You are definitely the best smartphones camera reviewer right now. I like how extended comparisons are and unsponsored, focused on details. Keep it up man. Only night videos could be improved, because this place doesn't have enough objects to really notice a difference.
Im S22 user, bought pixel 7a week ago for my wife. Main camera slightly better than on S22 at good light, noice reduction more aggressive on pixel, but wide and zoom literally better on the Samsung. Selfie most better on Samsung, but pixel have wider angle for selfie. Pixel make 2x zoom photos way better than Samsung, but at least nothing special. Pixel is great, battery lifetime x2 time than my Samsung, fast and pleasant.
Wow, the 7a held up well against the 8/8 Pro. I'm more than happy with my 7a, I was considering goibg for an 8 Pro, but for the price jump I'd be buting it just for a bigger screen , 120htz refresh (i still can't see any difference against 90htz) and slight camera picture quality. For now I'm sticking withe 7a. Great 👍 vid.
Another super solid camera comparison and I have to say all three of these phones based on what I saw in my opinion are pretty much on par with each other there are noticeable differences that do make the 8 series slightly better than the 7 series. But in all honesty if you're looking for a new pixel device and you didn't have the money to pick up the newer 8 or 8 pro then the 7, 7 pro or, 7A should serve you well. Thank you bro I think this particular comparison really help me make a definitive decision. I was really considering saving up for the 8 pro but I think now I'm just going to get the 7A and wait for the 8A to come out next year. But I am still going to save up for either an iPhone 15 or a 15 plus but I think I will take my time on that and just slowly finish covering the rest of the iPhone lineup so I think we're going to go with the minis next. But thank you bro this really helped as someone that puts photo video camera performance overall performance and battery life in really high regard when picking their smartphones and as a fellow UA-cam content creator I really do enjoy this style of coverage and I really can't appreciate the hard work that you put into this style of the coverage so thank you again for the great job keep up the great work have a good one and I'll catch you on the next one.
I have pixel 6 pro and recently I've been noticed should I upgrade or no. Your video shows great the difference in generations and helped me to understand that the difference is not that big😮 Your comparsion reviews are the best, thank you!
I have the 6 pro as well, but I'm wondering if the Pixel 8 will be a good enough upgrade. As a runner, the Pixel 6 Pro can be quite unwieldy even with a harness. But I also am a videographer so the camera on the Pixel 8 Pro may be a good option. But the Pixel 8 Pro would be my secondary so it's not immensely important to have the best. But that SCREEN lol
Man, you are grindin'!!! Much respect! I just ran out of juice on my last comparison, closed Davinci and there you are with another one on UA-cam. People don't understand the grind!!! Keep 'em coming! If you're ever in the states and near to me and need an assistant, let me know. God knows, I need one. Maybe you should start creating videos answering questions like "Should I upgrade my cellphone, get an action cam or budget aps-c camera? That's what I'm working on now and in 2021 it was easy. Not so easy in 2023 with these flagships though!
Hey man thanks for watching and supporting. Indeed it takes a lot work and massive stress to edit but getting done for you the viewers. It really depends which part of states you're in but I am often enough ✌🏿
Surprised how well the 7a holds up. I honestly can't say its worth 200 dollars more on the Pixel 8 for the cameras. Pixel 8 pro is in a different class and looks considerably better but not enough to justify price difference either unless someone needs the best of the best. Also seems like a lot of the difference between the 8 and 8 pro to the 7a is in the warmer colors and boosted dynamic range in the shadows. In a lot of cases I actually preferred the look of the 7a for daytime photos. Great comparison, thanks!
👊 shame that the pixel 8 series phones got more expensive. Which means pixel 7a is better value fkr money phone flr taking pictures. Of course both pixel 8 have more options with the 4k 60fps
Only issue is how much for expensive the Pixel 8 Pro especially here in UK. The price increase on the Pixel 8 makes perfect sense and I am all for it. Pixel 7a is great as well
This is the BEST comparison of the camera on these three phones - exactly what I needed in helping me decide. I watched several reviews from other UA-camrs and this, by far, is the most informative. Thank you! 👊
Hey, this comparison is amazing! Been looking for something like this, I just wanna know, whats the minimum focusing distance of the telephoto lens of the Pixel 8 Pro ?
I researched, I overthought, researched more, and overthought more. You're video finally got me where I needed to be. I was looking for a great price/quality camera phone for recording video content. These three were my final options. Based on this video I can confidently buy the 7a, knowing it will get me similar results to the 8 or 8 pro. The 8a also not a better option for me because of the same reasons (camera similar 7a + 100 euros more expensive in my country). So thank you sir for your amazing work!
One of the best and most thorough comparisons. Based on your video and others I watched. The Pixel8's night stabilization is just broken. Those stutters just make it unusuable.
Wow, what a great test! You've really put a lot of effort into it. Excellent work! Edit: Unfortunately, it seems that you missed doing a close up selfie quality test. That's what I'm looking for
👊. Great video. I currently own s 7a and the 8. Your compassion have me alot to think about and helped me decide which pixel in returning and which in keeping.
While I did enjoy the video, I wish you would've taken more photos of landscapes. I take many vacations and love to take photos of my partner, so I'm seeking a phone that fits the bill.
kind of interesting that this is all limited by software. there is nothing stopping all three of these being the same functional quality except artificial limitations of not deploying the better software.
Amazing video , man. Please include some indoor UA-cam studio lighting samples in the upcoming camera reviews so we aspiring creators can know which phone to buy to shoot on studio lighting.
Were you speaking English from 0:53 to 1:06? HAHA JK. Maybe slow it down 1/2 a beat, here & there. That degree of techno babble, at that rate of speed, makes you hard to understand, with that accent (said the guy from Texas)! HAHAHA JK Thanks for the Help!
Thanks for this video man, you definitely put a lot of effort into it. You have a new subscriber, I hope your channel grows fast because you deserve it.
That P8P zoom almost made me reconsider selling a kidney to afford it... Seriously so impressive. Great comparison thanks so much! Coming from a P5 it's a hard debate as I'm not exactly loving this P8 and will likely return it. Thinking of picking up the 7a while it's on sale right now for $375usd. Then just hold onto that until the 10.
I have a pixel 8 pro, but my video on videocalls is so blurry. While the other person is very clear. Is it normal? The photos though are very very good. But the videocall is very blurry.
@@stevep4236 I got the 7a. After switching from my one plus 8t. The phones amazing and smooth. Pixel Ui feels way more snappier than oxygen os version 14 and 14. Battery life is good but standby battery needs a little bit of work. Charging is slow. 90hz vs 120hz I thought would be noticable but with the pixel Ui I just don't notice it in my everyday usage. Speakers are ok. They really need to be turned up when using Google maps. The camera is amazing.
Good video; well done! I'm surprised the digital zoom on the Pixel 8 is that much better than the 7a since the 7a actually has a higher MP main shooter than the 8 (64 vs 50). It's really annoying how Google is only putting a telephoto lens on the LARGE phone. Samsung and Apple both have options for those who want a smaller phone with a telephoto lens. I think I speak for many users when I say that I'd rather have a Zoom/Telephoto lens instead of an Ultrawide if I had to choose.
@@LoverOfTech for the camera quality I have noticed that the ultrawide on the 8 pro is much superior to the one on the regular 8. Me too! Glad I've been persuaded I don't need to upgrade!

In my opinion the pixel 7a Is the same and performs the same in photos and videos as the other two.
Great vid! Glad I picked up the 7a! It held its own!

Need Pixel 7 vs Pixel 8a camera comparison. Comparing Pixel 7a with Pixel 8pro doesn't make sense... :(
Looks like the 8 pro has the colors of tbe 7a, but the dynamoc range of the 8. Which is annoying for 8 owners.
Crop in photo next time we can see difference
