Excellent video! It is an interesting and little known fact that 48624 is running with the tender originally built for 45337 - see Ian Sixsmith's The Book of the Black Five. Part 3 page 157 (45337) and part 4 page 141 (44888) show that tender 9573 was swapped w.e.f. 19/10/47 and was the tender rescued back in late 1968 by the Severn Valley, languishing for many years at Highley before being sold to the group restoring 48624 at Peal Railway. The tender now used by 45337 is the one from 48518.

The 8F is a class perhaps regarded as a poor relation in the LMS family, but your excellent compilation goes a long way to putting matters right, Nick. As well as your classic clear video, the sound really shows off 48624 to perfection. Kind regards, Bob

Why would it be a poor relation?

What happened to 48624 shiny red paint?
