It’s interesting how this was recorded in 1994 and Zev was already mentioning his new name, and shouting out monsta island czars before 1997. It’s like the foreshadowing of the next chapter.
If Black Bastards had dropped in 1994 when scheduled (hopefully with better mixing) it would've been huge. Following the popularity of Mr Hood and the fact that 36 Chambers would've just warmed up the world for that style of rap. If subroc didn't die Doomsday wouldn't have been postponed so long and the whole album would've sounded like this I bet. And subroc would've had a wicked solo career too.

some of the stuff on Operation Doomsday was written and recorded as demos as far back as '94 yes, but the entire album itself definitely wasn't recorded that far back as even the title track couldn't have been written before 1998 given some of the lyrics. and the recording of Operation Doomsday came about because MF DOOM's singles like the original 12 inch version of Dead Bent were selling very well and the label wanted him to do an album, so he was already working with them for at least a year before Operation Doomsday was even considered
His flow was so amazing I can't seem to find words on how to describe what he was. King Geedorah, Metal Face, Metal Fingers, The Villain, Zev Love X, Viktor Vaughn, MF Doom or Daniel Dumile will always be one of the greatest after life after death rest in peace.

That part of the song utilizes a Fantastic Four reference, so I assume he thus related his name (DOOM a.k.a. Dumille) to Dr Doom (the villain in the Fantastic Four). Probably just decided to run with those references and influences later on. Remember the mask very explicitly came from his love of those comics/cartoons.
