Not a defense, but some clarification: In Austria and Germany, hunting is weird and a lot different from hunting in the USA and Canada. It is more like owning your own aircraft. Being a hunter in the German speaking world is a real commitment. You spend amounts of money only someone well off, at least upper middle class, can afford and then the places you can hunt at are super limited. So even if you have the money and get that license that cost you as much as a pilots license, you still might be out of luck because you have nowhere to hunt. Another thing it has in common with being a private plane pilot. You need a place to put that plane. So that hand full of guys who get to actually do it, are very determined, older rich dudes who drive around in 150.000 Dollar G-Wagons with 5000 to 10.000 Dollar hunting rifles, usually.
