For a pre-released software, its already shows a big difference especially on the Ultrawide and zoom lens. This it the year that Pixel will shine. Im so excited to get mine!!!
What I noticed in the video portion the Pixel 8 Pro maintains the same color profile throughout all the lens unlike the 7 Pro where the color changes when you switch between them. Awesome!
Good improvements Pixel 8 Pro, saturation, whitebalance, contrast and dynamic range. Also good to see noise reduction, Pixel always has an issue with noise and loss of contrast in high dynamic range situations.
really good improvement in almost all aspects! The biggest improvement is definitely the telephoto and ultrawide in both photo and video with improved contrast, resolution, reduced noise and overall quality. One other thing I see is that there is no more of that jitter I see on my pixel 6 pro on the 8 pro, 7 pro still has it but less as well. Consistency is also dramatically improved! color temperature between lens, resolution!
Great comparison, can't believe the difference is night and day! It feels like 7 Pro lenses are dirty in most shots, whereas 8 Pro is amazing. I think the cameras will be a great upgrade. Just need to wait a few days for my pre-order!
It’s a shame that Google doesn’t want or won’t make such video features for Pixel 7. There’s a huge difference in video because Pixel 8 doesn’t try to pull out all the details from the shadows, like Pixel 7, 6, 5 and so on do. These are the new algorithms that we have all been waiting for. Video at pixel 8 looks darker, less noisy, because it doesn’t pull everything out of the shadows, and that’s right, it looks more realistic. I hope I get some kind of upgrade for the Pixel 7 Pro because it's starting to look like marketing from Apple xD
Less noise in the 8 pro video compared to the 7 pro which is a good sign. Hopefully the firmware update on Oct 11th improves it some more. Pixel 8 looks promising

There are examples of very different colour profiles - for example when you showed the ultrawide video the building on your right was pink in the 7 pro and orange in the 8 pro. Overall when comparing the difference in colour profile which would you say is more accurate?
Great job; very detailed and to the point. Looks like a big jump in video quality. I can't tell from those samples (because the compressed video isn't great) but if Google managed to reduce the noise, the Pixel 8 finally has a chance at challenging the iPhone in video. What do you think?
Video quality is considerably better now on pixel 8 pro but just wanted to see if cinematic video got any good as it was horrible when they implemented it last year. Anyways great video👍🏻
From what I see the 8 pro fixed most issues I had with 7pro. Images look better if slightly warmer especially for faces even if it's not 100% accurate. Also the 7 pro had a really weak 5x performance. Looks like both of those issues are addressed. So I'm leaning towards upgrade. Thanks for doing this comparison before anyone else. Great job 👍
Finally, the color temperature of the 8 pro is warmer than the previous generation, the pixel color science always cold and lacks a bit contrast in my opinion 😊

I like that between the 2 phones it's not night and day. Definitely see the improvements between the cameras though. I thought it was interesting when you zoomed in on the 8 Pro that the Audio Zoom made it sound different ... because it was picking up what you were looking at and not your voice. I think this would be awesome to try when going to a concert. Great comparison video.

I hate that while recording video with main camera, and then punching 5x, there is a hard snap when it switches cameras and does not smoothly go to 5x. I had hoped the 8 Pro would fix that vs 7 Pro.
That's way too much of a difference in contrast, which doesn't match other side by side tests I saw. Did you check your 7 Pro camera for smudges right before shooting? Smudges/oil result in the same sort of contrast loss.
Thanks for uploading the videos. A humble suggestion: Please maximize the photos on your comparison videos, the cutout backgrough with thick borders takes up most of the space and makes it hard to observe any differences, especially in this case where the recorded shots/videos are very similar.

I don't understand why still the footage from android is skipping frames? Iphones have such smooth video with no lost frames. Maybe its stabilizer? Looks like video is jumping one time in 1-2 second
Sadly, Both phones do not transition smoothly while switching lenses in video. There’s a brief jitter. Pixels are all about showcasing Google’s amazing software capabilities. But they still haven’t fixed this.

8 Pro is still on pre release software, Camera update should come out on 10 or 11th as embaro lifts, as now Camera app is even older than on P7 Pro. Can't wait too see how it differs with release update and especially with Full Res mode.
Wow, am REALLY liking the 8 Pro pics - So much looking forward to doing my own comparisons! In this day & age, my phone is my camera for at least 90% of my pictures; having one that is able to handle a wide variety of scenes and conditions is very important.
Brother never stop making phone comparisons. You see other youtubers when they make videos they don’t compare it RAW. What i mean to say is they only shoot photos of flowers, trees, playgrounds etc. dumb mfs. They had to shoot front face camera at low light, rear camera straight on face at the worst lighting and sun reflecting scenarios which you did is a very real and raw thing‼️ Keep it up brother👍🏼 you are unique. Unlike those 90% of photo/video comparisons

Thanks for taking the time to make this video. What I've noticed overall, is there appears to be a slight haze on the 7 pro compared to 8 pro and that the 8 pro tends to be cleaner. It made me first think, did you wipe clean the lens screen on the 7 pro?

The low light front facing camera fix is long awaited! The 8 Pro on that last video really shows how bad the front facing cameras have been in low light on the pixels since the pixel 6. I remember going from my 4XL to the 6 Pro and being extremely disappointed in the noticeable downgrade in the front facing camera quality in low light. The 6 and 7 series has a really bad case of noise and blurry video in low light for the front facing as you can see on the 7 in that last clip.
The 8 G3. More efficient less heat , on board Ai models , 120 hz screen . Longer support , etc , etc ... That's just me I don't chase marginal picture upgrades .
It's Audio Zoom so it tries to focus on the sound where the phone zooms in. Hence the disparity. Technically it works better. Hence you can hear kids sounds in the video who are far away but zoomed in on

Only the lens switching to 5x and night bright light control is not improved. Even 7Pro is lot smoother in that context. Hope google will focus on that because we all consider google for the camera.
The pixel 7 pro audio quality is 100 times better than pixel 8 pro. The cool colors look better natural and realistic on the 7 pro than the 8 pro. The ultrawide photos look weird on the edges it gets rounded and tilted on the 8 pro whereas on the 7 pro it looks much better without the fish eye round view.
@@TechThatOut got it. seems like there is no consistency with camera quality in any smart phones these days as the AI is not predictable in which scenario it will work the best when will it work the best, sometimes after a year the samsung camera seems better than iphone after 2 years the quality gets bad for a reason it keeps on fluctuating
So what i think .. camera quality on 1x is like what we get on pixel even if it's 6a or 7a or 8pro.. but ultrawide is significantly wider and better in terms of hdr and sharpness.. 2nd thing potrait still sucks 😞.. maybe on 8 pro if they push updates to fix edge detection issue that will be nice... On videos i see pixel 8pro having more wider field of view as you said brother. + better hdr way better than 7pro .. In night back camera perform well ultrawide again Better 8pro with less grains.. And the most major upgrade to front facing video that looks sharp compared to 7pro and yeah the this year grains aren't there in videos for low light good job there . + maybe 8 pro have a little bit better stability. I don't if that's because you hand held them both or whatever
I still prefer the color science of pixel 7 pro. The color seems boosted and way more warmer according to me. In order to get the pixel authentic looks they need to tone down the color. The details in zoom shot and videos is much cleaner and the picture come out sharper.
Great video but it's annoying that you show us the video and the pictures only in part of the screen why you wouldn't make it in the whole video in the middle!
I wish Google did not depreciate their phone so much in their trade in value. My Pixel 7 is only worth $325 after only one year. I bought this phone thinking all the cool Bard AI assistant would come to my phone. I would be okay for lower performance if AI work but instead it seem Google makes AI features Pro only which is dumb from consumer stand point but makes sense for a business. I hope if they update Google assistant to be as good as Bing chat GPT-4 where I can just talk to it like an expert.
I can confirm the pro mode was missing from the camera app which was a little disappointing that it didn't ship out of the box that way even though the phone isn't actually available until the 12th. Also not too thrilled about the selfie camera performance compared to my 22 Ultra so I'm less optimistic about going back to Google now but instead I'll probably wait for the S24 Ultra.
The telephoto and ultrawide got crazy good upgrades this year. The 5x doesn't look washed out and over sharpened anymore.

I agree. The telephoto on the 7 Pro shifts the color to the warm side than the primary

Both are just off by a little. The 7 Pro is slightly cooler & 8 Pro is slightly warmer

I did. Actually the faded out telephoto image, I checked the lens for smudges & clicked 2-3 times to make sure it was accurate.
Yes. My P7P has the same haze, esp. with telephoto.

I'm curious why the microphone was so much quieter and muffled on the 8 pro versus the seven pro
It's Audio Zoom so it tries to focus on the sound where the phone zooms in. Hence the disparity. Technically it works better. Hence you can hear kids sounds in the video who are far away but zoomed in on
Test out charging speed as well, has the extra 7W made any tangible improvement?

Amigo el pixel 8 pro suena 50% con buenos matices y buen bajo es sin distorsión y a comparación con Apple pm solo tiene 15 % bajo gana con eso 10 mas fuerte el audio esta a la altura de la gama alta.

Why we need to zoom 1.5x to watch your comparison video , its just sensless , unnecessary cropping of images! You dont need to show the phones just write down the device name

Only the lens switching to 5x and night bright light control is not improved. Even 7Pro is lot smoother in that context. Hope google will focus on that because we all consider google for the camera.
Hoping things get fixed with final firmware
The pixel 7 pro audio quality is 100 times better than pixel 8 pro. The cool colors look better natural and realistic on the 7 pro than the 8 pro. The ultrawide photos look weird on the edges it gets rounded and tilted on the 8 pro whereas on the 7 pro it looks much better without the fish eye round view.
So you will notice that only in Telephoto lens. Because the phones use Audio Zoom which tries to pickup audio from where the lens is focusing on.
@@TechThatOut got it. seems like there is no consistency with camera quality in any smart phones these days as the AI is not predictable in which scenario it will work the best when will it work the best, sometimes after a year the samsung camera seems better than iphone after 2 years the quality gets bad for a reason it keeps on fluctuating

So what i think .. camera quality on 1x is like what we get on pixel even if it's 6a or 7a or 8pro.. but ultrawide is significantly wider and better in terms of hdr and sharpness.. 2nd thing potrait still sucks 😞.. maybe on 8 pro if they push updates to fix edge detection issue that will be nice...
On videos i see pixel 8pro having more wider field of view as you said brother. + better hdr way better than 7pro ..
In night back camera perform well ultrawide again Better 8pro with less grains..
And the most major upgrade to front facing video that looks sharp compared to 7pro and yeah the this year grains aren't there in videos for low light good job there .
+ maybe 8 pro have a little bit better stability. I don't if that's because you hand held them both or whatever
Also better telephoto shots, they are cleaner & do not have the colour shift like the Pixel 7 Pro

I still prefer the color science of pixel 7 pro. The color seems boosted and way more warmer according to me. In order to get the pixel authentic looks they need to tone down the color. The details in zoom shot and videos is much cleaner and the picture come out sharper.
P8 pro looks way better, P7 pro in comparison looks flat and muted

I wish Google did not depreciate their phone so much in their trade in value. My Pixel 7 is only worth $325 after only one year. I bought this phone thinking all the cool Bard AI assistant would come to my phone. I would be okay for lower performance if AI work but instead it seem Google makes AI features Pro only which is dumb from consumer stand point but makes sense for a business. I hope if they update Google assistant to be as good as Bing chat GPT-4 where I can just talk to it like an expert.

I can confirm the pro mode was missing from the camera app which was a little disappointing that it didn't ship out of the box that way even though the phone isn't actually available until the 12th. Also not too thrilled about the selfie camera performance compared to my 22 Ultra so I'm less optimistic about going back to Google now but instead I'll probably wait for the S24 Ultra.
