You know what's very interesting! BJ Thomas', who originally sang 'Raindrops Keep Falling on my Head', his version charted at 20 in Australia and one year later, Johnny Farnham covered the song and it went to number 1 in the Australian charts.
Love this version with the most handsome man ❤️! His voice makes me feel better everytime I listen to this song, and all of his other songs ❤️! I really hope he's getting better soon 🙏! Sending all my love to him and his family from me here in Sweden 🇸🇪.
did you see him in the 1950’s, 1960’s, 1970’s, 1980’s, 1990’s, 2000’s, 2010’s then did you forget how long he has been around in the 1980’s, 1990’s, 2000’s?
Awesome stuff! I've been singing this song since I was a young girl! Love, love, love it! I just posted my rendition and our fandalism friend told me bout this! Great rendition Johnny Farmham, my fandalism friend! Wonderful work! :) xxs
Apart I suppose from "Sadie, the rest of Johnny Farnham's songs were great. Thinking of "Comic Conversations", and the one he did with Alison Durbin, and the rest !!
I LOVE THIS SONG. IT INSPIRED ME TO MAKE A VIDEO WITH MY HARMONICA. I JUST PLAY BY EAR. USING MY HOHNER SPECIAL 20 IN C. HAVE A LISTEN AND TELL ME IF YOU LIKE IT.
No it wasn’t just before Johnny Farnham’s 1st (first) retirement as he retired as a singer in 1977 or 1978 or 1979 then in 1980 he joined Little River Band then after Glen Shorrock the singer of Little River Band departed in 1982 or 1983 JF became the singer
I'd only previosly heard the song with BJ Thomas on vocals. I prefer the more velvety sound of BJ Thomas rather than the John Farnham vocals. JF sings this one with too high of a pitch making his vocals sound a wee bit "tinny" . Also, preferred Glenn Sherrock in LRB over JF.
It's pleasant, but sorry - just so simple compared to BJ Thomas, who had one of the greatest voices of all time - matched only by having one of the most self-destructive personalities.
Like BJ's it was cute and worked well with the film but was a bit too 'creamy' a bit too smooth....like the raw 'Brit' style of Farnsy...a bit Herman Hermits...
Agree with you. Thomas is a great vocalist but I don't he has the range that Farnham has. Still like BJ Thomas's best songs, even if he didn't write them.
Vocals OK, but that the brass section in the guts? WTF? It's as if it was lying on the cutting room floor. (where it should have stayed- it's fucking horrid) and the producer was forced at gunpoint to include it.
This remains my favourite version of the song. And this really takes me back to a much happier period of my life.
Best version ! Johnny Farnham has a fabulous voice.
The saying “You’re The Voice” comes from his fabulous voice!
One of Australia’s best singers ever! John Farnham as a baby singer. Awesome.
I remember him singing it live. 1974 music for the people Sidney Myers music bowl. Timeless
The great John Farnham he has been entertaining us for over fifty years.
Johnny Farnham he sings this the best

Brings back fond memories
Magical version Johnny we Aussie's all loved it.
The best.
the best times in australia
I can’t say I’m a big fan of the mid- song instrumental, but John Farnham, what a voice you had back then! You’re the Voice!
Still has a great voice!
It's a shocker!
IKR? Awful - it's like the record needle skipped to another song!
@@harrisionstan3773a shocker as in bad or good?
I used to love this song . I used to sing this song all the time . Love his voice . I love aussie rock .😃🤘
This is/was more Aussie pop...

Great vocal. And love the imaginative musical turn in the middle.

The 400th number one song in Australia.

Rip John
Hes not dead
a very ambitious lad
He was only 20 then and 18 when he did Sadie The Cleaning Lady.
🥰

there is singing like teen!
I've always liked BJ Thomas since "Mama" and "Hooked on a Feeling" especially, but I think J. Farnham's version of this song had that something extra.
No better version
Bj Thomas made the song but Johnny Farnham did a cover
Song belongs to Burt Bacharach and Hal David. Thomas and Farnham are just vocalists who were lucky enough to record it.

Was this just before his first retirement?

RIP Burt Bacharach
Jesus Christ is singing in Golgotha on Saturday

Yeah I prefer BJ too. Farnham's voice got deeper and better ands he got older imo.
It's pleasant, but sorry - just so simple compared to BJ Thomas, who had one of the greatest voices of all time - matched only by having one of the most self-destructive personalities.

Lmao BJ Thomas is not even close to Farnham's vocals. Two different tiers.
better than bj thomas i think .
Phil White I agree.
Of course! That's Farnham. Aussies finest.
Agree with you. Thomas is a great vocalist but I don't he has the range that Farnham has. Still like BJ Thomas's best songs, even if he didn't write them.
No where near BJ's version.
Vocals OK, but that the brass section in the guts? WTF? It's as if it was lying on the cutting room floor. (where it should have stayed- it's fucking horrid) and the producer was forced at gunpoint to include it.
B.J Thomas did it better
I like John Farnham's vocals better and I'm an American who grew up with the B.J. Thomas version!
Lazy cover. The soprano is annoying
Not the worse cover, BJ Thomas is much better.
