Here at Hytec Hydroponics we compared two of the best-selling LED grow lights on the market - the Maxibright Varidrive 720w LED and the Lumii Black 720w LED to see what if any difference there actually is?
Both of these LED Grow Lights are powered and controlled by 600W Electronic Ballasts which are sold separately, or with the LED Fixtures as a kit.
The electronic ballasts are mounted directly on the fixture or positioned remotely, can dim the LED Fixtures to 400W or 250W, or the 600W Boost setting may be selected to give maximum light output.

Very nice i didnt know you could use your current ballast if you have ones that is. Should be a nice lil saving !. Defo going to look into LEDs this summer and keep the temps down and do hps in the winter.
how many grams does one led lamp of 720w give? thank you
What chips an kelvin was used for this fixture
Hey whats the ppfd on 400 watts at 30 cm ?
Nice video, only critic point I have is the Lumii spectrum is very well suitable for veg as well, just not perfect, I agree that much :D
Great video, any chance of doing a comparison with the adjustawatt retro720?
Preferably without the cameraman doing heavy breathing in the background. It was like watching phsyco 😂😂😂
Hi Craig just wondering how many plants the 600 lumii covers
The grow light covers at maximum 1.5mtr square so you can put as many plants as you like in that space. To be realistic one to four plants would be best under this light.
Craig can the lumatek purple digi ballasts be used on these lights?
Hi, yes the standard 240v dimmable digi ballast will work but the DE or Utopia 630 versions will not.
Please use protective glasses. You only get one set of eyes and that brightness will only damage them. Anything over 50w and that unit is 10 times as much
Love that you can simply swap out ballast
Yes its a great function, check them out on our website hytechydroponics.com/Maxibright-Varidrive-720w-LED-Grow-Light
@@hytechydroponics can you confirm how many amps this light pulls ? says 5amps on the box ?? seems like a lot for a 600w ballast ?
I own the lumii black LED. Its great. Use it in a 5x5.
It's a great flowering light!
How much gpw u can get from one of those?
Hi, can you tell wich LED chips are used?
LumLED white chips and Osram Red chips. I hope that answers your question.
@@hytechydroponics thanks
How much is the u it with out the ballest ???
They're both currently priced at £399 :)
The Maxibright Varidrive without ballast is £399.00 here is a link to the product... hytechydroponics.com/Maxibright-Varidrive-720w-LED-Grow-Light
They look exactly the same. Just branded differently.
600+ setting is not 720w its 715w I read, if I remember correctly, from the website or the manual. But I can't complain Lumee sells the cheapest watts on the market.
