After a 2nd viewing these locos look even better really well proportioned vehicles showing off their Great western /midland heritage very well.
As well as the Scot /Patriot rebuilds probably my favourite ex LMS locomotives with the Princess Royals and Coronations a close 2nd. well done

I k ow they probably didnt always have the best reputations but i really like these handsome locomotives .In use the often were asked to run at there maximum and pushed to their limits but always seemed to do a good job according to a friend who fired/drove them back in the day and plugged a usefull gap in the intermediate power range .
    smashing locos, lovely views .

I paddled the “Devizes to Westminster” at Easter 1966. Not so much activity near the pumping station, then! Derelict locks and dried sections that had to be ‘portaged’. Since the preservation industry has invested ooodles of cash in canals, stationary steam engines, preserved ‘mainline steam’ etc.
Lovely assembly of shots. I’m not naturally a grump, but I felt every step of carrying the kayak along the overgrown ‘tow path’ in the shadow of the chimney at Crofton locks beam engine. Lovely emotive videos. Thank you.

Nice collection of footage Matthew. The fact that the forth LMS Jubilee 5593 Kolapur is being restored to mainline condition speaks volumes how good they are for mainline railtours.

A gallant effort over Hemerdon bank if I'm not mistaken! Very evocative; the summer sun, midges dancing in the light, the rhythm of the loco exhaust and the clicking of 'gricer' cameras!

Lovely videos Matthew, Galatea pulling 13 carriages shows sheer power, all the locos looked amazing.

Great range of shots Matthew, a real Stanier fest. Just love the power of these locos and all with ease, even with thirteen on. Thanks for travels this summer, you've brought some cracking scenes to my armchair👍👍👍

Brilliant video, I recently watched Bahamas on the main line and it was very good but you only see it for 10 seconds then its all over unfortunately, anyway still good managing to see them thundering down the mainline 👍🚂🚃
And blimey isn't Bahamas always immaculate

Cheers! It's always short and sweet, but we are very lucky in this country to have the scale of preservation movement that we do.
If ever there was a loco that could rival "Clan Line" for its immaculate appearence, it would be "Bahamas".
