    I love this place. The newly renovated rooms are much nicer than the way they used to be. I stayed here in 2017 and I loved it. I will definitely stay here again, and I can recommend this place to anyone. My room tip is to try and stay above 36 to get minimal noise from the outside of the hotel
    Also Im going to elaborate about the elevators here. This hotel has a Destination System Control elevator system. The hotels elevators when you place a call on one of the floors, it will not call the closest car like a conventional system, instead it will call an elevator with people that are going to similar floors to minimize travel time. If you want to go from 1 to 8, you will likely get placed on an elevator that have people going to floor 8 instead of a random car.

    Thanks for this video it really has helped and I am looking into booking. One question : Is there a difference between a city view and a time square view room?

    • @tomsunday
      @tomsunday  9 місяців тому +1

      Hi Anjelica. I am glad you found the video helpful. City view is what you can see at the 6 minute marker in this video. That was my room. Time Square view rooms are located directly in the front of the hotel. If you want to look out of your window and see the main part of Times Square, you need to book one of them.

    Really great and informative video. Well done! Question about the elevator issue. You mentioned you had to wait almost 40 mins due to an elevator issue, are there no stairs? Sorry if this seems like a dumb question but you mentioned there was no other way to go down. I find that odd. What if there was an emergency and you could not take the elevators how else would you get down to exit the hotel?

    • @tomsunday
      @tomsunday  6 місяців тому +2

      Thanks for your kind words. I am glad you enjoyed the video. There are stairs you can take in case of an emergency. I just had suitcases with me and we were on the 28th floor.

    Great review. The only thing that would've made it better was if you'd given a price range instead of just saying "expect to pay a premium... well this is nyc". You can give like a comparative price point and mention that things may be slightly higher during peak seasons (like christmas).

      I am glad you enjoyed the video. Great tip about price comparison. I will do that in my next review.

    I’m looking to take my 14 year old son to time square for a couple of nights for his bday. What would you suggest for a hotel? Trying to figure out if parking would be better or to take a bus in. Any suggestions would be much appreciated!

    • @tomsunday
      @tomsunday  Рік тому +4

      Hi Kayla! Nice to meet you. If Times Square is your final destination (where you will spend most of your nights), the Marquis is one of the best choices. Your son may even be impressed by the elevators and all of the buzz. There are other hotels that are more boutique but nothing a 14 year old would appreciate.
      I would definately avoid driving in. Its never a good idea to drive in NYC. Another thing to note, NYC legalized marijuana recently. Times Square has quite a few people smoking in public. You can smell it. Just FYI when you are walking around with your son.
      If you have any other questions, please let me know, I hope you two have a wonderful time. Cheers!

      @@tomsunday that was one I was really wanting to go to but I think it’s a little over my price range 😩 I’m going April vacation so I think the prices are more than usual. I was checking out M Social, or Margaritaville Resort but wanted to make sure it was close enough to everything. Which of those two would you think is better? And better location between the two?

    Can you go in and out , if you have a rental car & valet there???

    • @tomsunday
      @tomsunday  5 місяців тому +3

      Yes you can but i highly suggest not using a car anywhere in that area. Subway is much faster and easier to use. It will take you hours just to get out of that block.

    Can I see new years eve fireworks from this hotel?

    • @tomsunday
      @tomsunday  4 місяці тому +1

      There is a patio and a restaurant with outside tables but I think you have to be eating there. If you want the exact details, call the front desk and ask if you need to make reservations for a spot to view the fireworks.

      Glad you enjoyed the video and the camera work my Friend. Flying a drone in the US Commercially requires a license. Flying in NYC requires permission as well. But generally its much easier to fly a drone in teh US vs the rest of the world.
