      Kimberly Cherrell same here and I use quidad chelating shampoo its meant for curly hair and to removes the silicones once in a while also removes hard water stuff , really gently and doesn't dry out my hair either but still gets the job done

    I was nodding my head along to this entire video Kacie! If you want quality results & for your hair to be healthy and happy you have to invest a little bit. High quality products last a lot longer than cheaper products so who knows it may all balance out at the end of the day haha.

    I don’t mind spending a little more money in styling products because thats what stays on there the longest. As long as my shampoo doesn’t strip my hair and my deep conditioner makes my hair soft Im good

    This video is just what I needed. I'm mixed (Puerto Rican and black) with really kinky curly textured hair, but my mom has never really known how to do it so she just straightened for the past 11 year. She told me I could go natural if I wanted to but anytime I would watch natural hair videos for info all the products they used were super expensive so I'm super glad I found your channel💖💖

    Silicones aren’t “bad “ as long as you use a sulfate shampoo in order to rid your strands of it. For example the ogx shampoo wouldn’t remove the silicones that the conditioner has in it. Naturals just have to understand how to use products in conjunction with each other or their ingredients.

    • @katirisherman9169
      @katirisherman9169 6 років тому +8

      LolitasFro yea it would. Silicones can be removed by most sudsy shampoos.

    • @Ayesha_5782
      @Ayesha_5782 6 років тому +13

      LolitasFro You don't need harsh sulfates to remove silicones. Sodium C14-16 olefin sulfonate (which is in the ogx shampoo) can remove silicones. Even gentle cleansers such as, "Cocamidoproyl Betaine" can remove silicones.

    • @iateyursandwiches

    Thank you! 5:31silicones are great for highly textured hair. Curly girl method is only necessary for wavy hair and loose curls(3a/3B) so it won't look stringy.
    Sulfates arent even that bad as long as you use a leave in conditioner too after conditioner or deep condition.
