The next arc kintama arc start right after the thorny arc in the manga. It make things make sense in the start. Courtesan arc is one of my favorite arc and pretty high rated loved arc by fans so I’m excited for you guys to watch it!!
I'm pretty sure the Japanese New Year tradition where you give kids an envelope with money is pretty common in other Asian countries; specifically China. In Lunar New Year, all the kids get red envelopes full of money from relatives; especially their grandparents. So funny with Gin and Tsukky visibly arguing on loaning the other money, to the point the rest of the gang is second hand embarrassed for them. 😆 Also, quite the lewd joke describing how Tsukky's ass felt, ( ͡❛ ₃ ͡❛) it's no wonder she knocked his balls off in compensation. I wonder if the implication is that Eli is younger than Gin, or Takasugi. Cause from what I understand in the Joi Patriot age chart by the series end, Sakamoto is the oldest, second oldest is Gin (if it is the case), third is Takasugi, and Zura is actually the youngest. I kind of thought Gintoki's IOU reveal for Kagura was going to be "a coupon for Sukonbu (pickled seaweed)". And I bet Sougo has places where he stashes those bazookas around Kabukichou, so maybe he told Shin once as a favor in the past. (I wouldn't put it pass this guy illegally storing government weapons for kicks/backup). Also, if Gin had just given them their New Year's money instead of screwing with them, I feel like it probably would have ended in a sweet way. Because when him and the kids go out to have a nice meal to celebrate the holiday, there was some endearing moments that played out; including the rare and genuine smile Gintoki gives when he feels content and happy to be with other people. But a troll episode is a troll episode in the end. 😂
Interesting! I wonder if every culture has a holiday to give kids money, I know mexico has one because I grew up with that. We call it Día de Los Reyes and it's the day the wise men visit baby jesus. You leave your shoe out by the door and the wise men visit and leave money in it! Sometimes you take the calculated risk when it comes to describing how the butt feels. It was a high risk but I don't blame him for going for it Wait that is how the age breakdown goes? Huh... I always assumed Sakamoto was the youngest and not Katsura... Zura actually does act the most child like so it makes sense. Tactically placing Bazookas in randomy places sounds like something he would EXACTLY do! That's the fun of Gintama is that they set up a sweet ending and there is still a 50/50 chance it's going to be a troll episode. Somehow both feels appropriate when it happens!
I loved fhe way Shinpachi screamed "She threw up in front of God!!" When Kagura starts to hurl in the church instead of apologizing. 😂 I'm oretty sure i was caught up with Gintama when they were reaching this point of uncertainty of the anime's fate. And while it was a little sad to think about the possibility of the anime potentially never coming back, I was somehow okay with it. Maybe because the series always committed to making the experience with the series such a fun ride that i was willing to accept whatever was the future. But boy, am I sure glad the studio never gave up on this cast and Gorilla; particularly with the inevitable payoffs that show even a seemingly chaotic mess of idiots, parodies, and dirty jokes can create a series that can easily be on par with many top tier series in storytelling. And you guya definitely coming down to the wire fast. o(*≧▽≦)ツ And speaking of which, I'll see where I left off on the watch order list I made for you to see if i cant help contribute again.
I am coming back to these months later (damn you busy schedule) and I almost cracked up laughing at reading "She threw up in front of God!!" lol So it was kind of like that feeling of you felt satisfied in the ride it took you on... I get that. If Gintama had finished early it be a bummer but it would have been due to unfortunate circumstances instead of a quality issue. Still great that it made it there in the end! We were coming down the wire so fast God punished us (One of my doggos got real sick and our entire family were on dog watch until she got better + Zen had to go on vacation right when she started getting better. Sunday hopefully we record again) Always feel free to hit me up with watch order updates! I'm basically always available and if I'm not I'll wake up eventually!
Yeah, if there was a place like a China Town or Little Tokyo closer to me selling authentic traditional furniture for a Belgian, I'd absolutely get one, too. They just look so comfy and one of the few seating areas I'd be willing to sit near the floor for. And I think even in the summer they're supposedly a nice little space to hang around, cause you just turn off the heater and remove the quilt. Honestly ita a cute and funny episode that seems like Sorachi's metaphorical comment on Kotatsu, which strangely feels relatable in this day and age where you want to laze about. 😆 It's also great how well Gintama implements comments/jokes on LGBTQA+ in media without being offensive. Other than whatever the mess was fhat was episode 88(which by coincidence where the Freak had his first demerit as a character), most that talk about it or make a joke that are tasteful and subtle enough to age well.
Man... if I had the space I'd try to get one. Especially with the winters getting as cold as they do now. He really does find a way to eloquently talk about being lazy! Yeah Gintama is great for that when you consider the time it released. Just sometimes the freak gets off his leash and needs to be sent back to earth. It's the hardest part about going back to some comedies because sometimes they have a joke that makes me go "ohhhh riiiight..."
I'll see if I can find it so I can add it for an after the movie thing to see! I've tried looking for some of the jump festa stuff in the past and it's been a bit annoying to find but I think I should be able to find it.
Yeah, tbf Slumdog Millionaire was going against pretty slim competition at the time. And honestly it wasn't that bad a movie when I think about it. Sure, I haven't watched it in years after only watching it once or twice, but it did have some moments that were pretty good; at least from what I remembered. But I'd properly watch this episode more than the movie itself. Mad so always makes things more fun. 😆

Yeeeah, as much as I want to be open-minded to both anime and fans alike, its disappointing how most things that are influenced is dictated by what is hype and mainstream. The last Jump Star game really was just a roster of what people in the West knew and liked at the time, which is so blase and generic after you get over the "Wow i know them!"
Yeah my favorite rosters are always "Super Popular" mixed with "Who" and "Oh cool!". Crossover fighters can do wonders for franchises that are lesser known, Melee having Marth and Roy made people aware of Fire Emblem. I want that for Jump Series!
