Victor Wooten inspires me to be a better person.
Victor is not only a greatb musician and a pedagogue, it's also the joy he transmits when playing, everytime!
The greatest. No further comments on Wooten from me.
truth
I will never get tired of hearing his arrangement of amazing grace. NEVER
1:52
Man: Whaddaup naw!!! Sup brooo YOOOO YOOOO!!!!
Women: Hallelujah, Hallelujah!
Best part of the video besides Victors playing of course.
WE ARE THE BEST !!!!! PERIOD . . .
Learning amazing grace on me bass so hard to get those pinches on the third fret , man he is awesome , went to Ronnies to see him play , only cost 40 quid a ticket when Marcus was charging over a hundred , humble , kind just a awesome bloke , who is just pure love and groove , I even messaged him to say saw him play and how his dvds has been an inspiration and he messaged me back with some real motivating kind words 😮 just a dude
You'll notice that in this and the Budapest version that Victor draws from his heart so deeply that it is in fact the audience that is being played as an instrument. Both this audience and the Budapest audience respond in similar ways at similar times. Wooten is as much aware of the pitch of his harmonics as he is the emotional feedback he is receiving from claps and whoops.
that was one of his best performances of that song...loved it
I'm not a bass player, and I hadn't heard of victor wooten, but I saw him live a few months ago, and he absolutely blew my mind.
He is so good. How could you put a thumbs down?? I've been listening to him play for 25 plus years. Isn't she lovely is my favorite song he does. Love his music!!!
Amen! Victor Praise the Lord!

Venho acompanhando há dias aqui do Brasil os vídeos postados dessa garoto.... o que dizer a respeito senão "ele é realmente iluminado". Me emociono com a habilidade e a musicalidade dele. Parabéns garoto e que Deus o abençoe mantendo esse talento.

@FunkyPraise no worries, FunkyPraise. thanks for giving the name of the first song. i added it to the title and description.
the first song is Pass me Not
the greates bass player past present
The melody is clearly pass me not...though the harmonic changes are shared with parts of how great thou art.
Too good
love this cat. Unreal Victor
hallelujah
1:52 the harmonic bend had those two people lol. has me as well, each time I listen
@enigma4lyfe
It's called Harmonics. You lightly press the sting instead of actualy fretting the note. This brings out overtones that you can't normaly get. Thats the high notes you hear when he starts the melody for Aamazing Grace.
I'm a believer
ALELUYA!
👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿
Amazing!
XD
It's a funky 4/4 not 6/8.... Any way God bless this
gotta love the random clapper :)
I can't believe what i'm seeing, someone slap me to make sure it's not a dream!
they shoud put a "love" sign here, not just a 'like' one
muito fera,,,, parabens!!!
This nice. Only problem is: this is not Amazing Grace. It is Pass Me Not Oh Gentle Savior.
gloria a DEUS
COOL MEN
He plays like that because he grew up playing music with his family from an extremely early age and he's as comfortable expressing himself with his bass as you and I are at talking.
@ash31311 wow that sounds so technical, thank u for explaining
UAAAAAAAAAAAU!
o melhor...
LOL, it's even more funny if you've seen him playing in Haiti. He played this same song, and everybody in the house was keeping time with him.
Do he have any shout praise music?
may i know what genres is it ?
with this riff and " the Mad Bassist " vid i really enjoy the music :D
Man!
Muito loko 👏👏👏👏👏👏
That was sick at 1:54
A FATHER
he's the worlds baddiest bass player
Amazing!!! I'd like to see Victor play with Abé Laboriel. they're the 2 bass players that I like the most
+Joe matamba wishes do come true...I wish
Aleluia??? 1:55
Excellent!!!!
i need his bass
people shout hallelujah!
@franktisellano I was just listening to him play and then I read this and the clapping is sooo noticeable haha
oh wait i just got to amazing grace, yea that is the 1 and three haha
My bad, he does play Amazing Grace.
Wouldn't it be great to hear Victor Wooten with Tommy Emmanuel?
FOAM - BATON ROUGE LOUISIANA USA . I LINK THE MUSIE .
they have similar melodies, but i believe if you check you'll find that he is playing How Great Thou Art, instead of Pass Me Not at the beginning.
@franktisellano
It's only the white 'guitar' players. We bassists do just fine listening to this. ;D
The new Hendrix
he was playing it in 6/8 anyway, and it was a lil more random than 1 and 3 haha
how does he make the guitar sound high like that??? I know nothing about guitar and i was just wondering
this is called harmonic bro
@lachancebud It's actually not a race. The term race should be politically incorrect. The actress Charlize Theron is white but, she was born and raised in South Africa so she could be considered Afro-American. And, as for Tiger Woods well he defines himself as "Caublasian" Due to the fact he is Asian, Dutch, Native American and Black. Therefore you argument is invalid.
WHEN BLIND TYPE IN THE DARK by kevin callihan
i hate how in most wooten video theres ignorant people yelling out in the audience at the worst moments.
I get what you're saying, but I don't think Victor would like being compared to a soldier with a weapon. He's a peaceful kind of guy.
as a white drummer... i agree with the comments here. as well as banning any white non musician from ever touching a tambourine. ever. :-)
Jaco who? Just sayin'
Shut up in the background and let me hear VIC!!!!!!
IS his bass in standard tuning? It sounds a little high. Maybe its just me.
He does play tuned ADGC sometimes
I remember reading somewhere that the bass he's playing in the clip (his signature Yin Yang Fedora) bass is standard EADG tuned. However, his Monarch (also made by Fedora) is tuned ADGC).
OMG at 1:50
okay
That clap in the background is so distracting... Jeez...
@lachancebud races
giving victor wooten a bass its like giving a soldier m4a1 carbin.....
Hope the bass was +18 year old...
Thats what you do in funk dont ya?
You said it all, clappin on 1 & 3 is so noobish. Lol
wooten would slap you for saying that... as most people should
oh god third response... thats kinda racist to say and i think their clapping is just fine its just on every beat which there is nothing wrong with haha.
I do not want that applause....THAT sound ruined vic's groove....
i'm white and i'm a musician.. but i totally love this racism against white musicians :D can't help.
who's the fool clapping so out of tune?!!! :(
+Mohit Morris never knew you could clap out of TUNE :D
+Chris Shropps rather out of beat :-D
How dare he clap out of key!!!
