such wonderful display of pure lavish decadence...... it is almost a shame that most of these pieces never see the light of day after the shows..... I just can't fathom the size of the ateliers and people in charge of producing pieces after pieces after pieces..... not showing one collection when they are already working on the next and the next.... it is awe inspiring

Hello, I think I know why. I am not an expert but it seems to me that these clothes are created for the sake of art, they are not simple clothes, they are created to show them not to wear them. Like when you look at a beautiful painting, it is not used, it looks at itself. Art shows itself to freeze a moment in time, to exploit emotions, one can not use it.
@@Ewelf The costs are huge for these clothes . The show is also very expensive , Chanel is business afterall ,money must come from this collections ... making art at this level can ne made only if the financial resources come back from it ..
They sure will see the light of day. Couture is a big business for Chanel. It sells and it sells very well.

Just becuase Coco wore that silly hat doesn’t justify using it on all these pieces making for a look that is just plain- well - er -- silly.
it is a pity that in life cannot be seen - what is behind this laborious work, and look of the dress is not very impressive and all the charm is lost
