Much as this book is considered by many THE book on card table magic, I do believe The Royal Road has had way more impact in terms of pedagogy and cardmanship. Who agrees??
@MegaTorontoRaptors it isn't too hard I'll explain in detail. 1.) you go online or to a bookstore 2.) look for "The Expert on the Card Table" 3.) Buy it (i'm sure this will be the hardest part for you) 4.) Read it and learn from it and practice all of it 5.) Realize that for the price of the book it is actually worth a 100 times more for what you learn. These sleights are everywhere and once you understand them you can understand most magic tricks.
Yo Sternmagic, forget all the moronic comments. Excellent video: great sleight execution, aesthetically pleasing and AMAZING music choice. Can you tell us about the camera/lighting used? And also, where do I find similar funky music?! Loved it mate.
@solittleusernames For the record, the copyright on this book is long out-dated and it's actually available free (legally) online. Although you are correct in saying that the value of the contents is actually priceless.
@chaosblood2111 Dude...if you didn't notice he's showing how some of the moves are done. That switch was meant to be seen. You didn't catch the switch, he showed you the switch.
I like the description: "Watch in HD if your internet permits it. ", how different was the internet 11 years ago. Was this a Dan and Dave contest? I remember some video challenge from long time ago with Erdnase theme
@MegaTorontoRaptors I think there are videos explaining every aspect of the whole book that you could buy online which would be more expensive of the book but it would be worth it
@SalsaShoeProductions I wouldn't be surprised if you could go to any book store like barns and noble and find at least one copy. Amazon will have several versions I'm sure.
The book, 'Expert At The Card Table' is not my book, Bubby. But, I do own it. I bought it. It is a gem of a book that reveals the world's most expert card handling. The book is revered by card Mechanics as one of the best to learn the secrets of how to do astounding card mechanics that the pros use. Although, some card Mechanics do contradict some of the publishing, but for the most part do agree on the majority. (But of course I leave that up to the reader.) The book also has back stories about the Author, S. W. Erdnase, (deceased), in the 'Foreword', states that when the name is spelled backward, it is, E.S. Andrews, revealing the true identity of the Author. Andrews was a pro card cheat. There are also many other interesting facts about the Author and the book. If you are remotely or seriously interested in learning card handling then this book is for you!
I just want to add that I say, "...my book;" and "I own it," is not to refer that it is my published works or I own the rights to the book. But, simply own a copy of the book. So when I say ..."my book" and "I own it." I was simply implying, "...my copy" of the book. Also, when I say,. ..."I own it." I was referring that I own a copy of the book, 'The Expert At The Card Table.' Sometimes when writing a comment. The use of Proper grammar or conveying a thought can be misused inadvertently.
One more additional clarification of my comment about Erdnase's Video. Edit comment: "Wonderful video. I must go through my copy of the book in great detail and master the sleights in the book!"
Thank you, my friend. As I read back my comment, it does sound like I was asking one to read my works of, 'The Expert At The Card Table' book. I lol at it after I re-read my comment. It was meant as an (!) point of my excitement to study the book and practice hard on such a great piece of publication. I am glad that you understand now what I meant to convey as thought to do such study and practice of the publication. As a writer I know better to exercise my use of Adjectives, Verbs and such. I'll try to make sure that in the future that I put the correct parts of speech in place. Thank you for the feedback, my friend. Stay well and be blessed. Also, "Keep the magic alive!"
Thank you, Bubby. Yes, some people will get bent out of shape over misunderstandings. I knew that you didn't mean anything personal. It was just the way that I worded the comment. You spoke on something that you believed in and I respect you for that. Feel free to give me a shout out anytime and who knows, we might meet up later somewhere, somehow in the future. Until then, "Keep the magic alive!" Master Close-Up Prestidigitator: Samuel Luther Hodges, Jr. (aka: Sam Sink / Luther).
@DEFThands08 I think that was the whole idea. He's showing, just like the book, how the move is pulled off and how it looks from the card dealers side if he was to be the confederate.
Whoever wrote the book, he should have known Houdini's cards moves since the famous Erdnase transformation was developed by Houdini years before the publication of the book. Do you concur?
Well, if you want to get that technical then your right. But everybody has there own variations and grips that feel natural to them. He just did what worked best for him.
Really like this. Im going through Expert at the Card Table now.
very well made! love the editing and quality!
Wonderfully done. Would love to c more videos from this nameless card maestro.

Much as this book is considered by many THE book on card table magic, I do believe The Royal Road has had way more impact in terms of pedagogy and cardmanship. Who agrees??
very inspirational
Nicely done sir.

Does anyone know where you can get that edition of Expert At The Card Table
Yo Sternmagic, forget all the moronic comments. Excellent video: great sleight execution, aesthetically pleasing and AMAZING music choice. Can you tell us about the camera/lighting used? And also, where do I find similar funky music?! Loved it mate.
What camera, software and music did you use!!! Wicked cool!!!

LIKE times 1 million!
really nice video enjoyed it.. where can I buy this book? I have the bible edition but I would like a "larger" version
Nice vid man. Where did you pick up that sweet ass facsimile edition of erdanse?. I want one.
@SPACKlick think of what it looks like from the front side -- where the back of the right hand is facing. You're looking at the exposed view.
i enjoyed it.
Was that second deal really the method described in EATCT? It seemed more like a strike. Nevertheless, excellent ruse.
Wow! The diagonal palm shift was very clean.
@solittleusernames For the record, the copyright on this book is long out-dated and it's actually available free (legally) online. Although you are correct in saying that the value of the contents is actually priceless.
what is the music? please!
What you are doing is not a diagonal palm shift also the second deal is a stroke not an Erdnase double push.
@chaosblood2111 Dude...if you didn't notice he's showing how some of the moves are done. That switch was meant to be seen. You didn't catch the switch, he showed you the switch.

what i want to know is where is the blind shuffle, it is by far the most useful move in expert at the card table.
@MegaTorontoRaptors I think there are videos explaining every aspect of the whole book that you could buy online which would be more expensive of the book but it would be worth it
Good Technique in general! The Second Deal has a brief you can drive a Truck Thru! I deal a Briefless Second! Video coming soon!!!
I noticed that too.
@SalsaShoeProductions I wouldn't be surprised if you could go to any book store like barns and noble and find at least one copy. Amazon will have several versions I'm sure.

i beleive you are correct, sir
It says buy on the side and if you cant see it "Le sauvage : La maison aux oiseaux"
Wonderful. Must go through my book in great detail. Master these to the 'T'.

Well this was a pretty simplistic summary of what it actually beholds…
I like it...its like it's been shot on the duvet of an old fashioned hotel
