I used to think that I had a black thumb when it came to plant nurturing, I am now thinking it may only be dark grey. I have 3 hibiscus plants, 2 were here when I bought my house and a year later I planted one from a store. All are now nearly 6 feet tall or taller, but this year the flowers have been very few. I now realize that I need to prune the plants and even better: I can now make use of the " excess growth " to make more plants. I look forward to trying your tips, thank you sir.
@@estelaburciaga177 No need to wash the roots. But if they have grown over each other in a clump or tangle, you should *gently* separate them so each root is untangled and able to take up soil nutrients and water unimpeded.
I brought my Hibiscus Into the house for the winter today. Thanks to this video I am going to try and propagate some of the cuttings since I had to trim it some anyways.
Sure shot quickest way for cuttings...always works Take the cuttings, remove all leaves except one or two...keep them in water..an old mug or bottle will do..change water every two days..in 10 days there will be visible roots in the immersed portion and new leaves in the top...you plant after 10 to 14 days..every cutting will become alive..flowering also happens very quickly
It might be lazy but it worked wonderfully... the flowers are beautiful and that’s my kind of way - not lazy but time saving - many thanks for your great advice.😍🌺

You are a master at your craft! I can do it exactly like you do step by step. And mine don't root. Nothing! I will have blooms one day the next day the leaves start turning yellow here and there then they are everywhere! I don't know how you can do it so beautifully!! Plz don't give people cuttings. This process is not as simple as it seems. Root the plants and pot them before gifting them. Otherwise they will just have a cutting that will die.
Much love from Hawaii ♥️. Thank you my friend . Your videos have helped me greatly . Peace and Good health to you and your family . ( is their any home remedies you are aware of ? In America we buy medicine that is expensive and has side effects . Not always helpful. I know you only do plants but maybe plants as medicine for a video . Either way thank you again )
@Paramita Ghosh, Congratulation! When it would flower - Well, very tough to say the exact time as I am not aware what kind of Hibiscus plant it is and there are many other factors. But still, if all goes well, you should see within 60 days and in winter it would take much more time, good luck :-)
Hi, buddy, thanks for sharing your experience. You once mentioned that the best season to grow from cutting is spring or rainy season. What do you mean rainy season? and why? Your local specific season? I live in Los Angels, our rainy season (wet season) is the winter, here only rain in the winter, does it mean it is a good season for hibiscus growth? So I think it might mean your local season not generic. Am I right? Maybe I can try next spring time? I once tried to grow HIbiscus using cuttings in the water, but kind it did not work even though some people showed that it works. BTW, I like hibiscus flowers, it has so many species, and kind of blooming all year round. I have some videos about hibiscus on my UA-cam channel. Thanks.
Tropical countries have 2 seasons: rainy season and dry season. Some tropical countries have a season change 4 times a year, while some others have a season change 2 times a year, depending on geography. So your translation of winter/spring/summer/autumn would be dry/wet/dry/wet with each season being roughly 3 months long or just dry/wet with each season being 6 months long. And in this case, the op is referring to your spring.
Great video! Thanks for showing that it is not always successful however you got an absolutely gorgeous hibiscus off of the one cutting.
