I started AIP three days ago, found your channel last night, watched a bunch of your videos, and am so inspired by you! I’ve been staring at the fridge for 25 min every morning and then wind up eating leftover chicken or half an avocado for breakfast because I don’t know what else to do. I know I’m going to learn so much from you!

In Jamacia, we make a banana porridge by grating green bananas adding them to boiling water and let cook for about 10mins stirring occasionally. Then add coconut milk cinnamon and vanilla. Some people add condensed milk to it also,

Thanks for this recipe. I'll definitely give it a try.
I also like the spaghetti squash porridge, but when I don't have any squash on hand, or don't feel like cooking, I love my fauxgurt.
    1/2 avocado
1/2 cup coconut milk or cream
1+ tsp lemon juice to taste
1/4-1/3 cup any kind of berries or fruit
Blend in a mini chopper until thick and creamy, about 30-45 seconds.
Quick, easy, delicious, and filling. I usually have some kind of sausage patty or bacon with it for protein.
    Enjoy!

@@RealWorldAIP By the way, I make "chocolate" pudding the same way, only without the lemon juice. Just add some carob powder in place of the fruit, and the sweetener of your preference to taste (honey, coconut nectar, maple sugar, etc.). And if you freeze it, it makes an excellent "Gelato."

FIrst of all, I have searched ALL of pinterest and going on paleo (with egg allergies and protein limitations) I was FRUSTERATED. I got to the point where it was all-or-nothing. I would cook myself to death, have food waste, or just not eat at all. (I prefer to just not eat.) I love your channel!!!! You actually have REAL ideas. My largest struggle is that my doc wants me to get in 20 grams of protein per meal and eat 3 meals a day. That's hard for me. I have gotten to the point where I just HATE smoothies, and to cook anything, it's just a struggle. I also have been cheating on my meats (Think processed maple chicken breakfast sausages) My doc wants them to be fresh. Because if it is leftover meat, I guess the histamine goes up? So frustrated. lol I'm going to try this, but I'm going to try adding hemp and pumpkin protein to it. (Maybe tiger nuts?) Idk.... Getting creative.
    In this together! -Shannyn

Boy, I wish I had this recipe last Labor Day weekend. It would have saved me from pitying glances from my cousins as I ate my warmed spaghetti squash oatmeal as they chowed down on Tudor biscuit world’s biscuits and gravy. My adventures this morning was to cook 3 plantains in ip for 35 minutes. They came out fluffy! To 230 g of plantains, I added 45 g of shredded gala apple, 1/2 tsp of cinnamon, 1/2 cup of coconut milk and 1/2 c water. I puréed with an immersion blender. It was delicious and excellent consistency but too sweet so just ate half of it. I will save it to add to coconut yogurt. I love these flavors having discovered plantain fritters from the Paleo Approach cookbook.

I am just starting AIP with my daughters, one married, one in college and one in highschool, all with autoimmune issues. I am already inspired so much by your videos but it's taking me a while to figure out the best way to batch cook and reheat. You offer so many great ideas but I haven't seen yet how you reheat if you're not home with your trusty toaster oven. Do you microwave any of this for reheating? What about the porridge? Since I have to make so much of everything, I don't want to be making things that don't travel and reheat well with my daughters. Thanks so much!

    • @RealWorldAIP
      @RealWorldAIP  4 роки тому +1

I do use a microwave lately- I stopped for awhile but life got hectic and I started relying on one more and more. Dr. Sarah is not against microwaving so that makes me feel better about it. Many foods are fine cold too for on the go purposes. One of my favorite no-heat meals is a square of my pimped burger bake with a banana...

It keeps in the fridge about 5-6 days. I have frozen It and it's totally fine when reheated but the texture is not good to eat cold after freezing, it gets spongy until you heat it up😉

I freeze almost eveything on the planet, but I have to say, plantain sometimes takes on an odd texture after it freezes and thaws. The flavor would be fine.
