I've bought cuttings from different woody type trees and shrubs, I had trouble getting them to live - now, after watching your video, I see a couple of things that might help.... I think some of the cuttings I received did not have an actual node, which, I know now, is really important - they were just stem pieces. Also, gently scraping the sides to expose more rooting area should help a lot. Great video!
I saw this video previously and thought I downloaded it but couldn't find it. So happy I was able to find it again! I searched through dozens of other videos but I wanted to follow yours. Can't wait to see the results!
I live in Florida. My husband just brought me a hibiscus flower with a long stem. I found your videos - it is still warm here and I have an Angel's Trumpet ready to bloom. So I will wait for the hibiscus flower to wilt and then I am going to try to root it. Thank you so much!
Works for bougainvillea too I did it by accident just put huge cutting hardwood removed thorns an leaves just change water if it looks nasty change it an roots pop out try it cannot hurt happy gardening I don’t worry when I plant or start something an it grow s well. Good luck!
Very good, that was a great tip about mixing compost and rooting powder in the water, I shall try it with other plants too. Very well explained, thank you.
Brilliant instructions! Thankyou very much for sharing this. It is springtime in Australia now and I am keen to strike 3 different varieties of hibiscus. I will be back with an update.
i enjoy your videos sir. I am a newbie to gardening and currently learning to grow plants frm cuttings esp water as the media for rooting. So your videos and tips are of great help to me
Just discovered your channel today, and I absolutely love your videos! You have the perfect voice and pace for narrating and you’re very detailed on your information about the plants. Thanks for the content ❤
Wow! I will most certainly follow this method. So pleased to find this excellent channel and of course subscribed straight away. Straight to the point and a cut above the rest. Thank you for sharing.
Sir, first of all thank you very much for sharing this video. 👌, but I have 2 questions please. Number 1, I am currently using this method and in some cuttings I can see some tiny white dots forming on the cutting, are they the beginning of the roots? And those cuttings where without leaves. And I tried also cuttings leaving some leaves on, but they didn't really start to root, for this reason I took them off, do you know why leaving some leaves on cutting is not helpful for the roots to form? Thank you for reading and have a nice day!
thank you for such beautiful video. I'm just newbie so I have no idea about the tools are needed. please make one video for the newbies. thank you namsate 😇
Fantastic. I have followed the similar method. instead of rooting hormone, I have used honey and cinnamon powder. Not even a single root is shown even after 15 days. Whereas new leaves are grown. Why ? Can I pot this ?
Thank you for the video ! Can your root hormone and garden soil secret mixture be used for other types of stem cutting propagation like with pothos for example ?
Thank you, I enjoyed what you shared. I took a cutting from my hibiscus tree. I also did as you said. I've had my cutting in the water for almost 3 months. It's given new leaves, but No roots at all. I'm trying to wonder why there's no roots, but it's still alive. 🌹
bougainvillea can be easily propagated through cuttings in soil...in soil you can easily get 90-95 % success rate..:) you can try in water as their is no harm in trying...good luck ...bbye.:)
Hello Brother. Started cuttings just as you've shown. There has been good new leaf growth ,( 👏 ) but not as much of roots after a week. I am worried about keeping it longer in the solution as it has begun to smell. It's pretty hot n' humid here. How much longer should i keep it? Can i repeat the process with a new solution? Thanks already:-)
if roots are not developed than you can change the mix...:) sometime it takes more time as it depends upon the hibiscus variety, temp n other factors .....keep trying bro u will definitely get success soon ..tc good luck..:)
Change the water every few days. You will see the little rooting pods but it takes a lot longer than even two weeks to see any actual roots growing outwards.
I suggest letting your tap water offgas for a day or so before contact with plants. The chlorine in our tap water at home is strong, so letting it sit for a few days reduces the amount of chlorine in the water.
I appreciate your details on this video, specially for individuals that are learning how to propagate plants the proper way. Can honey and cinnamon only be use as root hormone for plants? Thank you for helping Us take care of our plants
@@urbangardeningofficial thank you for your kindness. Is there anything you recommend to place on plants to keep white flies and any other pest away from them
Wonderful video. Wish I had seen it earlier. My cuttings have lots of the white bumps all along the stem up to the water line. I don't have the hair like roots however. I am getting buds on the cuttings. Should I remove the buds to strengthen the cuttings? Should I now put the cuttings in soil or continue to wait until there are hair like roots? Thanks the great video.
This guy is the best on UA-cam. I owe all my fruit plants to his no nonsense approach.

Thank you for the nice video. I tried your method directly in the potting mix and the result was great. Now I transferred them to the soil.

I just came across this video so I tried doing it today took 3 cuttings hope it helps it's getting cold here though
Is that work?
Wonderful video. Wish I had seen it earlier. My cuttings have lots of the white bumps all along the stem up to the water line. I don't have the hair like roots however. I am getting buds on the cuttings. Should I remove the buds to strengthen the cuttings? Should I now put the cuttings in soil or continue to wait until there are hair like roots? Thanks the great video.
Remove buds as it will help the cuttings to focus energy on root development and you can plant them now ...some will grow n some will fail
Thank you, I will try that tomorrow.
Happy gardening 💐 good luck
Thanks for the video. Please guide if there is a need to change the water or it can just be left like that for 5-6 days
