- I know another video! keep em coming right? Well, this will probably be my last vid for a few weeks till I finish one of my dozen projects I've started. I keep switching around!
Since it was so special making, I wanted to be special uploading. So this vid is to officially commemorate my 5 years on YT + 4,000 subs (Well, so close!) + a HBD Dedication to all my July born buddies:

~About this video~
Okay, this one has been my baby for months! IDK how I kept it quiet for so long. YT recommended me this song by the beautiful artist, Beth Crowley, and I fell head over heels in love with it (and her music!) The song is just SO MOVING! (And SOOO LONG! Good Lord its over 5 mins! I didn't realize how long it was actually till after I rendered it and watched it, lol! I enjoyed making it so much the length didn't bother me oddly, Ha!)
I saw a large part of it in my head working line for line with HTTYD. Especially that first verse.....each line just kept fitting better and better with Hiccup & Toothless, my mouth just kept getting wider and wider in awe as it went and once it hit 0:56 with "You take me by the hand" THAT DID IT! (Its like she wrote it with Dragons in mind but she didn't)

The plan with this project that I laid out in my head was to have just HTTYD on the first verse, and just HTTYD2 for the second to build on Hiccup's growth in "Who he is", then let loose with em both paralleling for the finale with VOs tying them in in-between. The lyrics were tricky for HTTYD2 but once I switched the relationship to focus on him and his parents everything started falling into place and I almost like it better than the first. It then gave me the idea to use the VO from that deleted scene at 1:53; It took me a full night to find and download the darn thing! (But I think it tied into the second verse very well.)
The ending was the biggest challenge, but I couldn't bare the thought of cutting a single line of this song. So I made it in B/W, purposely with some clips I had already used to kinda create this dream-like sequence with Hiccup remembering the events of Toothless killing Stoick and seeing him as the powerful and dangerous creature he also is. I liked how it came back to the beginning with HTTYD1. I guess it works? You tell me...

Like my Multifandom gift, I worshiped - in editing terms - the magic behind these two vids and tried to figure out how they made them. I did a lot of experimenting with the effects in this, based on ideas from these vids, especially for the text and now I FINALLY figured out how to make them the way I like them in Vegas.
I honestly don't know how to describe how I made parts of this vid. Its one of those rare vids of mine I could never remake no matter how hard I'd try because of the layer and combination of effects used. I worked painstakingly on every little detail and I must admit I'm quite proud with how it turned out . I can't fake modest with this one I'm afraid. I'm sorry, forgive me. Its so rare a vid comes out this close to how I imagined it.
All except the quality that is. YT once again degraded it and I spent 2 days rendering 8 different times trying to get it without glitches. Ya see that flicker on the text at 0:15? Thats a glitch. Ya know I'm a perfectionist when stuff like that makes me re-render me vid 8 times. Grrr!
Anywho, I hope you find this vid worthy and enjoy it as much as I fully did making it! =D

There is just one word to describe this: PERFECTION! I mean just... WOW! How did you manage? This is the most beautiful fan video I have ever seen!! (I might cry)
Let me collect myself. *deep breaths* Okay, I'm good. You are absolutely right! This song sounds just like it was made for this movie! The first verse alone! Each line, each word; flawless! Hiccup was indeed fascinated by Toothless, who was such a mystery at the time, he can't help but try to learn more about this dragon! "Beauty of a broken angel," "afraid of what you thought I'd be," and yes, "you take me by the hand, I question who I am." The moment Hiccup touches Toothless, he questions everything. He ignores the laws he grew up with and bonded with what should have been the enemy, who soon became his best friend!
The second verse is just as powerful! I love how it portrays the second movie, and focused on his parents! You included deleted scenes! XD Hiccup relied on his experiences during the sequel, and continues to learn, but doesn't ignore the past. "I kept on pushing through, standing resolute." Hiccup is all about pushing passed the Viking limits and searching for answers, following his instincts! It's one of the things I love about him! "I'm seeing who I am," Hiccup has been trying to find out who he is, and has found a missing part of himself when he reunites with his mother. She's where his love and connection of dragons comes from!
I can't ignore the chorus! Hiccup and Toothless are indeed each other's greatest strength, as well as weakness. "Put me to the test," seriously? How many times has Hiccup been challenged to stand up for what he believes in? Perfect! "Won't let myself believe that what we feel is wrong," Hiccup doesn't listen to what others say about his dragon. He knows what in his heart, as well as Toothless'. They know they are meant to be together! "I finally see what you knew was inside of me all along," Hiccup always had doubts about himself. Whether it was being a Viking or Chief, but everyone already knew he could be these things. "Behind this soft exterior lies a warrior." Most enemies underestimate Hiccup, but they soon learn that is a big mistake! There is no force greater that that of Hiccup and Toothless!
And the voice overs! Oh, the VOs! The most emotional and heart felt of the movies! The message that each one carries! Oooooohhhhhh! "You have the heart of a chief and the soul of a dragon. Only you can bring our worlds. That is who you are, son" My absolute favorite line from Valka! It fits Hiccup to a T! It is his destiny! Sorry, getting emotional again! I just don't know how to sum up that last part! The raw power of this is just... amazing!

This is so accurate! Every word has its own link to the film! Hiccup doubted who he was as a viking because instead of killing Toothless, he gained a connection with him, and did the complete opposite that all his ancestors of 300 years had done! He was tangled by Toothless's game at one point, and Hiccup was loved and hated both by his father at one point. He began to understand who he was and was taught by Toothless how to fight back, not literally, but emotionally, and Hiccup taught Toothless how to care for humans! This is just.. UGH I CANT STOP WATCHING IT! Every time I sit down and play this as background music, I always end up putting it on loop and watching it instead of doing what I need to do! I cried in this it was so perfect and linked every word with the film! Your editing skills really surprise me! Keep it up! I would love to see more of these!

Just a little over two months to go til the year comes to an end. I've had the pleasure of discovering several magnificent video tributes so far in 2016. For many different fandoms. That being said even with time still left. I am confident I have found not only my favorite for this year. This one is easily an all time favorite already! I've already lost count how many times I've watched this. And the novelty of it's enrapturing engaging stirrings will not be wearing off. I know that for certain.

It takes a great for someone to capture that essence from each HTTYD film and tie them with a song that was written for a completely different story medium.
It really does give off the vibe this moving song was meant to played against the back drop of the HTTYD franchise. It makes me even wonder if there is an alternate reality where this really was be played over the end credits of HTTYD 2. It's that beautifully seamless.

As much of a weirdo that I might sound like when I say this, I cried at the part with Valka and Hiccup’s reunion. They’re just beautiful scenes and they really fit the gist of the song nicely.
One more thing and I promise that’s it. It’s just so amazing. I love how on the instrumental parts you decided to add their voices coming through. The dialogue you picked to shine through really just... wow. Perfect. I love this. 😉
This song is perfect for the message you wished to convey for this movie. Who would’ve guessed that Hiccup would’ve gone from himself to this amazing hero. The lyrics match this message and how he twisted the rules to find a friend who becomes his best friend. It also matches the fact that he was kind of ripped apart and put back together and it really shows how he was lost and Toothless help him find himself again. It’s so perfectly worded that it fits so well.

It’s just... some of the scenes in the third movie would be perfect! *Spoilers ahead* The scene where the dragons leave, the scene where Hiccup and Astrid get married, and possibly the scene where Hiccup and Toothless reunite at the very end of the movie. I watched this about half way through a while back but was interrupted and didn't get to watch the full thing until now...all I have to say is WOAH! as for the "I can't fake modest with this one I'm afraid" Dang, throw modesty aside for this video, you did outstanding! The five minutes+ of a roller-coaster of emotions, symbolic references, and raw power is enough to make me want to just sit for hours and keep trying to find all the correlations in this video. Just woah, I cannot ever begin to try and tell you my favorite parts because the entire video is my favorite part!

Hiccup and toothless have become one soul, heart and mind over the past years if they part ways their heart, soul and mind will detach and their Clans will be ripped apart and divided 4 ever then they all fall and shatter and I tell you that they cannot come soon enough!!!!😱😠😥🙏🙏🙏

I know this was years ago but I don't care. Your work is amazing! If anyone that hasn't seen the Httyd movies, I would tell them to watch this. The music fits so well with Hiccup as he grows up through all of the movies along with Toothless. You truly have shown the story in just 5 mins, and for that I say you are amazingly talented!

I love how they put it all together i got goose bump on my goose bumps I could fell everything hiccup was going through I felt his feelings and I also think that this is better than both the movies. I have one complaint though I dint like the very end where its black and white that just seemed liked they were dragging it on but other than that I loved it sooooo much I've been a how to train your dragon fan for many many years and this is one of he best creations that I've ever seen. I've subscribed and in glad I found your channel i hope everyone agrees.
