Hey Mandy, another great hotel review. This is exactly the type of video review travelers need. Also, you should add your recs on Plannin. Congrats on a job well done.
🗽 great content as always, Mandy! I’ve just returned from NYC and stayed at the Conrad Downtown. Previously I’d stayed at the Motto in Chelsea. The Conrad is far nicer, but I prefer the vibe of Chelsea. I can’t imagine staying in Times Square unless it were absolutely necessary!
Fantastic presentation, love your outlook and opinions. My wife and I stay at the Conrad midtown or one of the HGV. We are mature so we don’t hotel hop, too old to move our luggage around. We’ll have to give the W a try. We enjoy staying between Central Park and Times Square. Please keep the reviews coming. Did you guys use points for your stays? Enjoy your travels!!
Great video... Question: We currently have Platinum Elite status via AMEX Bonvoy Brilliant, and was curious to know if you've ever stayed at the Marriott Marquis Times Square as well? We're planning an upcoming family trip, and trying to decide on whether we should stay at either the MM Times Square or W Times Square for 2-3 nights this coming Summer... Just looking for the best experience and upgrade opportunities that'll best work in our favor...
I stayed at the Marriott Marquis Times Square ~10 years ago. I think they renovated since then, plus there's an M Club Lounge which is a huge plus compared the W. I would choose based on the vibe of the hotel and if you value lounge access or not.
@@MandyRoams Okay, good to know... And yes, I definitely value Lounge Access, especially for this upcoming trip! Thanks for the valuable feedback to consider...
🗽this video was extremely helpful. Me and my wife are going to New York in July and was deciding between hotels. The W was on the list and with my status as well hoping for an upgrade to a room like you guys.🤞There weren't many review so this video helped me make the decision. Any suggestion of things so must do would be nice? thanks
The benefit of NYC is that there's pretty much an infinite number of things to do! Food is usually on the top of our list, so worth making reservations to things that you (and especially your wife) would love :)
🗽Usually Midtown because of work! Been sticking to Marriotts as well like the W or Renaissance, but might try out The EDITION Time Square this time around.. Have you been to that one? I wonder what the chances of upgrades are with Marriott Plat for a nearly week long trip at these properties?
🗽We typically stay in downtown Manhattan at the Beekman Hotel or the Wall Street Inn. Otherwise, I house sit in Park Slope. The W you guys stayed at looked good to me.
We stayed at the Beekman for two weeks three years ago in a room off of the main atrium/skylight area and those rooms were new. I visited the bar area under the skylight last August and I didn't notice a change in their service. It looks like you enjoyed your time in NYC. Thanks for producing an informative video. Say hi to Sebby!
🗽I usually stay in midtown area near Central Park. Most recently at AKA New York, a quiet apartment style hotel popular with media types. Picked by my boss. He had the big suite while I had a large room with window facing alleyway and another building. But location was great on 58th st.
I may be in the minority but I prefer to stay near Times Square. Knowing I can walk down at any time of the night and be pretty safe since there are usually people around is a plus. Plus it's an easy access point to the rest of NYC.
Since my daughter attends college in NYC, I have been there many times in the past 3 years. We stayed at the W before, and I am not impressed with the property. We normally stayed at the Westin Time Square.
🗽🗽I like Hyatt Herald Square - it’s clean and simple. Had a father / daughter trip a few years back. They had really good dinner specials and the roof top grill you can see the Empire State Building on one side and if you look the other way you can see the 9/11 Memorial pretty cool
Me And My Beautiful Asian Soulmate (Maya-Minnie-Chu) Will Be Finally Getting Married In New York City’s Time Square On November 24, 2024; She Will Be Wearing Cinderella’s Glass Slippers With Her Wedding Dress; We Will Be Also Staying In One Of The Hotels There Too.
I think our go-to is still Financial District. Feels a bit "further away" from the hustle and bustle but still super convenient. Any recommendations for Jersey? Might try it next time :)
@@MandyRoams Yikes! The W Hoboken used to be a decent redemption but it looks like dynamic pricing has killed it off. Last time we stayed at the Residence Inn in weehawken - although if you ride to midtown you’ll need to walk to the subway to Hudson yards, take the bus, or my fav suggestion of getting a citi bike. Now evaluating Marriott dynamic pricing kicking in, id say my next stay is gonna be FiDi too!
I can’t believe I made it into another Mandy video! 😍 Great breakdown of each hotel! I agree with it all :)
Oh, also 🗽
Always a great time hanging out! 🥰
🗽Thanks for the consistent content as of lately Mandy.
Thanks for watching! :)
Never been to NYC so videos like this are super helpful!
Glad it's helpful! :)
Great video Mandy! I love these hotel comparison videos.
Thanks for watching :) :)
Thank you so much for doing this! So so helpful. You’re amazing.

Mandy is a great reviewer - just the facts with no hype or fluff 👍🏼

Love the Conrad! Agree, we usually avoid Times Square.

Sad to see the Conrad Midtown leave the Hilton portfolio in June 😢

The EDITION looks solid! Upgrades are usually easier on shorter stays. Or if it's the offseason (January in NYC for example).
🗽We typically stay in downtown Manhattan at the Beekman Hotel or the Wall Street Inn. Otherwise, I house sit in Park Slope. The W you guys stayed at looked good to me.
Love the skylight at the Beekman! The rooms felt a bit dated though and service last time we went wasn't the best.

That sounds awesome!
I would recommend Edition by Madison Square Park next time you r in NY 🗽

It definitely is a vibe! Walking around at 2am and feeling safe and giant neon signs. Seb loves doing video / photography at night haha

Will give the Westin a try next time :) Any other ones you like in particular?

Nice! I'll have to check it out next time.

I hate staying in NYC. Too busy/loud and expensive! Rather stay in jersey and take the ferry.
I think our go-to is still Financial District. Feels a bit "further away" from the hustle and bustle but still super convenient.
