The fan is a resistor that prevents any flickering or lights on the dashboard. Because otherwise the canbus system thinks your bulbs are burned out.
I have these exact tails from winjet also. They were good to me for about 2 years then gave me issues with the actual led bulbs, Winjet customer service is terrible... lol. If you haven’t yet, you can run the big harness through the oem weatherproofing on each side of your hatch. Dont get me wrongs Its a snug fit to run them through but it fully hides and looks as oem as if nothing was changed. 👍 Good choice going with these tails.
That’s exactly what I ended up doing! Took a little fight to get it to go in there but looks perfect now.

Went to install these on my own car earlier, and had the same issue with the passenger side not being wired correctly. Do you remember exactly how you re pinned the factory harness?
I repinned the harness on the taillight. I just looked at the factory socket on the side that wouldn’t plug in to see where the pins needed to go and repinned it to fit into the socket.
DONT BUY THESE TAILLIGHTS. I had them on my rabbit probably 4 months before one filled halfway with water and when I installed, one of the main plugs was made wrong and I had to fix it. Too much of a hassle and not worth whatever your paying for them. Currently trying to fix the one taillight 🤦♂️💀
I had the exact same thing happen to me too, with the pins being reversed. I contacted the place where I bought them from and they sent me new ones with the same issue! I guess it’s just manufactured wrong. It’s stupid that a somewhat know light brand could make a dumb mistake like this and it get completely overlooked. I’m just gonna have to solder the wires together I guess :/
Yes it is like that on every set. Don’t know why they don’t care to fix it
I’ve just bought these exact lights off ecs tuning and I’m confused because the yellow led strip which I assume is for indicators is on with the brake lights and it’s using my fog and reverse light as indicator lights when I indicate doesn’t make sense I’ve matched all wires together and got it all hooked up please help me
Hmm only thing I can think of is double check the wiring.
@@CameronLee is it just white with white yellow with yellow and black with black if so that’s what I’ve done 🤷🏽♂️
And the last question, why do they turn on and off? 12:12...
Just the way they do on camera.

Nah it has to do with frequency of the lights and the camera
Hey! I recently bought a MK5 GTI and it appears that the previous owner has these taillights installed. It seems like the entire right taillight is out. I’m assuming that it’s just the wiring issue you mentioned about the pins being reversed? Can you explain how that’s done?
I just bought a pin remover tool off Amazon. So you can look at the harness that is attached to the taillight and then look at the wiring harness coming from the car. You’ll see that when you plug those in to each other the pins are not gonna line up inside the connector. So I just looked at the other side and saw how they were suppose to line up inside the connector and used the pin remover tool and re pinned the taillight harness to line up with the harness on the car.

@@MrDemiseOG auto terminal removal tool kit. There’s one for cheap that are on a key chain.
Where did you get that rear bumper?
It was an oem votex rear bumper I bought from ecs tuning. It’s no longer made so has to be bought 2nd hand. It was swapped out for a European r32 rear bumper
I got these tail lights and for some reason the left side lights blink properly using the yellow indicator lights but the right side when I turn the blinker on the brake lights flash 😒
Just make sure you have everything connected correctly. Sounds like you have some wires crossed

Mine did the same thing and I can’t figure out why. Does yours work and then turn off when you hit the brakes? Cause that’s what mine are doing

I want to buy this for my rabbit, is it worth now?I see mixed reviews/ taillights look epic, but a few people in the comments section say that they had problems with it after 2 years etc etc, I’m curious if it’s worth getting them even with the hassle?
I have not had a single problem with mine once I figured out the wiring was wrong.
I have the same for my 2008 R32 and I don’t like the taillights with the brake lights simultaneously. It’s not legal in my state neither. Had to return them. Plus also the some of the LED bulb went in and out.
What had to be repinned where?

It seems that he didn't installed them properly. That's the reason why those blinkers are on.
Are you selling the old lights? That's an MK5 right?

@@CameronLee Are they a specific brand or OEM euro? I like how the LED circles look but i can't seem to find a brand that is reasonably priced and/or has a decent reputation
@@SinfulEuphxria The ones that were on the car to begin with are knock off Oem taillights.
The original circle led tail lights are Valeo ones which are an option on the euro cars but i don't think that they make them anymore
Where’d you manage to pick up these knock off oem taillights?
Where is your back fog light?
Don’t need one. Only the oem euro tail lights for this car have a rear fog light.
