The funny thing is when I lived in Los Angeles I was within 5 miles of this house in a really poor neighborhood. LA is so strange it has some of the worst ghettos and probably the nicest homes I’ve ever seen all within a short distance of each other
@@SOMETHINGTOSLOWYk sometimes I go on walks around North Kensington and it’s really striking. It really makes you reflect on life, economics, inequality😅 I grew up poor in Chelsea social housing💀
@@user-wn2ho5ij5fGenerally no. Firstly this house literally didn’t sell and they reduced the price significantly. Second realtors rarely get over 1-2% commission at least in the UK. They’re so unpopular here we do anything to avoid using them when it comes to buying selling homes and looking for rentals.
I’ve got to say this thing is just a hotel. It’s decadence and excess but there isnt a comfy or cosy room in it. Unless you had 50 of your friends and family to live with you, this would feel horribly isolated and empty all the time in my opinion.
I remember reading about this house and thinking no wonder nobody has bought this place. Anyone with $500 million to spend would almost surely want to design their dream house themselves, not purchase someone else’s vision. I’m kind of surprised to hear that the eventual buyer is a fashion mogul. You would think that someone from such a creative field would bolster my theory Edit: you mentioned maintenance… do you have any estimate as to what it would cost to staff and maintain this house?
I agree about designing your own if you had this level of wealth. As for the idea of maintenance, in my mind I would guess at minimum of $1m - $2m per year but I just really don't know.
Could not sleep soundly at night in that place, would be convinced I'm hearing things moving about, or para that I left a bath running 3 miles across the property
One of my subscribers said he lives 10 minutes from here and they have never moved in. Maybe the buyer just likes to say he owns it. Some people have so much money that even owning this is just a trophy.
Your comments on worshipping celebrities. SPOT ON! Seeing all the terrible news about the evil things celebrities do to others is so frustrating and yet they get their money from us buying their music, tickets and brands. Just think how many problems we would lessen or even fix if we put our money elsewhere 💭
So true...I always tell people that stadiums are shaped like a funnel because all the money comes out of the fans pockets in the stands and falls right down to the field where the players are playing...same with concerts.
The fact that no one needs a 500 million dollar house, it is such a waste of money, in my opinion. Because if u have a normal family, u won't need more than 3 or 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, one kitchen, one living room, one garage, and a household room.
The more I think about it the more insane it is......like 42 bathrooms.....you just go to a bathroom in some corner of the house how long do you have to wait for hot water ? How many hot water tanks are there ? Is it in line ? Just starting to think about how much stuff is making this whole place go is wild.
Yeah it is unreal. The new tankless water heaters circulate the water in the water lines so that your water is hot the second you turn it on. I've even seen some cheap houses with the new tankless water heaters. Pretty cool.
the home office is likely the size of my apartment LOL hope you're well Derek!!!! best wishes for the shit storm coming to the US in the coming weeks! God speed!
Its MindBlowing how much wealth there is. When average person is struggling from paycheck to paycheck. 😂 When I was younger I had dreams of being wealthy. Maybe theres still time. I'm in my 30s. 😊 keep pushing forward never giving up.
I like that you kind of just stop talking about the house and kind of just marvel in it. It's so opulent and excessive it's almost beyond my comprehension. I don't think I would even want something this incredible. It would probably require an entire staff of people to keep all those windows, pools, etc clean and running. Like between the power, water, maintenance, property tax the upkeep on this probably costs more than an entire normal house every year to run. Just wild. Edit* I commented part way through and you get into the upkeep :p
i would honestly not feel safe even living in this house or any house this big!! i like knowing what’s going on at all times and i feel like someone would and could break in easily and i’d have no idea… of course if i installed over 1000 cameras to cover the entire premises but… yeah no!! i like being in my cozy and small home 😂 it would be nice though 😮
I easily tell myself that I just could not live in something like this but then I wonder to myself if I easily convince myself I wouldn't like it because I am not capable of living like this anyway.
I genuinly think id end up being depressed if this were my home. Its so absurdly big that to me, it doesnt feel like a home anymore. Place small shops in those rooms and you have a Mall xD I would not want a house this big
Hey, was wondering if you were going to do any traveling the next few months if you are an ASMR in public Vlog style video of you going to the airport and getting on your flight would be pretty awesome
Woah.. great video, this is so interesting. While watching, I was thinking about this lifestyle and the people who live in these houses and how they amass this amount of wealth. Perhaps a strange thought, but in some hypothetical scenario, someone were to offer me that house (only condition is I can’t sell it but everything is paid for), I’d decline without a second thought. No way. This type of wealth, to afford a place like this…billions upon billions, it just makes me so ..uncomfortable and seems so out of touch with even humanity. I’m perfectly happy living a life where I don’t have to worry about my future kid’s college, going grocery shopping without worrying about a budget, taking a yearly family vacation, etc. I consider that the type of wealth I wish to acquire and my goal. I definitely aspire to reach these goals and I’ve set myself up for this success with my job and career. But the type of wealthy that I have live in maids? A private chef? No, thank you. I’d rather cook with my future kids, have game nights, and live in a welcoming house. Don’t get me wrong, having money is nice but there becomes a certain point where I feel like you just lose part of your humanity.
Exactly the same mindset I have about this. I think we all crave financial stability but just as none of us want to be poor, on the other side of the scale is this level of disgusting wealth. Having something like this is just flaunting your wealth. I wouldn't want this anymore than I would want to be dirt poor. They are equally unappealing to me.
This house was designed to host many guests. Impressive, but not my style. Also, this scale of wealth inequality due to unfettered capitalism is pretty disgusting and a clear sign that the ‘American Empire’ is in decline.
Can't argue with you there. I like capitalism but this just shows there is room to improve. No one should live like this while some among us go hungry.
@@ASMRReality I also like capitalism, but it needs to be held in check so this magnitude of inequality doesn’t happen. At this point it’s not a society worthy of supporting. This where I tend to agree with Bernie Sanders.
If i ever had that much money 💰 to buy a house like that i would rather buy units or houses for the homeless And i would rather live in a normal average home 🏠
