe Freyr would've had more impact too.
It would have benefitted from stretching it out, having a build up of Atreus potentially joining the Norse gods and having Kratos have to save him from a life of servitude I think would of been the better option. But most of the side characters fell flat for me other than Heimdall. That whole sequence was amazing.
Regardless of what they decide to do with the series, I NEED to see Forsetti, son of Heimdall, come back and be an absolute mega Kratos hater on the side of the bad guys. I think he'd be a real wild card of a villain, reminding of his mistakes in the Norse realm like how Apollo did here for the Greek realm.
The fact that one of the few times you get to see honest to god fear on kratos' face was when mimir appeared in the cage before the burning. It would have been a similar reaction had Atreus appeared there instead. They are family.
Honestly, the relationship they've built up between Kratos and Mimir over this DLC and both the games is amazing. Hearing Mimir reassure Kratos that he's better than his past is such a heartwarming thing, but Kratos saying "If anyone else disparaged you as you disparage yourself, I would wish to strike them with an axe" was one of my favorite moments out of the whole DLC.
Seeing Post-Boy Kratos next to Kill Everyone Kratos made me really see just how faded the red streaks on his skin have become. Hadn't noticed just how much less red they are now, and I like that symbolism.
Same saying goes for Kratos' ashed skin too, it looks more faded compared to Younger Kratos; So if the devs ever make another GOW game and he's with his natural skin color, I would cry nonstop 😭💙
I was thinking that in 4 "does he renew the cultural and very important markings on himself?" Clearly not, which is a little sad because it means our B O Y is fading away as well
Its not just to symbolise how far he has come but also how long it has taken him because it is a tattoo and tattoos take long to fade for regular people so for a deity it mustve taken very long
I love how Jack is always like, “Are we gonna go back to Greece? Are we gonna get more Greek stuff?” Then when he gets more Greek stuff (the appearance and armor) he doesn’t even use it.
He means going back to the crater filled with dead bodies that Kratos caused to implode because there's no Gods to keep it stable anymore (possibly full of Romans now because he left a bunch of God power there)
39:46 that weapon is a “MacuahuitI” it was used by mesoamerican societies like the Aztecs, Toltecs, and Mayans, it’s sides are fitted with sharpened obsidian rocks to help it cut. The weapon was also used by the Mayan god of war Buluc Chabtan, which explains why tyr is using it in the fight.
@@dawsonhughjohnmcqueen1801actually yea wait that just gave me an idea; what if Atreus is exploring new lands and ends up near the Aztecs and their “friends”, but the whole area is riddled with chaos/war/potential invasions via a different pantheon that views the Aztecs as inferior/undeserving. I think it’s beautiful that this story had the bravery to acknowledge the story of the older games, the older kratos, and their themes. And at the meta level telling the people who took the older games for granted “hey those games had depth too” which i have been feeling for months now so it’s gratifying to see it said here
This is not about forgiveness. Tyr himself says it’s about accepting the past and moving on to become better. Most of the things kratos did are unforgivable imo which is why he’s been hard on himself these two games, but now he has come to finally move on from those
It’s a shame you don’t know how to use the spear. It’s incredibly strong. Arguably the best and definitely my favorite. Not only the best ranged weapon, but powerful up close to. It has the best stagger so you’re constantly interrupting enemy attacks. Making sure you use the melee attacks that impale spears allows you to repeatedly attack, attack, detonate, repeat and your enemies will constantly be reeling backwards. Then the siphon gives you so much status versatility and allows you to resist the status you siphoned.
I hated the spear too. Then I discovered elemental siphon and a whole world opened up to me. I love that damn thing. Also the boon that gives you a random elemental damage when you throw a spear in this mode is so beyond broken. Its how I beat tyr for the final time on the higher difficulties.
The spear has some of the most broken builds in the DLC too 😭 range attack buff + triangle attack buff + random element siphon after throwing spears + detonator’s might = melting enemies even on higher difficulties
I love that during this quest, Mimir doesn't tell Kratos what he should be doing or even if what he is doing is wrong, but he just listens to him and tells him he is better than the mistakes of his past. I love seeing Kratos has actual friends.
I do find it hilarious that while Kratos and Mimir are going through this intense therapy loop of life and death, they're casually discussing Mimir's love life, with Kratos expressing disappointment with how his 'brother' fumbled the bag due to self-doubt.
Seán: "Its hard to lay yourself bare, to see yourself for who you really are instead of who you think you are.". Some brutal honesty and something people should do more often. Self reflection is the only way to grow out of your stuck self. Great video again about gaming and some advice. Thank you Seán.
The Spear in Valhalla is SOOOO underrated. Its abilities are insane. One ability gives you a random Elemental power to the next spear after you throw one, another gives you a storm of elemental around you when holding triangle while having siphoned some power. You can MOW DOWN enemies with spear builds in this. Then theres getting rid of your runic cooldown by mashing triangle with the blades. God this mode is awesome
1:31:18 I was so excited to see Tyr pull out Egyptian swords (a khopesh) once he started using weapons from other lands. From another comment I saw, I think the first big sword he had was Aztec
Aztec, Egyptian, and Japanese weapons from him. Could be hints for the next game, the devs like to do stuff like that. And it would be SICK to see Kratos with the Aztec gods.
8:56 It’d actually be crazy if Mimir’s ability of being “all knowing” really branches out into breaking the fourth wall. Over all adding to him sorta being the comedic relief at times
"Mimir. I...I often feel as though I am being guided by an unknown spirit, or perhaps a being from another...Realm." "Ach, yes, well - remind me later to elaborate on the intricacies of irony, brother."
@@pancakes8670 exactly! I just hope this doesn’t turn into a “Santa Monica fixed the past games” when there is so much deep character progression if you don’t just turn your brain off during the cutscenes.
I think a lot of people write it off cause the old games didn't focus enough on that complexity. A LOT of time was spent on viewing the violence and depravity he committed during his path through Greece using a glorifying lens, or glorifying gaze. And honestly, Kratos was apparently powerful enough that nothing could have stopped him long enough to make him question himself - at least not until it very abruptly started happening halfway through game three of what was, at the time, three games - when Pandora was introduced (though this only talking mainline games not 3DS games, etc). In 1 and 2 especially, pain that happened to Kratos was seemingly framed as a way to enable more violence and depravity. Those old games made it very easy for anyone who didn't care to find Kratos' complexities to ignore them, and for anyone who didn't like the games to miss them. Anyone who liked and cared about the game would see them. I guess I'm saying I don't necessarily blame people for missing it and for mistaking Kratos for an unfeeling ragemonkey.
@@fireking0531which is kinda weird, I get missing the rage and all but not liking the emotion is kinda funny since I believe these games are way more popular than the old ones were
@@cinemasurge1851the old games had Kratos show a lot of emotion too but the gameplay and main plot points showed more of the rage that was standing out more. The old ones are still just as good as the new ones but the new ones cater towards a newer generation of gamers and a more familiar approach to games. Old games were a lot more button mash than what we get now
just the fact that tyr sometimes has a different weapon form his travels to other pantheons is just so aweome. Makes one wonder if they are hinting to other pantheons for the future games.
I love how the ending of this depicts Kratos’s future as being unburdened by the chains of his past; both metaphorically and literally seeing as how his arms are free when he re-takes the throne
Kratos punching his way towards better mental health is the most God of War concept ever. I'm excited to see where the developers take this franchise next. There's a myth about the Greek gods running away to Egypt to escape Typhon, so I wonder if that's something they'll incorporate in the next game.
3:26 "Well, if i had to guess-probably to make you feel like the piece of shit you are!" Had me laughing my ass off holy shit! Love the Helios Actor! Really brings out the character!
i had hoped they'd have kratos face his younger self and i was pretty stoked he showed up, but part of me really wished they'd have a dialogue back and forth and bring back the old VA for young kratos haha that would have made me really excited.
I actually felt it was more important that he stay silent, as when our Kratos is talking, it’s how he speaks to himself, and in doing so, he begins to speak kinder to himself. He’s so used to his inner voice being so negative. This therapy session in the way he understands has allowed him to examine himself towards confronting that negative self-talk and turn it towards seeing and speaking to himself how others have come to see him without the constant browbeating of his past. Or at least the beginnings of that. Yes, we make mistakes, but if all your doing is holding your own head under those waters, you never allow yourself to breathe, then if held down too long you loose sight and feeling of the good you’ve done. Self forgiveness is not excusing your actions. It is allowing yourself to truly learn from them to BE better with pure intentions. For the record, it’s REALLY HARD to get through to even start, but once you begin to breathe, you can begin to walk out and away from those murky depths onto solid ground. Kratos is finally just now doing that, and Mimir will be there to nudge him along with intelligence tempered with compassion. A good friendship will do that for anyone. Kratos has good counsel, whereas he pushed it away before if it was ever offered. High hopes for him.

But I love the idea that along with the physical training it focuses on mastery of the self and the final battlefield being the mind. It's just a beautiful way of incorporating therapy into God of War that's perfect for Kratos, it's almost a concentrated solution of the journey Kratos has been on since 2018.

Having an Aztec Macuahuitl was a badass twist that I didn’t see Tyr doing. The blood orbs make sense with the weapon.

Aren't those the 3 lands we saw in the teasers, when people thought we'd be tracking Tyr down in the next 3 games? Nice callback to where Tyr travelled to

The Hollister was a nearly exclusively spartan
Ok, the first tidbit was just a nice set of fun facts, but comparing with the symbolism is a bit of a stretch. The Aztec big club is somehow similar to the blade of Olympus and symbolically representative of godhood? What are you on about?
The spear and shield are Norse not Greek.
@@SomeGuy-mt4hq I think the similarity with the Macuahuitl is because of the sheer size of the fuppin' thing, and it's the last weapon similarity to make between
- The dual blades (BoC and khopeshes)
- The ice-powered weapon (the Nodachi)
- And the Spear and Shield (Spear and Shield)
As for the Blade of Olympus, that one was used by Kratos in 2 (as a trick by Zeus) to absorb his godly powers as the God of War.

@@lockekappa500 I would argue that it’s a thing if she had the vision before Ragnarök but knew that if they saw it that it could change the outcome (because kratos always defies prophecy) so she kept it secret until he was already on the path to free the real Tyr and go to Valhalla since after Ragnarök that is fully unavoidable

Maybe Freyr would've had more impact too.
It would have benefitted from stretching it out, having a build up of Atreus potentially joining the Norse gods and having Kratos have to save him from a life of servitude I think would of been the better option.
Well, it's more like he forgot how to use it. It has been months after all

@@machiavelli33 that’s fair
Kratos while fighting Týr : ... Wait a second. This isn't fighting ! This is therapy !
Would be amazing if they brought the OG voice actor for THAT scene, having them talk to each other would be nutworthy
He said he didn't like the more emotional direction they took the series in, so I cant imagine he'd wanna join in for straight up therapy lol
@@fireking0531no, that was the creator. The previous voice actor was fired. Pretty rough story
Old games were a lot more button mash than what we get now
Seeing how much Kratos cares for mimir now. We've come a long way from him just being called "head"
Now he just saves that for the mental projection of Helios
just the fact that tyr sometimes has a different weapon form his travels to other pantheons is just so aweome. Makes one wonder if they are hinting to other pantheons for the future games.
16:44 i lost it when Seán just started telling everyone that spoke to shut up 😂
It's a skill, you could say.
I love how the ending of this depicts Kratos’s future as being unburdened by the chains of his past; both metaphorically and literally seeing as how his arms are free when he re-takes the throne

Not me tearing up at Kratos’ monologue at the end 😂 Christopher Judge is incredible
Kratos punching his way towards better mental health is the most God of War concept ever.
I'm excited to see where the developers take this franchise next. There's a myth about the Greek gods running away to Egypt to escape Typhon, so I wonder if that's something they'll incorporate in the next game.
I really like the dynamic of Mimir and Sigrun’s relationship. It’s pretty much no different than the “Would you still love me if I was a worm” bit. 😂

i had hoped they'd have kratos face his younger self and i was pretty stoked he showed up, but part of me really wished they'd have a dialogue back and forth and bring back the old VA for young kratos haha that would have made me really excited.
@@dandelion_frittersbeautiful
It's better that young Kratos doesn't speak.
Also I don’t know if you noticed but if you go to customize your armor you can press R3 for a really cool surprise after you mastered your therapy
It’d be entertaining to see Kratos have a crisis as the Roman pantheon appears and is like “Holy shit they’re all back”
yeah they're literally the same so it would just be repetitive
@@AUG_Glowdepends on the mythos you read. Their natures change from roman and greece as well as their domains. Jupiter/zeus is believed to be more authoritarian and in control compared to zeus whom abuses power
Athena/minerva was tamed and docile being removed from the seat as a goddess of war and looked at with a female reverence being arts and crafts. She was replaced by bellona a pure goddess of war in the romans eyes. Hades/Pluto whilst being the god of the underwold also is the god of gems and riches. Etc etc the only one that doesn’t really change is apollo who somehow keeps his name the same. Ares/mars being the biggest change as Mars isnt some guy who loves endless carnage but he is the god strategy and war. Known to ensure the safety and revered very importantly in the roman legions. Hera/juno also is more than just the queen of olympus but another strategic planner and guide with omens.

I know this would've been too much to ask for but imagine they bought in Athena, the assended one and have her be an actual threat cus she's technically still around.
Is she? I thought so too but people people believe she was just a figment of his imagination in 2018. But in GOW she was active as a higher being right?

Since you've beaten Valhalla, you should know that you've also unlocked the classic Kratos skin. When your choosing your appearance, you can hit the right stick to switch to classic Kratos. It only works in Valhalla and NG+ so enjoy!
I haven't got a chance to play the DLC yet when you say New game Plus, does that mean we can play the base game as young Kratos or is it just New game Plus for the DLC??
@KoopaKaos just new game plus and valhalla, and you have to complete the dlc storyline first
I know that Sean probably actually noticed the musical motiffs of different cultures' weapons that Tyr used but I'd love to hear him comment on it.
Kratos is one of the best, most complex, and compelling characters in video games thanks to Santa Monica’s writing team. This is incredible.
2:22:45 love the compliments from Týr as he is beating the crap of of you. 😂
"Great beard, by the way" that send me rolling, dear lord
Jack responding with "don't look at me with your beautiful bifrost eyes" also had me rolling
I love that we finally get to see Tyr doing stuff to test Kratos, also how Tyr uses different weapons from different lands
Also, it's like tyr was brushung off rust from years of captivity. Kinad cool really.
I believe the swords Tyr uses around 1:31:56 are called Khopeshes, they're sickle-shaped egyptian swords.
That makes me think, the first weapon he used was a spear and shield like the natural spartan weapons from Greece and then there was the big club sword thing, maybe it's norse? And then the 3rd weapon he used Egyptian weapons, originally the created wanted God of war 1 to be in the Greek mythos, then 2 in norse, then 3 in Egypt, so maybe even more hints to him going to the Egyptian mythos next?
@@ChaowarDraelock I believe the toothed club is Aztec maybe a macuahuitl
@@ChaowarDraelock I'm not quite sure about the origins of the giant sword weapon he used in the fights, it kind of reminds me of an Aztec type weapon. As for the club, it's probably a giant kanabo, which is a Japanese club
First he tells you that you aren't fast enough, then he tells you that you hurry too much. I'm not sure it was the head Kratos ripped off Helios.
I think it was the head.....

@@bautistabarabino5821 He's calling him stupid by saying it wasn't his head, because heads have brains
The weapons that Tyr uses besides the Spartan spear/shield combo and katana are a Macuahuitl and a pair of Khopesh. The Macuahuitl is an Aztec weapon, a wooden club with many obsidian blades embedded in the sides. They're said to be so sharp and heavy that they could decapitate a horse in one swing. Meanwhile the Khopesh are Egyptian swords and their hooked blades are used to either yank an opponent's arm or pull their shield away.

I appreciate how much of the real tyr we get to see here because of how little we saw him in the main story
This was way too good to be a free DLC. Santa Monica studios are really a rare gem of a studio who respects their fanbase SO MUCH.
