Replace Honda with Subaru and you got it right
I’ve had less issues and trips to the dealer in my 2014 Chevy vs my 2024 Mazda.
@@stown308well this is objectively and statistically false.
@stown308 I agree. Honda's reliability has fallen down significantly, even below some American cars. Only very loyal or diehard Honda customers are the only people saying that it's still reliable. Most American cars are only good when you lease it. For long-time ownership and savings, Lexus and Toyota are definitely the top choices.

Dumped my 21 Dodge Durango RT. It only had 29,000 mi on it. Transmission issues, suspension and allignement issues, tire issues and balancing issues, brake issues, infotaintment issues. Gas guzzler and seats were not very comfortable over longer road trips. Yes, it was fast and fun for a big SUV and was definately eye candy. I decided to buy a used Lexus, its higher miles but smooth as butter, quiet and drives and looks like it's new. Done with new cars. The key to buying a used vehicle is finding one that has no accidents and a good long documented history of regular maintenance (Car Fax)

That’s a very irregular and all connected list of issues.
Gas fusler is normal given the HEMI.
The ZF is one of the best transmissions in the market, even Honda uses their products.
The rest sounds like extreme wear and tear.
I have 4 durangos for the family, all have HEMI, all are well within 150k.
I’ve prematurely avoided the “tick” with a high flow oil pump replace and made sure all fluids (engine aside) are replaced every 12 months regardless of mileage.
These SUVs are rock solid for us.
As for seats it’s not a product issue that personal preference

I know that you have said Subaru is on the top ten list for most reliable vehicles. May I ask where does it fall on that list? I am just curious.
Also, from one of your previous videos, do Subarus pass the 200,000 mile marker and keep going? Or is this not the case?
Consumer Reports ranks Subaru 6th out of 30 brands. We’ve had 9 over the years, no major problems with any of them. Just as reliable as Toyota, Honda & Mazda. I’ve had a few of those too. Subarus are easy to do maintenance on & their awd system is the best. Especially in rain & snow. Very safe in wrecks as well. 👍🏻
@chrisb9478 Chrisb, thank you for the informative reply. I appreciate it.
I have always had Subarus in my life as a daily driver vehicle. It started back in 1985 when my father was given an '85 wagon with turbo and 4wd all the time (before AWD.) Since that time my parents had other wagons. All of which were phenomenal. Except for our 1989 GL10 wagon that had air suspension. Those were very expensive to replace and opted for regular shocks when the time came for replacement.
Me, personally, I have had three subarus (all sedans.) My second to last was a 2000 Legacy GT. I had it for 13 years. There were only two major issues they came apparent at that time: The left side motor mount and both front transaxles. Both were not cheap to replace, but I didn't have any issues afterwards. No head gasket issues either.
The last Subaru I owned was a 2013 Impreza Limited. Fantastic car but the seats started to become uncomfortable after 2 years.
I currently own a 2016 Nissan X-Trail (Rogue.) No major issues at all. I want to buy an Outback or Legacy. I'm leaning towards the Outback due to living in the mountains of Ecuador, South America currently.
Unfortunately, they are too expensive here and even in the States at the moment.
Hopefully I can in the near future.
@@SuperLegacyGT The newer Outback XT’s are awesome cars for the money by the way!

Stellantis just flat out made a red headed stepchild out of chrysler. They only have 2 models in their lineup and they couldnt get the attention to detail to be good, if not great, vehicles. As someone who enjoys his dodges/chryslers, im aware theyre not the pinnacle of reliability. That said, theyve never really given any issues without reason, like excessively delayed maintenance. Im a firm believer that 90% of all car problems can be prevented through routine maintenance. Just my $0.02. :)
I am a former Toyota Tech and out sister station beside us was a Chrysler dealer(same dealer owner)..Chrysler products are as reliable if not more than Toyota products..The thing is look at maintenance and the way they're driven..Toyota/Lexus are mainly bought by 65 year olds on average while Dodge has the youngest buyers..So when people buy them used well an abused car wont be as reliable as a highly maintained one..
One other thing,a Chrysler owner will have any type of issue no matter how small and complain a Toyota owner will have any type of problem no matter how catastrophic and say,its just maintenance..Even if it isn't maintenance they will always say it is...I replaced Toyota engines at 30,000 miles and Toyota owners said,oh well maintenance or it's just a fluke not so!
I also owned both brands and never had a issue with a Dodge/Chrysler/RAM/Jeep...The only new car we had issues with was my wife's then 8 month old Lexus GS350 that needed a engine at 6000 miles! She had a Chrysler 300S 5.7 Hemi with 130,000 miles with zero issues, nothing! Yes we had reliable Toyota's with no issues either but.

I always look forward to your videos and content. I would like to add political alignment when making vehicle decisions! Toyota was a major supporter and donor with the "stop the steal" campaign. This is not only a major personal, red flag, it is a death blow for any future interactions with Toyota! When you make decisions you also have to accept the consequences!
Why because the steal wasn't stopped?
political alignment?
I’ve owned 8 Nissans and 3 Hondas. All great cars. I’ve never had a problem with any of them. I’m in the auto business and I know Hyundai & Kia struggle with quality. The Sentra is a better car than the Corolla; I’ve driven both a lot.

I understand how VW is on there but my own personal experience is this. As my kids graduated college and for ourselves, we bought 2018 Atlas, 2019 Beetle, 19 Jetta, 22 Taos and 23 Taos. With a total of 5 vehicles bought, over 200,000 accumulated miles and 20 total years of ownership, there have been 2 unscheduled warranty repairs total on all vehicles. This is far better than any experience I’ve had with any make, including Toyota and Honda.
I did pull up to a 2024 Atlas on the side of the road. His just died. I think I may be out of the market for a new one. I have the VR6 and no digital dash. His dash quit.
I have another year of warranty left on my 18 because all of the 18 and 19 models have 6/72 bumper to bumper.
My next vehicle? Likely one of the 60,000-100,000 mile 2008-2012 Lexus LS that I see every now and then in the mid teens. I’m not sure I want any more new cars.

Of course they dominate rural America! Anyone can open a Ford/chevy ect dealer. Find one Toyota dealership in a remote area. You can’t find one. American made vehicles are the most produced/available vehicles in the country. Abundance doesn’t equal quality or reliability.
@@jboogie5216 I support this country. Not foreign countries
@@mikealchin525look at the most American cars by parts content. Tesla and Honda/Acura have ALL of the top 10. The big 3 aren’t American at this point. dodge/chrysler/jeep/ram is not owned by an American firm, the money goes back to Europe. And the only Chinese built cars you can buy is one Buick and one Lincoln
