As it says - Anúna singing Dúlamán in High Def. Soloist Ian Curran music written by Michael McGlynn text traditional Irish. Sheet Music from www.michaelmcglynn.com
That was my daily dose of seaweed powered music.
I actually sang this when I was at a choir camp around 4 years ago. I sang the 2nd verse. This is amazing! Somehow, the Gaelic sounds easy to say yet looks difficult to pronounce when reading it on paper.
Oh gosh, I remember when I saw them live; they sang this one, and I was impressed by the sheer vocal acrobatics in the pronunciation of the lyrics.
Love this song, love this group. :D
I had to sing this for my junior year of high school in choir, this was a hard one to sing and these guys did it very well
well done! i wish to have one day the opportunity to see you guys live
Could we possibly get the lyrics and translation published? I gather that the traditional lyric is in praise of the golden yellow seaweed left strewn on the rocks after a storm and describes its physical properties...Gaelic seaweed, the best in all of Erin...but the full translation would be beneficial to its enjoyment. Powerful stuff ! Definitely a favourite.
Darren Adkins it's actually a metaphor for a seaweed vendor who wants to court a rich man's daughterm but searching up 'dulaman lyrics translation' here on youtube will certainly help you on your quest :D
Amazing
ahhhh this is crazy good!
Yes!
I love you, guys!
extraordinaire interprétation et oeuvre tout aussi extraordinaire ... c'est du gaélique ???
Oui.
This song on 2x speed......just imagine ...
Very unusual to hear this song being sung prestissimo like here -- it's almost like they're in a hurry to gather their daily quota of seaweed! 😀
It's unusual for it to be sung slower as the marking on the score is at this speed. And the composer is in the group.
@@anunachoir Composer??? Isn't this a traditional song from way back when??? And didn't Clannad record this song first?
No
@@agentorange153 No the traditional song Dúlamán is a different song. @anunachoir knows this and could have pointed this out to you.
But that is why we have search engines. I am very happy to offer, for a small fee, a consultancy service.
