I was maybe like 5 when the first movie came out, and I remember I didn't understand half the shit that was going coz I was an idiot 5 year old, but I gradually got attached to the series and I was so excited when the 2nd movie was revealed, I think I was like 9 or something when it came out and I remember bringing some of the toys to school, even though the teachers and my parents kept telling me not to XD The third movie hit me like a fucking machine gun!!! When my friends and I went to watch it, I started crying at the end, and they started laughing at me. I love all three of the movies, the series', the games, the everything!!!

This franchise was the story of the 2010s. They had new content almost every year. The first one started it all in 2010, then we got Riders/Defenders of Berk. Then we got HTTYD 2. Then Race to The Edge. Then, to end the decade, and the franchise, The Hidden World. I don't mind admitting I cried when it ended, because it felt like my childhood ended with it. This song hurt so bad to hear, because it perfectly embodied my feelings for HTTYD. Saying goodbye sucked. It still sucks. The line "We'll always be friends, but we'll keep our distance" hit especially hard, because that's how it's proven to be. I'll always hold it near and very dear to my heart, but I've unintentionally kept my distance from the franchise, because the nostalgia trip almost physically hurts me. I love you, Httyd. And I always, always will

This music really makes this whole series so special to me, it perfectly summarises up the friendship that Hiccup and Toothless both had. The ending was so emotional for me, Hiccup and Toothless were such a great friendship for one another, and HTTYD will always be forever in my heart as one of the best animated series that I've ever seen in my entire life. It's sad to see that the amazing series has ended. I will never stop thinking about how these two characters were such a monumental piece in the entire series. Their friendship grew, and they loved one another. This movie was very well animated to the point where it made me so connected throughout the entire series, as a whole. It hasn't ended, they will always be friends, but they won't see each other often, and the times they do, the periods of time where they were apart were long enough that Toothless didn't even recognize Hiccup and long enough for Hiccup to grow a beard.

Tabi M. Well, in one interview, DeBlois did said that he would only work until this last movie. And if anybody wishes to continue it in the future, they may do so. But I doubt it'll happen anytime soon if the story will just be for the sake of an expected movie.
I honestly just wish the trailers were more vague. Cause even before the film I could at least predict a basic summary of the plot. Still amazing though, and even after 9 years is still my favourite franchise.

This is the only movie that has ever brought a tear to my eye. I had held such a passion for the first two movies in the series, and when the third was announced, you can bet how excited I was to go see it. I was not expecting them to leave each other, so I was mad at the time. Now I realise it was not meant to make an affect on me then and there, but to create a long term love for the trilogy and an addiction of watching it every opportunity I got. Thank you, HTTYD, for letting me grow up with these two. Goodbye.

AdonisplayZ KYT I think that the series Riders and Defenders of Berk takes place 1 year after the first film with Hiccup being 16 or so and the Netflix series Race to the Edge takes place one year before the second film with Hiccup being 19 or so. The third film takes place one year after the second film so Hiccup and Toothless were only together for 6 years. Knowing that they were together for only 6 years makes me feel so sad, it felt like a lifetime.
For us, it was 10 years.
Well if you take into account the side series on netflix you'll find they were together around 15 years.

I was an 18 year old senior in high school when this movie was released. And well I didn’t really know this song that well. But even though it’s talking about Hiccup and Toothless leaving each other and going their separate ways, in a way, this song also speaks out to me, because I was almost done with high school from over a year ago when this movie was released, and when my high school graduation day came, I knew at that time and at that moment, it was all over for me and my old friends from middle school and high school as well, because things were and still are changing all around for all of us, and this song in a way connects with me, because well I don’t really know if it’s the end for me and for my friends. I mean you say that it’s goodbye, and at the same time goodbye doesn’t mean the end for any of us, and on the other hand, it’s also saying that your friends and you will stay in touch and I can always tell that will be friends no matter where life will take us, and yet at the same time, who knows? And I’m not really sure if any of my old friends from high school graduation will be going back to our 10 year reunion in the next 9 years from now. And even if we all will be going back because I’m planning on going back to our old high school in the next 9 years, I’m not really sure if any of my old friends do and/or don’t have plans to go back to it or even if they’re interested to go back for the 10 year reunion, because well even if they will all be coming back, who knows if they’re all coming back home for it? I mean all I know is, this song did at the time and in a way still speaks out to me.

The 'How To Train Your Dragon' trilogy was absolutely stunning and magnificent. Hiccup & Toothless started out as best friends, but now they're kings. They may be apart, but they'll always remember each other. Berkian or dragon, those 2 won't be forgotten. Shout out to them shout out to all the How To Train Your Dragon fans out there.

This trilogy was so good. DreamWorks put so much time in animation, storyline and songs and as a result made these masterpieces.

Well they said "Epic conclusion" Now if you listen to what Hiccup says at the very end about keeping the secret of dragons until one day dragons can return in peace. Yea listen to that a couple times and then you will see that they might have been pointing to a HTTYD4 who knows maybe this is only PART 1 of the "Epic conclusion"

I watched this opening night with my family and as soon as this song started playing, I was in tears, what a beautiful way to go out. A perfect trilogy and complimented by the amazing shows out there. Here's to hope that Universal doesn't screw up the next HTTYD project. Whether the new film in the works is HTTYD 4 or HTTYD Live Action remake or both, I hope it's good.
I grew up with them. The song really brings tears to my eyes, remembering those two. Even though the franchise ended we will still remember them in all our hearts.

Good god will this song always hit me right in the feels. The fact that they played scenes from all the movies in the end credits was seriously heartbreaking. I'll miss these characters and the adventures they took me on. This will always be my favorite animated movie series.
