    Great lesson. The skin is fascinating. For a few years I've been following some Asian beauty bloggers where there is a pH obsession but outside that as you say I don't think i've seen it mentioned!

      I know right?! If Asian beauty bloggers are obsessed than you knoooow it is for real!! I think part of it is that we really just don't know how important it is.

    Thank you Rie for this video. I'm a skincare teacher and I also was surprised to find out that pH is not a subject that Estheticians are not passionate about or are not considering it when doing a skin analysis. It's overlooked but it is so important. It's also a key component in acid peels. So thank you for reminding us about it.

    Very informative video No wonder why my skin was always red and irritated because of soap and drying effects of it

    • @riebags
      @riebags  Рік тому

      🙌❤️ well I don’t think it is always soap per say but rather the formula and manufacturer are always key. I mean Irish springs isn’t meant for face but… there are a few small indie brands that make great facial soaps. To be honest the skin is great at regulating it’s own pH and wat has a pH of 7 soooo

    Fascinating, thank you for sharing this! pH is so important to our health inside and out. I have also been learning a lot about skin biology and lipid barrier health, and when it is compromised or damaged, we can get infections, develop sensitivity, etc. I have been learning too that using only oils for skincare contributes to damage which is why I developed sensitivity and multiple types of breakouts rather than just hormonal. I would love to hear more videos about skin biology!

      +Ashlynn Kap crazy that there is so much more to it then just putting stuff on your face! Definitely thinking a ceramides and skin cycle video are coming

    Looks like I need to be thanking my face microbes...The only skin care products that I have heard talk about the Ph in a particular product is Korean skin care. Great video..thanks for sharing...my inner nerd is very happy!

    The face products that I use, the company talks about pH all the time, and all their line is pH balanced. I’m also surprised that other brands don’t talk too much about it. But I’m happy all of the products I use have the correct pH. I use SeneGence by the way. Thanks for your video!

    • @riebags
      @riebags  6 років тому

      Yes! So since I made this video, there has been a lot more brands making thei pH known. So very interesting. Ironically enough tho, I have started using soap on my face which has a higher pH (I am going to have a video out about it in a few weeks)

      To be honest, you don't really need to! Skin likes to hang out in a 5.5 range and will adjust itself to keep in balance
