Quadzilla is a faster machine and so easy to ride because its a torque monster. I didn't need to be on the pipe and could still climb anything! The wheel base is also a lot longer than the Banshee. Thats why fourstroke motors work so good on the bikes..its all about the traction and duration of hooking it up to the ground..the race was on a lose gravel road..the banshee makes more horsepower but its unstable and wasting it in wheelspin which sounds like a sliping clutch.. if you can get it to hook up it will tote the front tires the whole way
Zilla on dirt needs start out in 2nd. And the faster you shift it the better it pulls. The Shee wont hook up till about 3rd gear. Just spins. Try same thing on better traction surface get better results

If memory serves, the LT500 used a detuned variant of the original RM500 engine. As a result, one could make a far more powerful Quadzilla simply by blueprinting the LT500 to RM500 specs, or transplanting the stock RM500 straight into an LT500 chassis. This brings to mind the question: what is the best all-around engine shared by both ATVs and big-bore off-road bikes? The immediate engine that comes to mind is the 650cc Honda four-stroke as used in the XR650R “Big Red Pig”, which exists as a fuel-injected variant in its Fourtrax counterpart. Maybe a big bore 2 and 4 stroke comparison video is needed, and the winning motor is Frankensteined into a donor Fourtrax 250 to create the ultimate sleeper.
Banshee got a pipe too. Tire size AND gearing , fuels and oils , equal driver weight and driving skills, alot of variables. Put a decent pipe on zilla and watch it eat banshee for dinner. No replacement for displacement.
Just some food for thought just make sure both power bands on both cylinders are kicking in on that banshee cuz if not that thing is going to be a turd and it looks like it's a turd to be honest

Cool video guys. It's not like the Zilla is smoking the Shee (no pun intended) but does have a 150cc advantage. I would say in the woods or on a tight grass track the Shee would not have much of a disadvantage. Thanks for taking the risk and showing some cool old 2-strokes quad from a by-gone era.
I've ridden a Quadzilla, but I raced a Banshee. The Quadzilla deserves every bit of its reputation. But, on the track, I can't tell you how many times I took the holeshot on the Banshee in the open class, even against Quadzillas. I just found the Banshee to be so much more evil on the track. By the way, the twin sound was so unique, and hearing it brought back so many memories.

Thanks brother
Not sure why they are letting off the throttle while shifting? Hold it WOT and barely pull in the clutch while shifting
My guy cause we are just recreational riders.
I love the banshee twin exhaust whine, gets me fired up to ride every time I hear it
Me too... live the sound!
And I would like to get the original engine because mine doesn't have it.
You might be able to still find one.
Are the top and bottom of the banshee engine stock?
I'm thinking all options of Yamaha engines are smaller for the banshee.
..... and that's a slow banshee.
Yes
Cool video guys. It's not like the Zilla is smoking the Shee (no pun intended) but does have a 150cc advantage. I would say in the woods or on a tight grass track the Shee would not have much of a disadvantage. Thanks for taking the risk and showing some cool old 2-strokes quad from a by-gone era.
Thanks for watching brother... we appreciate comments like this.
Love the old school Suzukis
Us too. Thanks for watching!
No replacement for displacement ! cool video
Thanks.
Thanks man!
🤦♂️🤦♂️
I would have lost $1,000 on betting about this damn video😂
Haha nice!
Im thinking Jack is alil too light,I can see alot of wheel spin on both bikes with him on them due to a possible traction issue, just my opinion.
Youre right.
The way daddy was keeping close on the banshee verifies my suspensions that he was holding back on the quadzilla, at least a little.
I can't give away any secrets.
I wish I could afford two quads lol. I had an 08 raptor 700r. I loved it.
I never had a raptor.
I would say for overall fun factor, the banshee is tops.
No , a quadzilla is hands down so much more fun...in my opinion...lol
I just bought a 88' LT500 'quadzilla' 2 days ago. Cant believe i finally own one! Its defense insane to ride. Now looking for a banshee for my collection.
You are a lucky man.
Oh shit I see the maple dude building off of highway 10 this makes total sense now! Sweet!
Where you at?
@@TheMapleDude1 We have a bunch of Honda atc’s as well.
Man these are some absolutely beautiful machines pretty cool too see
Thanks man.
Great videos! Make a limited edition quadracer maple syrup bottle please!!!! If you did that for atv/atc that be cool
It would be cool.
Im a Banshee guy but hey, i love all these old Bikes. A 350 vs a 500 explains alot. Both awesome machines that will never be made again due to emissions crap sadly
Thanks for watching my guy.
I don't have to tell the town of Lynn, WI ... you did ...
Ya think??
IS the clutch bad on the banshee?? Sounds terrible 🤷...
Loss of traction
Im a suzuki guy 100% but i thought the banshee was going to be faster here being the fact its alot newer but looks like Yamaha did little to no updates on engine performance!
looks really fun but in my opinion just gotta practice more the sifting and staying on that 2 stroke power band
Will do. We were 4 stroke riders before this.
Appreciate guys!
Thanks for watching!
Okay so stock the Zilla but if I get to do up grades like port job then Banshee it is ! I had. Banshee 2001 with a Vito Crank, Rods and Ceramic Pistons with pro design Heads 17Cc domes with 34mm Flat-slide Carbs. 103mph on 93 octane.
I'd like to get a port job done on this banshee.
I miss the 3 wheelers 250r from the 80 .
Me too!
I had no idea they still made banshees in 05. I thought they stopped in the 80s. I always thought it would be fun to have one.
Yeah thru 2006!
250r was discontinued after 88 banshee lived til 07 I thinnk
@@curtisstivason3695 atc 250r 3 wheeler was 1986, 4 wheeler 1989.
Yea that's a metric Phillips head screw with a nylon lock nut.
Where?
@@TheMapleDude1 Front fender. Lol. nylock nuts and that won't happen again. That is what it came with. Love your 80'''s line up by the way!
@@juslookinism thanks brother
My uncle had a quadzilla, and his son had a 1988 banshee, i used to race them with my dad's 1986 Honda trx 250r... fun times each quad has its niche.. the 250r being the track quad the zilla sheer power and hills, but once the banshee gets in the sand, nothing seems to touch it 🤷♂️
I agree! Each awesome machines!
Something doesn’t sound right in the banshee. Doesn’t seem to be getting all the power delivered. I would try a clutch
We changed it and will rematch. Watch the later video banshee vs 250r see if you think it was better.
@@TheMapleDude1 good. Hope is helps. I will keep posted
I had one of the Suzuki LT 500... also the Is banshee and the warrior... tell you what if u never rode a LT500.... DONT KNOW WHAT YOU ARE MISSING
You got that right!
Raise your hand if you thought the Banshee even stood a chance? I think not! I have been on both modes. Both fast and powerful. The Banshee feels faster because of weight.
You're exactly right!
