Hey amazing video as always i was wondering if you could do amazing shots of the X-men tv series the gifted and legion they have some amazing cinematography in them
What I like the most about the X-Men movies is the fact that they never tried to follow the MCU's formula or its tropes, especially after it became a trend They never relied on nostalgia, the tone always kept consistent, and they always focused on the present They kept their sense of individuality, and their ability to think outside the box Most MCU movies look the same, and they almost never take risks
I agree. Each X-Men movie, even the weakest ones, have their own genre and personality : intimate drama for X-Men 1, politic thriller for X-Men 2, action horror for X-Men 3, war movie for Wolverine Origins, spy movie for X-Men First Class, martial art movie for The Wolverine, time travel story for Days of Future Past, disaster movie for Apocalypse, road movie for Logan, parody for Deadpool 1, action comedy for Deadpool 2, Harry Potter-like adventure for Dark Phoenix, and psychological horror for New Mutants.
Not enough love for the ORIGINAL superhero franchise - it might have been hit or miss, but the highs are still some of the best in all of superhero cinema.
Although the adaptations of comics both before and now are the most criticized, having people who have great affection for the franchise and superhero comics makes for tremendous gems.
Honestly, I love this universe more than a MCU. These are individually great. Where as the MCU Feels like the same over again. Except guardians. I just really instantly connected with these films. I’m so happy you posted this.
I enjoyed the X-Men film series. Even Dark Phoenix and The New Mutants. Yes, i know they weren't the greatest, and also the timeline was all over the place, but i still thoroughly enjoyed them, nonetheless.
Timeline really isn't all over the place You have two timelines that intersect at dofp Timeline 1: origins, x123, wolverine Dofp (changes both future and past) Timeline 2: first class, apocalypse, Phoenix, dp12, Logan, new mutants
@@dobi287 First Class happens in both timelines. DoFP only changes the future. Timeline 1: First Class, some of DoFP (the parts that aren't affected by the time travel), Origins, X123, Wolverine Timeline 2: First Class, everything in DoFP, Apocalypse, Dark Phoenix, New Mutants, Logan Deadpool 1 and 2 take place between Dark Phoenix and New Mutants, but they are very inconsistent with the timeline (the Apocalypse-era X-Men cameo in Deadpool 2, which is set at least 30 years after Apocalypse). Also, some parts of Origins happens in the new timeline. All of Logan's childhood, him fighting in the different wars throughout the ages, etc. Basically, everything that takes place before DoFP happens in both timelines.
The X-Men movies deserve way more credit for actually encouraging filmmakers to stay true to their own vision instead of sticking to some safe, uninspired formula to fit into a bigger universe. Even at their worst, I don't get why APOCALYPSE gets so much more hate than most bland, corporate shlock.
The X-Men as well as the Avengers, the Fantastic Four and the Guardians of the Galaxy are an important group in Marvel. And beyond his animated series, he managed to get his chance in the movies, and it all started with Bryan Singer. So both Singer's saga and Matthew Vaughn's reboot, stories in general like Deadpool and Logan returned with thanks, and yes, the X-Men saga has its ups and downs. Now let's wait what the new path of the X-Men will be like in the UCM (And that Deadpool 3 with Wolverine is missing) You made a great tribute to these great mutants, very good video :D
6:03 That shot of Storm walking through liberty with lighting glowing around her and the wind spreading out in sync with the Kashmir music score is simply breathtaking and encapsulates the visual panache of the Xmen franchise. This compilation reminds us how theatrical, cinematic and iconic the Xmen are. Great montage.
Simon Kinberg may not have been a good writer But you can bet that he's a great producer It was because of him that we got FIRST CLASS, DEADPOOL and LOGAN In fact, Kinberg was the one that pitched Matthew Vaughn to direct FIRST CLASS
X-Men franchise is worth a rewatch The Good: (X-Men, X2, X-Men Days of Future Past, Deadpool, Deadpool 2, X-Men First Class and Logan) The Bad: (X-Men 3, X-Men Apocalypse, The New Mutants and The Wolverine) The Ugly: (X-Men Dark Phoenix and X-Men Orgins Wolverine) Who's still looking forward to Deadpool 3?
For better or for worse I'll always prefer Fox's X-Men movies over the MCU Because even the bad ones have something else to offer Something better than the MCU
What love about these movies is that most of them avoid the superhero label They weren't superhero movies, they were sci-fi movies featuring super powered individuals
Perfection! And I'm biased when I say it, but I loved the fact that at the end it used the soundtrack from First Class, my favorite film in the franchise.
True tbh i hate the comics fans who complained every time for the fox movies and now just for because Disney used the theme of an overrated animated show, now they clap 😭 like wow
Even with the bad reception Dark Phoenix received, I wanted to see the X-Men one last time before Disney could reduce them into clowns And despite acknowledging its flaws, I walked out satisfied It's the little things that make these movies enjoyable The MCU will never make the X-Men better than this
You know what i think I will predict what they do, give each X-Men their dumb animated suit, with that overrated music and fight, that's it. They won't go that far, they can't tackled politics because Disney have a face of progressive company but then do shitty things behind.
X-Men (2000 movie) X2: United (2003) X-Men: The Last Stand (2006) X-Men: First Class (2011) X-Men: Days of the Future Past (2014) X-Men: Apocalypse (2016) X-Men: Dark Phoenix (2019)
Besides Dark Phoenix and Origins, I noticed that all X-Men movies focused more on the drama rather than the superhero glamour. That's why the movies feel so different from the MCU formula. X-Men 2, Logan, First Class and DOFP are the best examples of superhero drama. They knew how to balance the action and the plot. Maybe my fear is that Disney will focus on the comedy rather than developing the X-Men and their plot based on real life issues. Yes, the idea of having the original team is great like the suits, but the plot of what Disney don't pay much attention to. I want an authentic X-Men movie, not a generic Kevin Feige film.
Kevin Feige isn't a comic book fan like he claims to be. He clearly has no plan and relies on quantity to get his movies to sell. He's just an overhyped studio executive.
This is my favorite marvel team! Then it’s the fantastic 4 and then avengers. These movies are so beautiful and they deserve to be huge pillars in the MCU I’m both excited and scared to see what the future holds for these characters!
Feige worked on the X-Men Saga well the first two and we can see tbh i wanted them to continue and maybe do a little crossover that would have been better now everything is Disney
Very well done video! I can tell you are a fan based on the mix of trailer music and movie/TV series music. Great editing. My one question is why is "The New Mutants"? Not shown in the video. Its technically part of the series.
Excellent compilation, awesome job ! Probably my second favourite super hero saga after Snyder's trilogy. Sure they didn't care about the comics but, most of the time, they cared about making the best movies possible with the budget they had and that's enough.
There is no Snyder's trilogy, the snyder-verse is that the man of steel and bvs (despite the shortcomings of the producers on batman v superman), the 2017 version of Justice League or that of 4h remains an order of the producers and not the real version of the director.
